The Adder's Tongue Pack

The Adder's Tongue pack is still relatively young, having been founded only a few years ago during the end of summer. Moss, the first leader, named the pack after a grove of adder's tongue ferns that guided her to the woods where the pack resided for much of their early time. She is the current leader and well liked by the members of her pack. The group prides themselves in their hunting skills, and have three main hunting parties that provide for the pack, with smaller parties formed by younger members. Because it was founded during the change of seasons from summer to fall, the pack has a close connection to the seasons and particularly the transitionary period between them. Their closeness and admiration of these times of change mean that the group is often open to change, and are happy to take in new members and to change territories fairly often.

The Changing of the Leaves
By far the most celebrated tradition, the Changing of the Leaves is a ceremony that takes place at the turn of each new season. During this ceremony, pack members will decorate themselves with leaves and flowers for the oncoming season to remind themselves that change is a part of the Adder's Tongue Pack's identity. During a new lead wolf's first Changing of the Leaves, she will also be fully coronated as the leader of the pack, and must craft a crown representing what season her rule will be most connected to.

The Night of Council
An important part of the Adder's Tongue Pack is the need for discussion and agreement on the Pack Laws. In addition to the regular meetings and discussions the pack will have to decide on laws and problems they are facing, there is a time each month when the moon is at its fullest where members will join in the camp clearing to speak and challenge the different Pack Laws to ensure that they are the best for the pack. While typical law meetings only include the adults, all pack members are free to participate during the Night of Council. In order to prevent the discussion from becoming too personal, the meeting will be ended by a pack howl, to reaffirm the interconnectedness between all members of the pack.
