Pack Research Report
May 29th, 2023
Things with the Alhavenlan Pack just keep getting worse ever since that attack. Now as we approach the winter months, the pack is struggling to catch any sort of medium or small sized game and quite a few of the pack members have gone hungry today.
Unfortunately, their luck continues to worsen. The pack has lost one of their experienced Team 2 hunters, Terys, as he decided it was time to move on and left the pack early this morning. We honestly never expected that wolf to stick with the pack for too long but he left the pack at the wrong time it seems. Now we've spotted the pack hunting alongside another lone wolf in an attempt to keep Team 2 at full strength. However, none of the pack members appear to trust this loner just yet and most of the hunts have gone poorly. Team 2's only managed to catch a singular caribou calf today and even that was quickly devoured by most of the young adolescents and starving pack members.
On top of all of this, Team 1's finisher Eirlen, has come down with Influenza and it has seriously slowed them down. As for Team 3, they're just as bad as the other two teams and have only managed to bring back a couple of stoats which the pack fought over briefly and quickly devoured them after things settled down.
I seriously hope things will turn around for the Alhavenlan Pack before winter hits. Otherwise, I fear that a few wolves might get fed up with the food scarcity and leave the pack. My crew and I will keep a close eye on the pack however and keep things updated if anything happens.

Pack Research Report
June 1st, 2023
This has been quite the start to the winter months for the pack! So, make sure to brace yourselves folks. This is going to be a bit of a long report.
To begin, I'd like to announce that my crew and I finally managed to get another radio collar on a new Alhavenlan Pack wolf! We've been struggling to locate the pack since Fenghi'lan's passing but thankfully Seranni was easily caught and released with a fancy new radio collar. Speaking of Seranni, we also have some exciting developments between her and the pack's alpha male, Irosylis! A few hours after she returned to her pack we managed to catch Irosylis flirting with her briefly before engaging in some rough play with her and their packmembers. This is amazing news and I cannot wait to see the relationship develop further between the two wolves. Perhaps she'll become the next alpha female next winter!
In other news, late last night it looks like there was a tense standoff between the pack and a large herd of bison which the bison unfortunately won. This was most likely due to Team 3's inexperience and as they attempted to provoke the herd too soon which almost resulted in a few wolves being injured. Thankfully everyone made it out okay as the herd moved on but Irosylis was quick to correct the young team. Shortly after that correction however, a fight broke out between Irosylis and the Team 3 hunters. The rest of the pack was quick to back up their alpha and by the looks of it, the former team 3 members were chased from the pack. The pack seems relatively unbothered by the loss of Team 3 which doesn't surprise me much. It just means they have less mouths to feed after all!
Speaking of the hunting teams, their luck seems to be turning around somewhat now! Team 2 has yet to tackle any medium sized game as of late but they've been rather successful hunting small game and thanks to their success, the majority of the pack is looking well-fed. Team 1 on the other hand has lost a few hunts here and there but remain successful in hunting small game and critters as well which the adolescents of the pack are grateful for.
Overall, the pack is finally starting to look a tad bit better despite how low the pack's morale is after dealing with Team 3's brief fight. But that appears to be all the news for now! My crew and I wish the pack good luck for the winter and we'll write up another report when we near the end of winter as always. Until then!

Pack Research Report
June 5th, 2023
The snowfall is slowly starting to lighten up as we near spring and with that warmer weather brings pests. Speaking of that, the pack appears to be dealing with fleas once more although the cold nights are certainly helping the pack maintain them. Thankfully only a few pack members appear to be dealing with the mites and hopefully it will stay that way until spring rolls around.
In other news, the hunting teams continue to do well! Teams 1 and 2 have brought back various small game for the pack and they've left hardly anything behind for scavengers like crows or coyotes. Additionally, only a few pack members seem to be going hungry as of late and are left gnawing at the bones until they decide they've had enough. But this is a good thing! Their luck is slowly turning around and maybe we'll see the pack tackle large game soon! They're at least catching enough prey for most of the pack to eat their fill after all.
But that appears to be all for now! The Alhavenlan Pack got lucky with having a quiet end to the winter months and given everything that's happened to them lately, I'd say it's a much needed reward. I'll get another report written up once spring arrives though. Until then!

