Lands of Konran: A Semi-Realistic Wolf Roleplay {OPEN}

Nousagi / Yama / Scout / Alpha's Den / Mentions: Sirius (I.D), Astrien (D)

The small female did not hear -- or see -- a response from her alpha. He must want to be alone then... Alpha's like that sometimes. She reminded herself, trying to make the situation better. She began to take a few retreating steps, pausing when she saw a small hawk circling in the sky before it trailed away slowly, carried by the breeze.

Ticking her ears to the side, she happened to hear pawsteps. Turning her head, Nousagi saw the lead huntress, Astrien, approaching herself and the Alpha. Dipping her head respectfully, the dame refused to meet her eyes, not wanting to cause any unneeded aggression.

"Good morning, Lead Astrien," Nousagi said in her soft, smooth voice. She could feel the she-wolf's gaze bearing into her, and her tail twitched closer to her hindquarters. "Beautiful catch you have there. Yama is so lucky to have you as our lead huntress," She added, offering a tiny smile to her.

"If you are wishing to speak to Alpha Sirius privately, I was just leaving..." She said quickly, then clenched her jaw, wondering why she always had to be so nervous around higher ranks.

Sirius | he/him | Yama Alpha | Location: Outside Alpha den | Mentions: Hallucinating...

As the male glanced around, he could see that camp was empty. Where had his pack run off to? Had he risen before them all, before even the hunters had set off to catch them prey? As the grayed wolf began to descend from his den, he still found himself unable to uncover any of his fellow Yaman wolves. Disappeared, gone, just like his parents. As Sirius scaled down the mountainous camp that the Yaman inhabited, he found dens to be lifeless, and the mist surrounding him to be growing progressively thicker, to the point where he could no longer see his own paws.

The Alpha furrowed his brow out of concern. He turned sharply on his paws to scale the towering cliffs back up to his own den, where he could oversee all of the pack. But when he arrived to the top of the mountain, he had found that all of camp had been plagued with the heavy fog, making it impossible to see even the tips of rocks.

Damn. I must be stuck in another nightmare. Sirius gritted his teeth and did his best to force himself awake, but once more, his mind had him stubbornly rooted in the hallucination. So he raised his head to the sky, only to notice that it had suddenly been dyed the same scarlet color as blood.

Astrien | Female | Yama Pack | Lead Huntress | Location: Yama Pack, Outside Alpha Den | Mentions: Nousagi, Sirius |

What is the Alpha doing? She wondered, watching him carefully. He didn't even notice her approach, and although her rank was nothing compared to that of an Alpha, it was still customary to grant some kind of attention. His grip on reality had been slipping lately, she remembered that much. Astrien averted her staring down to his muzzle, not his eyes. It was rude to stare, and it could be perceived as a challenge. Just as she had accidentally challenged the previous Alpha once. She wondered if-

'Good Morning, Lead Astrien'

A name came to her suddenly. Nousagi. That was what she had called the scout once before, so it must be her name. Her black and white eyes moved away from the Alpha's dark figure to the smaller, ash female. Astrien was taller than her, she noticed, and she found herself leaning her head down slightly, her pink nose wriggling as she tried to sniff her over the bloody rabbit in her mouth. Her formality humored the huntress, and she felt a small tug at the corner of her lips. She identified the emotion as amusement. Maybe she should start interacting more with the pack members...

Noticing a question had been directed at her, she paused for a second, letting her thoughts catch up and set the rabbit down carefully, avoiding looking at either of them. "Oh, right. I'm not here to talk though..." She mumbled, licking up what blood she could reach around her muzzle, being careful over her scar. She quietly pushed the rabbit towards where the Alpha had been, only to find that he had left. Confused, she whipped around, watching him walk down through the camp.

She moved towards the scout, silently, and spoke as low as she could next to the smaller one's ear.

"Nousagi, what is he doing?" Her tone was one of genuine concern. Astrien tended to avoid the Alpha, due to her loose mouth and easily irritable nature. But this was just downright odd.

