Change how backgrounds are used

Fully support. I was honestly super bummed out when I realized your first option wasn't already how the game was, and as a person who plays for lore, it would be super expensive and take multiple IC years to get all of that SC, something that won't even feel worth it and would feel like just an SC dump.

I would prefer the first suggestion be implemented, but I am fine with both.

Came here to offer my ultimate support!

Though I think it should be both backgrounds and decors that should get changed to be wearable by multiple wolves. It wouldn't make sense for a bone or a carcass to be locked to a single wolf after 1 one use so why should decor/backgrounds be? Especially seeing how expensive decor is it really makes any apparel seem like a bad investment in the long run. Especially for people with bigger pack who would need to buy double the amount of backgrounds (who in their right mind would ever buy backgrounds for 100 wolves?).

Supporting because of how expensice backgrounds are the severe lack of SC earning opportunities to how expensive things are atm. In the future this may change and it’ll be much easier to get enough but right now it’s way less fun to play with how much money you have to put in to make it truly enjoyable to use all aspects of this wolf sim

Huge support. Backgrounds are expensive, so I don't use them on any wolves other than the most important ones since it would be way too expensive to put them on the less important wolves. It does however, annoy me a bit that the default background does not resemble the land my pack lives in. I would have a background on just about all my wolves if I could, but with a fluctuating population of over 20 wolves, and only being able to use each background on one wolf at a time, that would be...insanely expensive.

If I could spread out all the uses of one background between wolves at once however, it would actually be worth the investment. I normally only add a decor on a wolf if I'm sure I won't be removing it at any point so as to not waste a use, so personally this would be ideal for me.

I support the idea of making backgrounds have multiple uses and making them cheaper- the raccoon ones can be a fifth the price and a fifth the uses, while craftables could maybe just be crafted in lots of five single-use items. This would be nice for decorating multiple wolves. I don't really see the point in giving us five-use items that can only be used one use at a time.

Don't support.

A system like this would allow reselling of additional background uses. So like you buy a background, use it once, and then you just have another one to sell? I know it doesn't work that way but it kind of feels like you're duplicating the item. Like okay. There's a super rare item called the Blue Moon Background from when the game started. I could buy it for 100 GC. Use one use of it. And then probably sell it again for 100 GC with 4 uses because it's so rare. It probably wouldn't be a problem with newer or more common items, but it could most definitely be a problem with the rarer stuff and game-breaking.

Another point you made is that make backgrounds cheaper but give them one use? I definitely am on board for making backgrounds more accessible - don't get me wrong. In the beginning of the game the only backgrounds were 1000SC and this was impossibly hard to buy because SC was only available with the raccoon and exploring. 1 GC equaled about 50 SC, so you can imagine the struggle. This day, newer players have more access to backgrounds. There are recipes that allow you to craft backgrounds that can be found in explore, heck, many groups are giving these recipes away for free as there are too many of them ATM. Many only requiring large rocks, leaves, and branches link.

I think it's okay to have beginner backgrounds (easy crafted ones) - though I'd be 100% okay for a few backgrounds being added to explore, the same way we have a few decors. Then we have medium decors like the 1000 SC decors, lunar decors, and some other crafted ones. And then harder ones like limited time backgrounds. It gives us something to work for.

My final note is, yes. If you consider it that you can't use 5 uses at once, it can seem disheartening. But I always like to think of it as I'm paying for 1 use, but then when my wolf dies, I get more uses in the future. I can either sell that item, reuse that item, trade that item, etc

Edit: I also remembered that the wolvden admin team does a fair weekly raffle with backgrounds in it. While everyone can enter, this is only 5 SC. And this is also a cheap way to try for backgrounds at a low entry point.
