Lands of Konran: A Semi-Realistic Wolf Roleplay {OPEN}

Posted 2020-11-24 12:26:24 (edited)

Guadalupe.||Numachi.||Expecting Female.||Location: The outskirts of camp.||Mentions: None, but are open.

Lupe started to groom herself a little near her tree, then silently watched everyone do their thing.

“I wonder if that warrior girl wanted to speak more..?” The she-wolf asked herself. She sighed just a little, and went on, grooming herself to pure perfection. As she was near the tree, she saw a beautiful Grouse feather, and she put it nicely behind her ear. “It feels nice, just relaxing here, by myself. Nobody to bother me with anything. It feels lovely.” She quietly laid down again, to rest a little bit before she’d go back. If you didn’t know her, you might have thought she was dead! But it was simply how she slept.

She dreamt about many things, actually. She dreamt about her children, her own childhood, food, the tree she was with, being a bird, etcetera. Only once did she wake up, but then she went right back to sleeping in her spot.

Hansha, Heiya, Huntress, Camp Clearing, Mentions: (Open :3)

As she thought of hunts and hares and sunrises, her tail gave off an irresistible urge to itch, and she twisted around and stamped good-naturedly on her own tail. Which reminded her of something she had wanted to do today. She looked up at the partially cloudy sky, thinking about whatever popped into her head. "But what about hunting?" She snapped her mouth shut awkwardly, she hadn't meant to say that out loud. She blinked her multicolored eyes a bit before looking around to see if anyone had heard her.

Hiyaku, Shinrin, Warrior, Edge of the Camp Clearing, Mentions: (Open)

Hiyaku crawled underneath the shrub, poking his nose out the other side. He felt something small and furry hesitantly touch his damp nose. He closed his eyes and the furry thing rested lightly on his nose, before quickly drawing away and scampering down a small tunnel in the undergrowth. The warrior sighed, whispering to himself, "Goodbye Little Hare." He backed himself awkwardly out of the bush, grunting as a sharp branch poked his pelt. His stomach rumbled as she sat up, and he looked hungrily towards the prey pile.

Song Thrush | female; herbalist | Shinrin; returning to Camp Clearing | mentions Hiyaku

Song Thrush had gone out to collect some herbs she didn't have as much of as she would like-- mostly yarrow, an herb with small white flowers that is useful for slowing the bleeding of open wounds, a fairly common injury. She had some yarrow held gingerly between her jaws as she was trotting back towards camp. Soon she would have to pass the Flame Oak or give it a huge berth if she wished to avoid it (and she did wish to), but the yarrow shouldn't be sitting in her mouth for too long if she wanted to preserve it for later use. The Flame Oak always made her uncomfortable, however-- remembering anything about her ancestors made her extremely uncomfortable.

With a small whine, she steeled herself and quickened her pace as she caught sight of the damaged tree. She couldn't prevent the scene of her mother, blue eyes wide and almost crazed, kicking the lifeless body of her son away from her and into the river. Whether she had meant to send him into the water or she had simply wanted him to go away, Song would likely never know.

Before she could shake it off, Song Thrush stumbled into a bush-- the bush that Hiyaku stood before. Song's ears picked up the sound of a rabbit startling into scampering faster into its burrow, and wasn't surprised to see which packmate she had accidentally run into. The one who talked to rabbits. "Uh, sorry," she mumbled through the flowers, standing up and shaking her fur out.

Hiyaku, Shinrin, Warrior, Edge of the Camp Clearing, Mentions: Song Thrush (D)

Hiyaku jerked around as a gray she-wolf, Song Thrush, he realized, stumbled into the bush where he had been meeting with Little Hare. "Oh, uh, that's okay. I was just... going to, uh... get myself some food. Preferably not hares of course." He rushed through the last part and shifted his paws letting his claws rake through the soft soil, noticing the bundle of white flowering plants that she was carrying. "You, uh, went to get herbs?"

Song Thrush | female; herbalist | Shinrin; Camp Clearing | mentions Hiyaku

"Yeah," she said, nodding. "Um." Song Thrush bent down and set the plants on the ground carefully, so she could talk easier. She still felt upset and began to wonder if Hiyaku could tell. "Yeah, we were running low on yarrow. Ah, were you-- I mean, did I interrupt a conversation?" Pressing at the back of her mind was the fact that the yarrow remained on the ground by her feet, and that she should probably move it back to where she kept the other herbs, but it wasn't that pressing. Anyway, she did feel quite bad about scaring the rabbit...