Nousagi / Yama / Scout / Alpha's Den / Mentions: Sirius (I.D), Astrien (D)

Nousagi watched as the lead huntress looked down at her, and she cleared her throat nervously, watching her take in her scent, and later, put down the rabbit she'd caught.

The small female's ears perked up at the question, trailing after their alpha with her eyes as well. Relaxing as Astrien looked away from her, she stretched one of her hind limbs subconsciously, but she jumped slightly when she heard her voice right next to her.

"His hallucinations. They're getting worse. I think he needs to go to the Cave of our Ancestors soon... but I don't know the best. If anything, the Herbalist would." She answered quietly, her Russian accent thicker than the average Yaman wolf. "I think... he might be looking for something. Maybe you could snap him out of it?" Nousagi offered, along with a small shrug of her shoulders.

She watched as their alpha climbed up above his den, looking down at whatever it was he was seeing. Then, he looked up, and she could see his eyes seemed to have widened the tiniest bit. The dame was extremely observative, and it came in handy, given her job.

Astrien | Female | Yama Pack | Lead Huntress | Location: Yama Pack, Outside Alpha Den | Mentions: Nousagi, Sirius |

It did not go unnoticed to the huntress how Nousagi jumped when she spoke. Although Astrien could not smell fear, she could almost sense how nervous the wolf was. It made her want to laugh. Astrien could be a huntress, but she was no warrior. Although, the skills were rather transferrable,

Astrien watched the Alpha as the scout spoke, humming absently at what she said. Not that she didn't believe in the ancestors, but she did not believe that they could do anything about his hallucinations. Shame. Guess the Herbalist would have more work cut out for them,

She glanced at the scout. She wanted her to snap him out of it? Well, she supposed it made sense. The smaller wolf could be killed if the Alpha saw something that wasn't there instead of her. He would have a harder time killing Astrien, that's for sure. Her brows furrowed and her nose scrunched slightly. "Well, I know something that might work." She said, barely above a whisper, not quite paying attention to the Alpha.

The sounds of a scuffle, a fight, or some kind of disagreement always awoke pack members in concern. The Alpha, who is supposed to keep everyone in check, should react to that accordingly, no?

Astrien had now completely stopped paying attention to the Alpha, no longer aware if he had moved or not. Instead, she was staring at the scout as she had been before. It made her nervous, Astrien noted. Maybe this could work, if Nousagi was jumpy enough. In a blink of an eye, Astrien had spread her stance wide. An attack stance, her lips pulled back to reveal sharp teeth as she let out a loud warning bark, followed by the most gruesome snarl and growling she could muster. Without moving from her aggressive position, she flicked her eyes around, trying to locate the Alpha in case he charged at her.

Sirius | he/him | Yama Alpha | Location: Outside Alpha den | Mentions: Aurea [Hallucination], Nousagi, Astrien

He observed the sky, deeming its crimson hues most unnatural. A series of dark clouds began to overlay the sky and blot out whatever sunlight managed to shine through the blood-hued heavens. As he glimpsed upward, he could notice a sort of precipitation, one that was unnaturally dark. Sirius swore that he could hear a wolf howl, causing his attention to veer off elsewhere. At first, he could see nothing. Was it just the wind? But finally, he could see the silhouettes of wolves in the fog over the horizon, and suddenly, he noticed that he was no longer in his homeland. The terrain was instead meadows dotted with thick trees, a land that didn't belong to the Yaman wolves.

The strangers that marched through the fog did not wear coats of monochrome, either. From the wild forests came wolves of browns and creams, and from the meadows appeared wolves painted with gold and yellows. In the center of what appeared to be a battlefield was a single female, cloaked in fur that appeared to be a mix of both warring packs. From the sky rained hot and sticky blood that choked out Sirius, and practically blinded him.

The wind had picked up- he could hardly hear. As his vision grew dark from the falling blood, he could hear the faint voice of his mother: ...half-blood. It was all he could make out, as the faint sound of growling muffled her voice.

