Pack Synergy: How Well Wolves Get Along

Posted 2021-06-16 19:48:01

I do like this idea, though I would like the ability to control certain things. For instance, in my head a pair of my wolves just don't get along. I would like to have a way to note that so the flavor texts don't pop up with them getting along or helping each other out even if their personalities are technically compatible. Maybe a page to manually adjust relationships with other pack members? So, maybe check boxes saying which flavor texts can show for the wolves, either in general with the pack or with specific wolves in the pack? It may be a lot more work to add this option in though.

I'm kinda conflicted about this idea, along the lines of what Sepulchre said. On the one hand, flavor text is fun! And it would be a good starting point for lore for wolves if I don't have a good idea of their personality/pack relations. On the other hand, it would be annoying to keep getting flavor text that doesn't match my existing lore. In particular, many of my hunters have in-game personalities that are different from their canon personalities, so they would tend to get "wrong" flavor text most of the time.

That is a good point (concern?) thank you guys for bringing it up! I would tend to just kinda go with whatever would pop up and make it fit somehow so I didn't consider some people who do have different lore or personalities might end up not fitting this system as well.

A tab/page/whatever where you can fine tune it a bit would be a good idea too I'd think! A really simple option might just be the ability to choose what kind of interactions 2 wolves can have? So you can choose only positive / neutral / negative or any combo or something like that? So if you chose only positive, they'd only roll for positive interactions and such like that.

Though I'd say the more options to fine tune things to everyone's preferences and being able to allow/disallow certain flavors is the better option lol.

Kind of like wolfplaygame then where you can have two wolves interact with each other in the game.  I would be for this on here as well.

I love this idea, and I feel you could add to it. Say for instance if you have a litter of pups they would naturally have some determining likes and dislikes for each other since they are siblings, even wolves that you adopt, buy, or befriend in a Biom will over time create likes and dislikes for each other.  But hears where we get a little bit in-depth. So let's say you can get a deeper understanding of your wolves and how they interact through the personality snake or something else entirely. From hunting to other wolves they may like or roles they may want to take on when older. And to add to the friend list also have something in or out beside telling you whether or not that wolf would be okay to do hunts with or how well their synergy is.  Everything else is really good, and something like this would most certainly fill out the game.

BIG SUPPORT!! Having this would adds so much more fun to the game in how we manage our packs and personalise our wolfs.
