Any good recipes?

Bonjour, mes amis!

Title says it all— I’m looking for some recipes! I’m going through another cooking phase, and I’m looking for some recipes to recreate, and put my own spin on! Right now I’m looking into Apple Crisps after taking my family out to the local orchard. But I’m really interested in anything y’all have to offer! Pasta, Mexican, soups, gourmet, desserts, quick meals, etc! Whilst I wait for my energy to restore, I thought I’d make this thread for shits and giggles, really.

Here’s some recipes that I’ve made that are amazing!

Chicken Scampi — I’m not the biggest fan of seafood.

Cheesecake / Cookie Bars

Ooooooh, bee sting cake! The recipe I use is from my grandmother, but I'm sure you can find a good recipe online!

Ooh, I love this thread! Recently I found a super easy slow-cooker recipe: Crock Pot BBQ Chicken

If you've got a slow-cooker, I highly recommend it. Super easy and doesn't take long at all. I cut the recipe in half for feeding just myself and my husband, and it comes out great every time 💖

Best of luck in your cooking adventures, Rott!

Fantastic Idea, I have been getting into cooking a lot more myself, so I will definitely be lurking this thread a bit for some new recipes! I've been making this spicy thai peanut sauce that goes awesome with chicken over rice or quinoa! Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients: (Amounts are suggestions- I don't usually measure, I just eyeball based on taste, especially bc i love peanut butter! ^^;)

  • Soy Sauce (Max 1 1/2 cup)
  • Sesame Sauce (1/2 cup)
  • Maple syrup (2/3 cup)
  • Red Curry paste (2 tbs)
  • Crunchy Peanut butter (I always add a ton... LOL)
  • Salt + Pepper (A pinch of each!)
  • Cumin ( 1 tbs - I love cumin LOL)
  • Chili Powder ( Max 1 tbs)

Literally just mix this all together in a small bowl, cook up some sliced chicken in a pan and dump the sauce in! I also chop up some celery, green onions, bell peppers, sliced carrots, tomatoes, and whatever veggies I have going bad soon (College student life!). Then I cook up some rice or quinoa and mix it in with the chicken and sauce and viola! Yummy "I totally know what I'm doing, I don't eat pizza pops anymore!" college student dinner! FR tho this is delicious, especially if you have some sweet chili cock sauce and kewpie.... <3

Anyways, that's my suggestion for a yummy, easy dinner!!

Oooh, all of these recipes look amazing! I’ll definitely have to look into the BBQ chicken, my family and I love anything BBQ flavored.

Saint, your recipe sounds really good, very different from what I normally make though! It’ll be nice to cook out of my comfort zone for a bit. I’ve also never heard of “Bee Sting Cake”, it looks.. interesting! Not at all what I pictured in my head, to be honest. Y’all are making me hungry, though!

Omg totally gonna try that pastitsio. Wonder if I can find ground lamb somewhere....

One of my favorite recipes is a modified version of this Pizza Caserole! The modifications I make is I use neufchatel instead of cream cheese and I replace half of it with spinach! (using chopped frozen spinach is great too because if u heat it up to thaw it first then you don't have to soften the cream cheese! Perfect for people like me who never remember to do any prep for cooking LOL) It doesn't make it healthy but then at least you don't have to admit to people you're eating a straight pound of cream cheese. I really wanna try adding more ingredients to it!

Also I love making this fancy boxed curry recipe. It's a little time consuming due to the braising BUT one recipe is enough for three dinners if you freeze some of it! Super tasty. Also sometimes I shred one of the onions in the food processor before adding it and it makes the texture super nice.

Also this sugar cookie recipe has never failed to make me immensely popular at any social gathering I've brought them to. (ok only made them twice but trust me they're dope as hell.)

I have a lot of favorites. Here's a few of them.

Teriyaki Salmon

Bruschetta Chicken

Egg Salad

Quinoa Chili

I adjust the recipes to my tastes, but these are some basic guidelines.

I highly recommend roasted squash and carrot soup. You can google for the details but the gist is:

-1 butternut squash, peeled and cut into squares

-Some full carrots, peeled and chopped

-Onion, pealed and cut into cubes

Put all that goodness onto a plate and roast with a healthy coating of honey, cayenne, paprika, salt, pepper, and nutmeg

-Add the roasted veggies to some broth, mash it up

-Eat alone or with grilled cheese (my preference)

Perfect for cold days :)

The recipes I got in my head might be a bit too quick and easy for your taste, but as someone who is permanently tired they are life savers on my worst days so I figured why not put them here? :D

or at least this one lmao

Pot of Spicy Sausages and Pasta:

  • 4 sausages of any spicy variety you enjoy, I generally pick two different types such as cayenne + chili ones
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • salt and pepper
  • baby spinach, add as little or as much as you want
  • mushrooms (I usually pick common button ones, or champinjoner in my language)
  • heavy cream OR creme fraiche. If possible, pick creme fraiche with a flavor! If not, add the spices you best think would compliment this.
  • Pasta of your choice
  • Parmesan cheese if you want!

Put the pot of water on boil. Take another smaller pot for all the non-pasta. Dice the onion and garlics, throw into the pot. Let them sizzle as you cut up the sausages and mushrooms. I usually just slice them and throw in directly! Let it all gain color. I don't know how fast one's stove is, but around here I can usually throw the pasta into the boiling water. Add the cream, pull down the heat to let it simmer and get nice and thick. Add spinach last and fold it in until it has all shrunk down.

Drain the pasta, throw it all together in one pot, mix. If you want parmesan, add it about now.

Not at all as much work as it might seem, and it's all finished pretty quickly! Most of my cooking is aimed to being easy, fast but still packed with flavor as, again, I'm too tired to function properly even on good days. A friend of mine said putting beer into the sauce and let it boil might be good, too, so that's something to consider!

Oooooooo yes, my kind of people, have you ever thought of trying out some Asian recipes? One of my favs is Basil Minced Pork

Basil Minced Pork

Really delicious if you like savory and spicy food, usually you eat it with rice and a sunny side up, the basil is usually Holy Basil, but if you can't get that, normal basil is still fine, if you like it to be spicier, use red and green chili instead of bell peppers.