Sirius found himself standing on the ledge that overlooked his pack- he didn't know what he was doing there, nor if he was certain if he was awake. He felt rather skeptical about it- but he wouldn't tolerate a "superior" wolf growling at a scout. "...The Yama is family." The young Alpha finally grumbled in the direction of the huntress and scout. "...And you will treat them as such."

Aurea| she/her | Shinrin Spy | Location: Shinrin Outskirts | Mentions: None

She never could spy on the Heiya like she was supposed to, not after her Heiyan uncle told her the truth about her heritage. Being a half-breed between two mortal enemy packs...it was dangerous ground to tread on. She was certain that if her loose-cannon packmates found out, they wouldn't hesitate to punish her for crimes she didn't even commit. Fortunately, the Shinrin didn't know the truth- they knew her as nothing more than the daughter of a great past beta of their pack, end of story.

The spy silently marched along the edges of the Shinrin forest, contemplating. She was yet to be sent out on an assignment, but she wasn't exactly eager to take up a task from her alpha. The Yama were too far away- their land was rugged and almost impossible for an outsider to navigate. She'd know- she tried once before. The Numachi...well, nimble Aurea was capable of worming her way into the swamp, but it was still dangerous. Besides, the Numachi were open books, relatively. There wasn't much spying necessary there.

Which left them with their enemies, the weak Heiya. It was the only reasonable pack for a Shinrin spy to sneak into, but that was the last place Aurea wanted to head off to. One wrong step and she might accidentally reveal her true heritage.

// *me failing to remember who the half-blood is until I read it lmao* //

Nousagi / Yama / Scout / Alpha's Den / Mentions: Sirius (D), Astrien (D)

Nousagi's ears airplaned as she looked up at the lead huntress, seeing her eyes fixed on her. Whatever you're thinking, don't do it. She pleaded in her mind. Of course, that didn't stop her.

The small female jumped back, instinctively ducking her head and tucking her tail, closing her eyes tightly. A tiny whimper escaped the dame. Even though she knew it was just for show, she couldn't help but think of it as real.

And... it worked. She soon heard the voice of their alpha, and she let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness the she-wolf was so smart, thinking of a way to get him out without risking herself head-on, or anyone.

lmao I had to think about it a bit too xD

Astrien | Female | Yama Pack | Lead Huntress | Location: Yama Pack, Outside Alpha Den | Mentions: Nousagi, Sirius |
She couldn't help but feeling a twinge of guilt as she watched the scout almost immediately assume a submissive position. Her little whimper almost made her stop and check on her, but Astrien's gaze was fixed on the Alpha, waiting for a reaction. As soon as she heard his voice, merely a grumble, Astrien immediately stopped, straightening out her stance and glancing at the she-wolf next to her.

"Forgive me, Alpha." She said, lowering her head and fixing her gaze away from his eyes. She glanced at the scout, trying to convey as best as she could with her face that she was sorry for spooking her like that. She offered Nousagi a small smile, keeping in mind to keep her head low, in case the scout was still spooked.

Turning her attention back to the Alpha, she started speaking once more, her tone slightly weary. "It appears that... Well, I believe that you might be interested in seeing the Herbalist about your hallucinations." She worded her sentence as carefully as she could, brows slightly furrowed in concentration. Hopefully, it didn't come off as offensive. Or as a challenge. She didn't need to fight an Alpha.

Nousagi / Yama / Scout / Alpha's Den / Mentions: Sirius (D), Astrien (D)

Nousagi watched as the larger she-wolf shot her an apologetic smile after Sirius had spoken. She nodded softly, accepting her apology, and since she was already close to the ground, she decided to lay down.

Ears perked, she listed as the lead huntress offered her advice to the alpha. The ashen dame nodded once more, looking up at their alpha with her white eyes.

"I agree with Astrien," She said, flicking her tassel on the stony ground. "They could be getting worse, Alpha. You acted as if you hadn't even seen us. If you don't mind sharing... what was it about this time?"

Nousagi added the question with a hint of hesitation, but she was extremely curious as to what he saw.
