Pack Synergy: How Well Wolves Get Along

Pack Synergy: How Well Wolves Get Along
Posted 2021-01-21 10:23:13 (edited)

Before we start a note:
This post originally ties in with other ideas I have to improve Wolvden's Lore or whatever. Since there is a rule for posting 1 idea per thread I forgot about, I am remaking them separately in more detail and will link to the other threads so if you think you might find those interesting feel free to check them out :3

My goal with these ideas is simply to help flesh Wolvden out a bit more while keeping things as optional as possible and without  taking breeding or spending SC/GC into account.

I'm also not afraid of criticism or anything. If you think this idea can be improved somehow or wanna add a suggestion go ahead because I'd love to hear it!

Also if you have a better name idea feel free to suggest it cuz idk how good my name is lol

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pack Synergy!
The idea is to focus on the wolves and their personalities and how that works with the other wolves in the pack! What's the point of having so many personalities if our wolves never really interact or have an effect on anything ya know?
How this works is every so often, maybe on den page as a notification and rollovers, you have a chance to get little flavor texts about your wolves! It'll tell you a little something that happened between your wolves and you can use it for lore or ignore it.
I'd like to imagine you also have a chance for a little decor or scar or something depending on the wolf. Possibly a chance for a wolf to earn a stat but that might be a bit unfair if people could turn them off.
These don't all have to be about wolf interactions either, they could include a lil flavor text of something that happened to your wolf today! Certain texts can also be triggered by season, time, and weather too!
These scenarios should NOT affect things like hunting. Perhaps you can have a spot on your wolf's page to list 'friends' or something. Tho u can just use bio I suppose lol.
also idk another name for this so I'm calling it Pack Synergy for now lol.
Some things to note:
If Wolf 1 and Wolf 2 are Pair Bonded then no 'flirts' or anything should happen outside that pair imo. Also only between adults ofc.
No actual real consequences should happen besides a wolf needing to see ur herbalist or maybe small HP gains/losses depending on the text kinda like in explore if admins wanted to go tht route but nothing serious like death or serious injury.
Below are some examples (they aren't the best but should give you an idea of things lol):
[Optimistic Wolf] was seen trying to cheer up [Pessimistic Wolf] today after they got soaked from a sudden rain. [Pessimistic Wolf] did not seem to feel any better about it though.
[Precise Wolf] took [Keen Adol] out for some -whatever role Precise Wolf has- training today. Seems like [Keen Adol] has a knack for -Precise Wolf's Role-!
[Adol Wolf] was begging to go along with hunting party today, stating they weren't a puppy anymore now that they didn't need [pupsitter] to keep an eye on them.
[Impulsive Wolf] chased a -prey- into another pack's territory! They luckily got out with only a scratch.
[Malicious Wolf] was in a bad mood today it seems. They spend the whole morning tearing up an old rabbit pelt. Yikes.
[Anxious Wolf] was worried about all the snow that fell overnight. Luckily their friend [Confident Wolf] was there to reassure them. What good friends they are!
[Pair Wolf 1] and [Pair Wolf 2] seem to be lost in their own little world. How cute!
[Bossy Wolf] and [Arrogant Wolf] got into yet another argument. They should really learn to sort out their differences for the sake of our sanity.
[Pupsitter] looked -positive emotion / negative emotion- at getting yet another pup to watch today. Hopefully they can handle it.
[Nursing Mom] was a bit overwhelmed with her pups today. Thankfully [pupsitter/other nursing mom] was there to help!
[Scout] looked dead on their paws after exploring [most recent explored biome]! [Helpful Wolf] made them a comfy place to rest.
[Herbalist] chased some naughty pups out of his herbs today with a good scolding. Better make sure u pick up some more when exploring!
[wolf] seems to have brought back some fleas. Better visit the herbalist to get that fixed before it spreads!
I support!!
I LOVE DIS. It's so cute to have the little interactions esp the idea of having a friends list for each wolf.  I'm not super into lore I just like when my wolves have friendships in my head LMAO. this is a cute idea.
Definitely support! I'd love to see flavor text like this, it gives the wolves each their own personality; and it's semi-present already with the pup injuries!
Big huge support! I love this flavor text so much, and I feel like it would really add to the game. I had a couple ideas myself too!
For pups:
[Aggressive Personality Pup] seems to be picking on [Friendly Personality Pup]. [Pupsitter] tells [Aggressive Personality Pup] that they really needs to shape up!
Summer/Spring exclusive:
[Lazy Wolf] has been lying in the shade all day, instead of doing [Their role]. [Other wolf with same role] is not amused and tells [Lazy Wolf] to stop lounging around and help them out.
For bonded pairs with a pregnant female:
[Male/female 1] wants [Pregnant female] to lie down and take a break, so she doesn't overwork herself. [Pregnant female] disagrees and says she would like to continue helping out the pack up until near she is due to give birth.
Let me add on too- I was thinking the other day about different ways to gain markings, and also about how cool a lightning strike marking would be; itd obviously be super rare, but maybe there’d be a chance for a (very rare) random event to happen to one of the wolves where they find a trophy item, gain a marking, gain stats, or on the negative side get hurt, get sick, etc.
I think that there should be some adjustment in how often wolves get sick or the addition of new diseases that target more established users on the site, because after some time illnesses become just not an issue anymore, even the ones that wolves randomly experience over rollover. Maybe something that only affects users after a certain amount of wolf territories they have, or something like that?
Ohh, this is super cute! Absolutely support this concept. I love the idea of making wolf personalities mean something more than just whether or not you can put them in a hunting party together!
Definite support! I love that it would give personality more impact, while adding cute interactions between wolves! I have a few ideas for some, if that's okay.
[ Confident wolf ] tries to get [ quiet wolf ] to come out of their shell, but [ Confident wolf's ] gets upset as all [ quiet wolf ] wants to do is be alone. They get in an argument and [ quiet wolf ] seems rather upset.
[ Pair Wolf 1 ] seems to be struggling with their work, and after [ pair wolf 2 ( not lazy? might happen more often to helpful wolves ) ] sees this, they immediatly rush over to help them.
You see [ Friendly Wolf 1 ] [ Friendly Wolf 2 ] ( possibly up to 4 friendly wolves, need at least 2 ) laying around together, chatting and laughing like good friends.
[ Any Wolf ] has decided to show their skills off to [ random pup ]! They proudly bring you a [ 1 use prey carcass for hunter, 1 herb for herbalist, 1 use feather for all other wolves ]
You notice that [ Agressive Wolf ] gets along well with [ Stoic Wolf ] doing nearly everything together. It makes you happy to see your pack getting together well.
[ Friendly Wolf ( pup or adol ) ] tries to include [ Agressive wolf ( pup or adol ) ] when playing a game, but [ agressive wolf ] snaps at them and leaves.
[ Friendly Wolf ] was out exploring around the cave and accidently tripped into a bramble bush. Ouch! ( they lose 1-2 hp? )
those are just some ideas, again I support.
I'm a big softie when it comes to interactions and these kinds of flavor texts so I absolutely love this idea! I fully support it ^^
100% support! The lack of flavor text really surprised and disappointed me when I first started the game
full support! if our wolves have personalities why shouldn't they act like it instead of it just affecting hunts?