Pack Research Report
June 8th, 2023
This is a day later than usual but for good reason! We've been closely observing the pack and logging their hunts recently as my crew and I are developing a new report layout! We've had quite a few curious souls ask about the pack awhile ago so we decided that it will be helpful to provide more information about the pack and show just how successful or unlucky these wolves can be at times.
Speaking of the pack, hunting has been rough ever since spring began. We're now in the second week of spring and the pack has yet to catch anything that will feed more than a few wolves at a time. Team 2 hasn't even had a successful hunt since the end of winter and Team 1's luck isn't any better sadly. But, when spring comes to an end I'll write a detailed log going over what the pack's caught this spring and whether or not their hunts have been successful so please keep an eye out for this report! If it goes well, I'll most likely continue writing reports in this style and will only post reports on the final day of the season.
Additionally, it looks like Rasdhea left the pack in the first week of spring. Her littermates, Siona and Tuelenas, remain although they seem to be a bit sad about her departure.
But that's all for now! I'll have a more in depth report at the end of spring. Until then folks!

The Alhavenlan Pack // End of Season Report | |
---|---|
Spring this year has been a trial for the pack and they've just barely managed to scrape by. Despite loosing many hunts and fighting over the remains of empty carcasses, the pack continues to stick together. Although many consider leaving. But, the wolves that continue to cling to the pack pray for easier hunts as they approach summer. | |

Pack Research Report
June 12th, 2023
1st Month (Weeks 1 through 4)This month has been covered in a previous report! You can find it here!
2nd Month (Weeks 5 through 8)The pack has had a bit of a shaky start to this month and it looks like the whole pack is on the brink of starvation. But, they appear to be rallying themselves as they move close to their southern border and begin to brave the Taiga once more. Team 1 refuses to enter the taiga and continues bringing down the random hare and a few porcupine while Team 2 tracks a moose cow down and kills it later in the month.
This large game would have easily fed the pack for weeks before. But, given how much weight these wolves have lost over the last month, they quickly devour the carcass. A few fights even broke out when the yearlings tried to approach while the hunting teams were still eating. These are worrying signs but hopefully this is the break the pack needed and that they'll return to their former strength later this season.
Additionally, the flea outbreak is steadily getting out of hand now. Numerous wolves show signs of being infected with the pests and I fear that it will only get worse as we get closer to summer.
3rd Month (Weeks 9 through 12)Things continue to get worse for the pack as spring continues. More wolves are beginning to leave as the food scarcity continues. Now they've lost two yearlings, Fisara and Shivalin. These two wolves were on the brink of starvation when they left and I seriously hope they'll make it out there. But, without the protection of their pack in their weakened state I fear for the worst.
In other news, the pack has continued to stick close to the southern border. Team 1 remains hunting within the Tundra yet they've only managed to kill a few porcupines while Team 2 reasserts their control over the northern part of the forest and brings down an elk cow early this month. Team 2's hunts later in the month are less successful but we're glad to see these wolves hunting in the Taiga once more.
As for the flea outbreak, more and more wolves are catching the stubborn pests and very few manage to rid themselves of the fleas. Only to end up catching them again after a week or two has passed. I seriously hope the pack will catch a break from these pests once summer arrives but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to take a rather harsh cold snap for the pack to finally rid themselves of these fleas.
Finally, as a small note I'd like to announce that the pack appears to be reclaiming their secondary hunting ground within the Taiga. They have yet to gain full control of the northern section of the forest but Irosylis has begun taking steps in that direction by marking and renewing their old borderline. Hopefully by summer these wolves will have reclaimed their old territory but we'll be keeping a close eye out for the pack of wolves that challenged them for the hunting grounds last autumn. That appears to be all for now though! We look forward to getting another report written up this summer, however we may try another different style to try and help break the information up a bit. But, until then we wish the pack good luck and we hope you enjoyed reading this long report!

