Wisteria is a genus of plant, with numerous species underneath it, either from China, Japan, or North America, many being aware of the Chinese and Japanese wisteria being an invasive species in North America due to how fast it grows. The plant is a high-climbing vine that can get to 25-30 ft tall (7-9), and blooms in mid spring to early summer. The main difference between the Chinese and Japanese wisteria to the North American one is the amount of flowered clusters, the prior growing individual flowers on stalks from 1.5-2 cm in length with "hairy" pods,, whereas the American counterpart has shorter and denser clusters of flowers, with stalks less than 1 cm long, with its pods being hairless. The reason why people plant these vines is for the distinctive light purple color of its blooms, which is where the name of this wolf came from, and is used as a host for many pollinator's larvae.
