Button to delete topics

Support.

Don't most forums have "soft deletion?" As in, when a user deletes a thread it becomes invisible to users but not to moderators? If that could be done, then the moderating team here could help prevent abuse while allowing people to delete useless threads.

Later, if they were indeed deemed useless/empty, the moderating team could "clean them up" and permanently delete them to keep their own servers from being cluttered.

I support the 'flag for deletion' idea!

I support this idea! Sometimes posts only need to be up for a limited time.

Bumping this because I just had to post 'delete please' on like 5 different threads of mine I didn't need anymore.

A 'flag for deletion' button is also an alternative if not mentioned already.

SUPPORT! I think the creator should be able to delete their thread if they are not "using" it anymore. Also, a choice to delete your own comments to the thread, say if you posted something by accident, like a comment meant for a different thread.

Everyone who's talking about evidence being destroyed forgets that we can edit posts/replies, meaning you could delete everything you said anyways to get out of it. I support deletion, there's a lot of clutter, and if the mods want to have their own temporary archive like others have suggested, then that's fine! Also maybe implementing a block to delete/edit if the topic is reported so that the evidence stays intact. Otherwise, delete away!

Support to match Lioden´s system - adding a flag for deletion button

No support for banning deletion on replied topics - if you have something important, you can screenshot it. No point in flooding the forums with literally years upon years of unused topics.

No support for adding the deletion of individual comments - this on the other hand does more harm than good. One thread with 100 replies still takes only a single line in the forums, not cluttering it. If you really need your reply deleted, you can always just edit your comment to be blank. This system also allows comments to still exist, notifying people that there was something which has been deleted (a bid, a nasty comment), which makes it a little easier to prove at no additional inconvenience.

Oppose(?)
I was a little on the fence with this one. Mods can easily be contacted to delete forum topics (Report Topic > Other > Ask for it to be deleted). Rule breaks could use personal forum deletion as a way to cover their tracks and that's why I think a 'flag for deletion' button would be much better instead. The same could be done for individual replies and the feature should only be available for posters on their own replies/forums.