Pack Research Report
June 14th, 2023
1st Month of Summer (Weeks 1 through 4)Alright, sorry for changing the report style so frequently! We're trying a couple of different options but I feel like this version is the one we'll be sticking with for the future. There will be monthly reports now so please keep an eye out for them!
Now, lets get into the pack news for this month! The pack's hunting continues go poorly as the hunting teams struggle to keep track of their prey and prevent them from escaping as the finisher prepares to strike. Team 1 has had the most success lately as we've seen them bring down a muskox calf and a porcupine this month. As for Team 2, these poor hunters have lost the majority of their hunts. However, they did manage to bring down a whitetail buck in the second week of summer which is good news! It makes me happy to know that these wolves are still capable of bringing down prey.
Additionally, I fear that Team 2 may start to struggle here again soon. Adhlea, the team's stalker, is getting close to 6 years and typically when a wolf reaches that age they stop going on hunting excursions as they don't want to hinder the hunting team's success. I seriously hope Team 2 can manage on their own without her, otherwise I fear that things may get worse for the pack.
In other news, the flea outbreak seems to be slowly coming to an end! These pests have been bothering the pack since the end of winter. Especially poor Eirlen who's been dealing with them since the first case was sighted and he has yet to rid himself of the fleas. But as of today, there is only two wolves who still show signs of fleas which is amazing news. After seeing nearly every wolf in the pack catch the mites, I feared that they'd never be rid of them.
Finally, we've sighted a few lone wolves lingering by the pack's borderline to the east. We're unsure if there's going to be another attack from a new group but we'll keep a close eye on things and see if these loners continue to become more of a present threat. But that's all for now! We'll have another report up soon so keep an eye out for it!

The Alhavenlan Pack // 2nd Month of Summer Report | |

Pack Research Report
June 16th, 2023
2nd Month of Summer (Weeks 5 through 8)Things continue to worsen for the pack as they loose their previous alpha female, Ella, at the start of this month. The whole pack mourns her loss however Ella's mate, Varogathe, seems to be doing the worst out of all of them. He's hardly ate and has been rather lethargic ever since. I sincerely hope these poor wolves will recover soon and that Varogathe will start doing better soon. He's still rather skinny from how poorly spring went for them and I fear he may have health complications if he looses any more weight.
In other news, the pack's hunting seems to be slowly turning around for them and they've even managed to reform Team 3 with Aenor and Leena. Team 1 continues to do well and feeds the majority of the pack with their kills as Team 2 slowly recovers and brings down a few medium sized game. However, we've seen Team 2 continue to do mock hunts to brush up on their skills and teach Seranni and Myathilen how to hunt better when it comes to large game. The elk herds in the Taiga are a bit stirred up as of late but hopefully Team 2 will start bringing them down soon!
Finally, it seems as though Adhlea and Elgadir disappeared briefly after their hunts in the 6th week of summer. Elgadir returned after spending a few hours away with Adhlea. As for Adhlea, we've seen her continue to participate with hunting but whenever her team returns to the rendezvous site she is quick to keep her distance and frequently wanders off. We're unsure why Adhlea may be hiding away from the pack but we'll do our best to keep an eye on her as summer comes to a close next month.
Additionally, the flea outbreak is steadily coming to an end. Only 3 wolves show signs of the pests and I seriously hope this outbreak will end when autumn arrives.
I believe that's all for now though! We've had a lot going on this month but we'll get another report written up next month! Until then, folks.

