Pack Lore

Alpha:

The Alpha leads the pack and chooses a successor when they're ready to. They can also change the Beta at any time.

Beta:

The Beta is the successor of the Alpha; or not. There is always a Beta that organizes patrols and consult with the Alpha, but it's only the successor if it's younger than the Alpha.

Herbalist:

The Herbalist collects herb, crafts medicines, remedies and salves and takes care of sick or hurt wolves. They also consult with the Alpha. When the Herbalist is getting old, it'll choose their successor.

Scouts:

Scouts explore new biomes or patrol them. When a scout becomes of age (no matter if it's dying soon or wants to become a mentor) or generally doesn't want to be a scout anymore, they'll apprentice a younger wolf to become their successor. Even if the other remaining scout is more experienced and didn't have an apprentice yet, the Scout that leaves will always apprentice the wolf since it's their successor.

Hunters:

Hunters are chaser, finisher or stalker. They hunt food for the pack.

Hunting Patrols:

A Hunting Patrol is a fixed amount of three chasers, one stalker and one finisher. Each Hunting Patrol has their own fixed biome to hunt in. There are threee Hunting Patrols in the pack; The Founders, the Quartz Hunters and the Gem Hunters.

Hunt Chiefs:

The Hunt Chief is the leader of all hunters. When an apprentice is going to be a hunter for example, it decides if it will be a chaser, finisher or stalker, as well as in which Hunting Patrol it's going to be and who'll apprentice them, as long as the Alpha agrees. When the Hunt Chief dies or retires, one of the Hunting Leaders will be chosen by the Alpha to become the new Hunt Chief. Hunt Chiefs also consult with the Alpha.

Hunting Leaders:

Each Hunting Patrol has their Hunting Leader. They decide which scent trail the Hunting Patrol will follow and will give their Hunting Patrols instructions while hunting. They also consult with the Hunt Chief.

Mentors:

There are two kinds of mentors. The first one are older wolves that educate pups and tell them stories; they enjoy their twilight years. The Alpha may come to them sometimes to search wisdom.
The second kind of mentors can be hunters, scouts, pupsitters or even a herbalist. It just means they have an apprentice at the moment who'll become their successor.
You can tell the two kinds of mentors apart because of the context.

Pupsitters:

Pupsitters don't sit on pups, they take care of them.

Headpupsitters:

The Headpupsitter doesn't sit with their head on puppies, they give all the Pupsitters instructions and decide which Pupsitter will take care of which pups. They also consult with the Alpha. When the Headpupsitter dies or retires, the Alpha won't choose a new one. All Pupsitters will come together to choose the new Headpupsitter together. Even pups that will become pupsitters one day are allowed to vote, as long as their eyes are open, so any time after one month and a half. If the headpupsitter has a pupsitter mate, they share the job.

1. Alpha and it's mate, provided the Alpha has a mate (Currently: Nut)
2. Beta (Currently: None)
3. (1) Herbalist (Currently: Tuuq)
(2) Scouts (Currently: Yvaerys and Xyzaerys)
(3) Hunt Chief (Currently: Iccalus)
4. Hunting Leaders (Currently: Vulpes, Wapitifrost, Iccalus and Elkberry)
5. Hunters
6. Headpupsitter(s) (Currently: Solaris and Acrux)
7. Pupsitters

Exceptions:

1. Pups and apprentices normally don't have a rank yet, even though a scout apprentice will probably earn more respect than a pupsitter apprentice.
2. To be a mentor who has served the pack for a long time is an honor. Everybody will respect them, even though they don't have a specific rank.
3. Wolves that are only temporary in pack will be taken care of, but they don't have anything to say or rights to decide something or a specific rank.

Families/Clans

SpoilerFamilies or Clans don't affect the relationships between wolves of different families/clans, it's just to make everything more organized. Families are often smaller, while Clans are bigger.
When a female gets pups of a Breeding Male (not important if the male is from the pack or from antoher pack), the pups will always be in the Family/Clan of their mother. When a pup is fully grown, it can also found a new family. When there is a pairbond and one of the wolves wasn't born in the pack, the wolf that wasn't born here can make their own family name or they can take the family name of the wolf that was born in pack. The pups can choose which family name they want to have, but they can also still found their own family later. When both wolves of a pairbond are born in the pack, usually, the wolf with the smaller family takes the name of the bigger family, but as always, they can keep their family name or the one with the bigger family can take the family name of the wolf with the smaller family. When neither the first or the second wolf of the pairbond are born in the pack, they'll create their own family together or make two different names. A family can also be named clan after it's big enough. Wolves without pups, pairbonds, etc. can also join a family or a clan. The Breeding Male is allowed to be familyless, as well as wolves that will only temporarly stay in the pack.

SpoilerARC/S: This is a project! The pack rescues pups from the Enclave to raise them. As soon as they're adults, they'll leave the pack!

Chaser Cave: Here live the chasers and future chasers of the pack, as well as the current Breeding Male and Hunting Leader of The Founders, Amarok!

Stalker Cave: Here live the stalkers and future stalkers of the pack!

Scout Cave: Here live the two scouts of the pack; Trickleflake and Sonnenpfötchen!

Medicine Cave: Here livse our Herbalist Reyna! When a wolf gets
sick, the wolf will move there until it's fully recovered, so it can't infect other wolves and has it's rest!

Nursery: Here live all highly pregnant mothers and Pupsitters of the pack, as well as the Headpupsitter! Also, nursing mothers can suckle their unweaned puppies here!
Once a puppie is weaned, it'll move to the cave of his future pack role or stay in the nursery when it's going to be a Pupsitter!
When the entire litter of a mother wolf is weaned, the mother will go back to her beforehand cave, based on her pack role!

Finisher Cave: Here live all finishers and future finishers of the pack, as well as the current Hunt Chief, Lavenderpaw and the Hunting Leader of the Quartz Hunters; Deguspot!

Mentor Cave: Here live all mentors of the pack that train the pups and enjoy their twilight years!