Hiyaku, Shinrin, Warrior, Edge of the Camp Clearing, Mentions: Song Thrush (D)

Hiyaku noticed that she was upset by something, but didn't say anything about it. He glanced to the side where the bush was. "Oh, no, not really. I was just, saying hi I guess, to a hare." He shifted his paws awkwardly. Nobody had ever really barged in, even accidentally, on a time when he was interacting with a rabbit, so he didn't really know what to do. "I can't exactly have a conversation with them though, I don't have that type of special ability," he blurted. "And I've only really "communicated" to one hare, so I don't know if its just with that hare or all rabbits and hares. But it's really weird, like I know that the hare I'm looking at is the one I've seen before." He poured all of this out in a fast rush of information and at the end closed his mouth awkwardly.

Kesuto / Loner / Kesuto's Den / Mentions: N/A

The tall brute yawned, stretching his forelegs for a few seconds before padding out of his den by the stream that parted from the Sitka River. Looking up at the sky, the loner noticed that he'd slept in. The sun was already filtering through the trees, creating a soft aura around what he mainly called home.

A lovely day for snooping around pack territory. He thought, smiling to himself. Let's start with the local neighbors, Shinrin. The male took a few laps of cool morning water before heading off into the forest, and it wasn't long before he could tell that he'd crossed the Shinrin Pack border based on the strength of the waft from their territorial markings.

Ears erect and pawsteps light, the male moved stealthily through the foliage, keeping away from twigs and crunchy leaves. "Just another day as a loner," he whispered to himself, his tongue lolling ever so slightly.

Song Thrush | female; herbalist Shinrin; edge of Camp Clearing | mentions Hiyaku

Song Thrush nodded thoughtfully. "That is... interesting. But nice. Having a friend that you can sit in silence with, I think, is good." Oh-- I hope that doesn't sound weird, or awkward. Does that make me sound antisocial? She couldn't think of anything to say to make that comment sound better.

"Um- I should put this in in the cave so it stays dry," said the she-wolf quickly. "Sorry." Should I offer to come back and talk more? I'm not great in social situations, no. Good talk? No. Um... "It was nice talking. Especially to another wolf who-" Who what? Talks to animals? "I mean, to you."

Terrible save, Song Thrush chided herself as she took the yarrow back to the little herb cave. She wondered if it would be nice to talk to him about birds. Birds were sort of like their rabbit to her Hiyaku. Kind of. Remembering that he had mentioned getting something to eat, she could catch him back at the prey pile, if she wanted.

Sugi / Shinrin / Lead Hunter / Camp Clearing / Mentions: Song Thrush

Sugi let out a quiet sigh, stretching out his forelegs as he looked around. He happened to see Song Thrush, the pack's skilled herbalist, walking into the camp clearing with some herbs in her maw.

Deciding to socialize a bit, he padded over to the she-wolf, a little smile on his face. "Hello, Song Thrush. How are you faring today so far?" He asked, curiosity etched across his features.

Upon further inspection, he could see that the dame looked a bit panicked. He wondered if she'd ran into a loner or another pack's spy. The thoughts made his hackles prickle, but he calmly waited for Thrush to answer, not wanting to make her more uncomfortable by jumping to conclusions.

Song Thrush | female; herbalist Shinrin; Camp Clearing | mentions Sugi

"Oh. Hello." Song Thrush dipped her head slightly in a respectful greeting. "I'm... doing well," she said hesitantly. She was doing well enough now. Sort of. She'd get over it. Worrying Sugi about her mental state (which was never perfect anyway) would probably be rude.

Oh-- right. Conversation. "And how are you?" His white eyes were making her feel a little claustrophobic as if she was being watched from all sides-- which didn't make any sense. The white eyes weren't exactly scary or incredibly unsettling, just striking, and her paranoia was making the stunning qualities seem a bit overwhelming today. Her eyes darted down, then back up to make eye contact, then she decided to focus on the bridge of his nose instead. The last thing she wanted was to make him feel self-conscious or as if he was being a bother because he wasn't. The problem was just her, as per usual.

(should I make her dialogue a different colour?)
