The further from home we are...the stranger things become.

Sky Watcher was never meant to be in the position he was in. He was never meant to be in any position at all, really. The youngest pup in the lowest ranks of his birth pack all but assured a lowly and miserable life.

A brother or two made names for themselves, by being larger and stronger and fiercer. But Sky Watcher was a dispassionate sort. He never waded into frays, never took sides, and lived as a shadow. Which could be a challenge as he sported a pure white (and gray) coat. It was nearly a magnet to invite trouble and bullying.

Eventually, bored by his lack of response, he was left alone. He was content enough to be so

But one evening, he took note of a wolf slinking about the edges of the clearing. He took but one sniff to identify her. Cloud Spots, one of the alpha's pups. She was to be mated soon. He couldn't blame her for trying to escape. The lout picked for her was large, and as thick of skull as body.

He vaguely remembered her from some chance encounters. While she was not friendly, neither was she abrasive. He had appreciated that. And so, when the alarm went off once she was discovered missing, he thought briefly of ignoring the situation, but chose to exact a revenge of his own devising.

He decided to go find her.He followed her scent trail into the Praire and eventually found her. He grew rather fond of her and eventally, shared his love with her. He and Cloud Spots decided to never return to their old life but to make a new one, right here. They started their own pack, which to this day, is called the Pack of Shady Leaves.