Pack Research Report
June 18th, 2023
3rd Month of Summer (Weeks 8 through 12)Finally, things are starting to look up for the Alhavenlan Pack after a long time of hardly catching any food to feed the entire pack. But there has also been something unusual. Adhlea, who disappeared briefly in the previous month is completely absent from the pack now. We've managed to catch glimpses of her a far distance away from the pack but she's a smart one and is quick to run the moment she spots any of my researchers. We'll try and get some better equipment to track her movements next month though as something seems off about her disappearance.
But, lets move on to the hunting news as we have lots to talk about here! Team 2 has finally put their new tactics to full use and it's finally paying off as we've seen the team finally take on large game in the taiga. Hopefully this luck will continue as it's reassuring to see the majority of the pack get their fill. As for Teams 1 and the newly formed Team 3, things are going a bit rough for them. Team 1 seems to have had a harder time going after their usual small game and Team 3 is in the same boat with the critters they typically go after. But with Team 2 finally getting back to their former strength, I don't think this will bother the pack too much. So long as Team 2 continues to keep this up for the coming months.
Regarding the flea outbreak, things are finally coming to an end as the cold snaps become more and more frequent the closer we get to autumn. Only 1 wolf shows signs of fleas and Eirlen has finally recovered from the pests. That poor wolf has been suffering with fleas ever since winter of last year! It's good to see him finally looking a bit better and less like a mangy mutt.
But that appears to be all for now! The entire pack is starting to look better and their morale has significantly improved with the successful hunts as of late. As always, we'll get another report after the first month of autumn passes so please keep an eye out for that as well and let us know if this report was a good read! Suggestions and feedback is always welcome here. Until then folks and stay safe!

Pack Research Report
June 20th, 2023
1st Month of Autumn (Weeks 1 through 4)Things are starting to turn around for the pack this month! By the looks of it, most of the pack is well fed and quite happy as we've seen them engaging in play again. They're also less protective over their food and seem willing to leave behind the bones and other remnants for the scavengers.
Speaking of hunting, Team 2 is steadily starting to return to their former strength within the Taiga! We've seen this team take down a massive moose bull in the second week which is amazing news! As for Team 1, they seem to be struggling a bit with locating any small game but hopefully that will change as autumn continues. Team 3 on the other hand is still learning how to hunt and with no experienced hunters joining their team, they get distracted quite frequently but occasionally they get lucky enough to kill a small critter or two.
In other news, we've seen Irosylis and Seranni spending more time together as of late. They've been engaging in some play as well to strengthen their bond it seems and Seranni is rather reluctant to leave his side now! Perhaps we will see a new litter this spring after all but we'll keep a close eye on this pair as we approach winter and keep you guys updated if she shows any signs of pregnancy!
On a smaller note, the pack chose to move northward into their territory in the second week of this month. I'll make sure to attach an updated map as this is the first time the pack has bothered with moving in months! But, that is all the news we have for now! I'm so happy to see the pack finally recovering from the terrible spring they had last year and hopefully they'll keep this up as we prepare for winter. We'll keep an eye on things as always and get another report out at the end of the second month! We'll see you then, folks!

The pack rejoices at the news of Irosylis finally taking up a new mate and are happy to see Seranni stepping into the role as alpha female of the pack! Pack Research Report
June 22nd, 2023
1st Month of Season (Weeks 5 through 8)The pack seems to be in high spirits at the start of this month as Seranni has stepped into the role of alpha female now! This is amazing news for the pack and I cannot wait to see this litter of pups when spring rolls around.
But, lets move on to the hunting news! To begin, it seems like all three teams have hit another patch of bad luck. All of their hunts have gone poorly as of late. But to add to that, Team 1 was also attacked by a cougar and it seems that Shebrasa was seriously injured in the fight. They managed to chase off the predator and thankfully the rest of the team seems relatively unharmed. Only one other wolf seems to be sporting new scars. But poor Shebrasa is hardly able to walk. Team 3 on the other hand is doing just as bad as they've only managed to catch the occasional stoat. As for Team 2, they've brought down a few moose as of late and I've noticed them doing some mock hunts on a few caribou herds as well. Hopefully they'll keep this up as the pack's going to need the extra food now that Team 1's down for the time being.
In other news, the flea outbreak that the pack has been dealing with since last winter has finally ended! No more wolves are showing signs of the pests and I seriously hope it will stay this way. I can't imagine the pack dealing with another outbreak again so soon after the last but it seems them moving to a different section of their territory has definitely helped aid them in ending the outbreak.
That appears to be all for now though! I'll have another report written up next month as always. Until then!
