Bluestar flowers, scientifically named "Amsonia tabernaemontana" is a North American native plant in the wet, sandy sites in thinly wooded areas, that normally bloom in the late spring time. They can grow up to 1-3 ft. (30-91 cm) in length, growing multiple smooth, narrow stems that bloom clumps of flowers at the tip. The stems themselves grow leaves that turn a golden-yellow in the autumn. The flowers are small, star-shaped blooms that are a light, silvery-blue. The coloration, as well as the change of color in the leaves is what was the motivation of this name, due to the fur color, and the eye color.
