Oriole

Oriole is the third leader of the Adder's Tongue Pack. After the death of Rowan, many of the underlying problems that had existed since the pack's inception bubbled to the surface and there was an upheaval where many wolves left for a time, a trend started by the previous breeding wolf Shard's mysterious disappearance. However, Oriole's diplomatic and idealistic nature drew most of the wolves back in and the pack has been flourishing since then.
Oriole has yet to name an heir as she wishes to wait longer than her grandmother Moss did to name Rowan so that the fourth pack lead will be able to give more of their time to the Adder's Tongue Pack than her mother could.
Oriole is mates with the herbalist Wren, and often confides in her for guidance. Her mate is not as spiritual as past herbalists and so Oriole has taken on a more prominent part in the pack's spiritual health. With this progression, she has revealed the existence of the Lunar Plain to the pack, and instituted a new pack tradition. Because no one other than the lead wolf can enter the plain, there is a nightly farewell during the time it is accessible. When the lead returns, she brings gifts that are distributed throughout the pack. With these new gifts, some wolves have begun to take on other characteristics of the creatures of the plain, such as brighter markings and growing the Cnitharian tendrils similar to those the wolves have on the Plain.
