I haven't fully read everyones comments, so im unsure if this has been mentioned. But I like the idea of maxing out at 4 hunts at a time, as that means you can send one party to each of the four hunting zones in your territory. If one slot is taken, a scent trail may pop up, but a pack is already disturbing the prey in that area, so it "isn't a wise decision to go this way" and thusfor youre locked out. If thats the only large trail you get then oh well! Just another downside to getting that many hunts at once!

Also I would like to add:


This game is supposed to be a slow burn. You arent supposed to be able to feed 200 wolves in the beginning. Stats are VERY important and as a tester I can confirm that better stats means better trails to follow and better chances of taking down large prey if youre utilizing them properly!

I kinda think it should be # of wolves in the pack for 7+ rollovers to ensure it doesn't result the market being flooded with food, and to a maximum of maybe 3 parties at once... but...

Volinolona has a lot of very good points.

Full support! I'd love to be able to queue up hunts alternating between my two hunting parties. It would save a lot of time when waiting for energy to refill.

Support, especially the idea of having a max of four, one for each trail location. If you can train that many hunters to be that good, you should be able to send them out at once, so long as they aren't tripping over one another. This would also be very helpful for people who can only get on a few times a day. There'd be a lot of different ways to control it and to keep it in check, lots of ways it could be implemented to keep gameplay fair. 

Some responses to arguments and caveats I've seen on just a quick scan of the comments: 

This would flood the market with food. Considering how fast food gets snatched up off the TC, I think you'd need to dump in a ton of food to make it a problem. And, if all else fails, there's always selling it to the raccoon or salvaging it for bones. The wolvden economy does not rely on food to function. 

The RNG for parties must always be in effect, meaning that even having a 'perfect' party could still result in failed hunts. This is literally already the case. You always have a chance to fail hunts, you always have a chance to only find critter trails. 

The fail rate in difficult and challenging biomes must be significantly higher than that in easy and medium biomes. This is also already the case. As far as I know there still isn't anyone with high enough statted wolves to reliably find anything but critter prey in the challenging biomes. They're brutally difficult to hunt in. 

This is a form of population control. You know what else is a form of population control? The territory slot cap. The rising price of slots. The time required to feed and play with all of your wolves if you don't have feed-all-play-all. If you're willing to put in the effort to care for and train four hunting teams, why shouldn't you be able to then use those hunting teams?

Allowing for more hunting parties would almost certainly result in food items and entertainment item uses (at least those that are not part of a crafting recipe, excluding bones) being valued at racoon wares prices over time. I do not think that that is good for the game, and others may disagree. However, as it is right now, people who want to keep large packs may end up needing to buy food, which helps the prices and is probably good for the game market.

I do think there are way more conditions that need to be in place before I could consider supporting this (as Volinolona has previously mentioned). Especially if the # of active teams is tied solely to slots; someone could keep the bare minimum number of wolves to fill out the hunting party maximum and only get food to sell. All that it would take to get those slots is spending money on the game, too, which is why this suggestion also risks amplifying the "pay-to-win" aspect of Wolvden (Because you have to pay GC to unlock slots after a certain point, and you can trade GC for SC if needed)

There may be other ways to make food easier to acquire for large packs that have fewer potential drawbacks.

Support! I'd at least like to see being able to send two at a time. Even if it's expensive.
