Reduced Reliance on RNG (from the perspective of a game maker)

I absolutely support 100% I was just completely destroyed by a lvl 5 wolf. My wolf is lvl 7(halfway to 7). I only got 1 hit in against the enemy wolf that took only 3hp.


The RNG REALLY needs to be fixed.

Big support for this from me too! Battling and RNG in general has just been very discouraging so far.

Yes please!! This is why I'm not playing LD until november ends bc its just not fun when the RNG is stacked so heavily against you. My almost level-9 wolf still gets destroyed by level 1s

I ran away having lost 27hp without landing a hit on an enemy 4 levels under me-- When the RNG does you good, it's a pleasant surprise, but when it does you dirty... It's an incredibly awful time that persists beyond the fight.

Instead of getting a couple percentage points of xp, you basically have to burn money on healing salves or use like 200-300% energy over the day praying you coincidentally heal instead of stepping on thorns. AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT-- *Please* make it so inspecting the water only gives only gives Healing Salve and drinking it restores at least a bit more than a salve does (maybe cure illness or grant a stat or something to make it situationally better than salve). The Den Materials are cheap and obtainable other ways exploring, I'm sure people inspecting overwhelmingly do so looking for the salve. Drinking has a chance to heal less than the wolf might randomly heal just from clicking explore, so make the change to make it more satisfying and reliable. Make the event slightly rarer and add new outcome to another that gives 1 of each supply if need be, just do that event justice.

But yeah, please devs, get rid of some of the RNG, the *only* way to level up a lead is through battle and it's absolute agony dealing with it sometimes.

I support reducing the RNG on battles. If I am twice the level the opponent is I should kick it's butt without losing too much XP. They should be quaking in fear of me, not smugly smiling while they beat the crap out of me. What point is higher levels if I lose to most of them unless I use a lucky foot. The battling is the only part of this game I'm not too happy with. I start out with full XP after usually using tons of salves and always end up losing so much XP whether I win or lose. But really, losing to half your level is just wrong. 

I dont think they should change anything about hunting though. I was getting large prey all the time until I moved to one of the 2 most difficult biomes. I knew I was going to get only critters. It shouldn't be easy in the difficult biomes. I think that is one area they do really well since the difficulty in getting prey goes up when moving to harder biomes. I dont want that to be easy.

I majorly support this. The way RNG is right now is horrible, and it makes most users not want to event attempt battles. Fights can be challenging, but when players feel like its not worth doings battles because of RNG something needs to be done to fix it.

When RNG can cause you to get your butt kicked by an enemy several levels lower than you, the RNG is bad. I fully support a rebalance that would make your level actually mean something.

just wanna say the overwhelming support and constructive discussion here is amazing to see!! very rarely have i come across wolvden/lioden players coming together civilly to address a problem within the game. when i saw the number of replies to this post i was expecting to read a heated debate, but everyone seems to be agreeing here! its like a breath of fresh air

i feel like suggestions like these should have priority over add ons that we don't really need right now. new roles, events, games, etc. this is a fundemental that should be fixed before we add on anything expendable. no game should be obnoxious and frustrating to play. 100% support

Yes please.

The battles and even hunts remind me more about gambling than following through well made plans and tactics,and there should be no way that someone way below my main wolf's level should be able to defeat me with such ease. For giving so low experience for a battle that I loose almost half of my health to isn't really rewarding.

The battling here is more broken than on LD not gonna lie.
