INTRODUCTION

In your travels, you've come to stand in these gorgeous, sprawling plains, home to innumerable living things...including wolves. From scent marks you encounter, you determine this region belongs to Initiis Novis, a large pack that prioritizes peaceful and prosperity. As you continue onward, you stumble upon a small clearing, where you see pups romping about, adolescents chasing each other in play, and adults laying close at hand to supervise these youngsters. Around them, it seems the prairie itself is lit by starlight, fireflies topping every grass' blade as far as your eye can see. Someone clears his throat to your right, breaking you from your reverie...

"Welcome, friend," he greets, tone light and friendly. After a brief introduction, he smiles a little. "I'm called Phoenix Ascent; most call me Phoenix for short. I'm a hunter for my pack, Initiis Novis, and we call this prairie home. But on days I'm not hunting or resting, I help supervise this: a gathering we call Starlit Seas, intended to see wolves from our pack to those that will love and care for them. It's a great honor to do so, being one such adoption myself, as I've been told..."

Gazing to those wolves arrayed beyond for a moment, he returns his gaze to you again. "I might be out hunting on occasion, so you may ask one of my assistants for aid, should you need. But be aware of our guidelines. Should you cause trouble, I will be summoning Deadwood, though I'll find no pleasure in it. Unless Moirai finds you first. Believe me, I've never met a more difficult wolf in my life! So please respect and abide by our rules, unless you wish to face Deadwood or Moirai's ire; both are she-wolves I'd sooner steer clear of..."

A distant howl catches Phoenix's attention, bringing him to lift his head, ears pricked. "That would be my hunting team," he explains. "Time for me to go. I do hope to return to hear fond news of you finding a new packmate here!" Loping a few steps away, he pauses and looks at you one last time, a smile on his handsome face. "Welcome to Starlit Seas Adoption Center, friend."

Before more can be exchanged, Phoenix has turned and galloped away, his voice lifted in answer to his hunting party, his red pelt shining under a setting sun.

RULES & GUIDELINES

Please read these guidelines before posting a message in this forum to adopt a wolf or wolves!

1. I will always reserve my right to refuse an adoption, for reasons I see fit to disclose or not.


2. I will always prioritize a wolf's safety and wellbeing above all else. Should I deem you to be an unacceptable or unsafe home for my wolf, I am willing to work with you to fix issues and make your den habitable for my wolves. But should you refuse to fix an issue or do not see an issue, I will refuse to adopt a wolf to you.


3. Excluding in cases of inbreeding, I enforce a strict "no chasing" policy. I will note down every wolf I adopt out and check in periodically. Should I find that a wolf I've adopted to you has been chased without my consent or knowledge, you will be placed on a permanent blacklist and be prevented from adopting other wolves, as well as being prohibited from benefiting from Starlit Seas resource system; no exceptions.
   
   
   • I am open to being messaged about a possible chase for a wolf I've adopted to you, as I support Raise and Chase! But please respect my answer and know that you'll still be placed on my blacklist should that wolf be chased in violation of my request.
   
   
4. Be polite and respectful to everyone in this forum. This is Safe Space. I will not tolerate hostile, abusive, or hurtful words here. No outside discussion should occur here, particularly regarding controversial topics, including religion or politics; this is an adoption center, not a discussion board! Keep personal disputes to PMs. I will not intervene on your behalf unless absolutely necessary, and not for matters that do not concern me. Poor behavior and impolite conduct will earn you a place on my blacklist, a block from me, and even a report to WD staff, as needed.
   
   
5. I permit changing a wolf's name and written lore, unless noted otherwise for specific cases.


6. I will always note inbreeding in a wolf I adopt out, as well as COI or lack thereof. Should I fail to find and note IB, I apologize, as it was not and never is intentional.


7. I ask that you check in with me before re-adopting a wolf out. I will always accept surrenders; there's no shame or judgement in doing so! This check-in is to help me document who owns a wolf, so I do not blacklist an innocent person, should this wolf be chased by a new owner. This has happened before, hence why I am placing an extra step to prevent this. I will not ask for a surrender fee at this time, but that is subject to change, as needed.


8. This adoption center runs on a first come, first serve basis; no exceptions. Don't go PMing a wolf's new owner about acquiring a wolf that they've acquired from my adoption center. I'll always present new and lovely wolves for adoption, don't worry! I'm certain you'll find someone here that calls to you, one day or another.


9. Please post a request to adopt as a message in this forum, not as a private message to me. This is to allow everyone to know who's been adopted and who is still available, to prevent confusion.


10. Include "stardust" somewhere in your initial message to indicate you've read these rules and will agree to abide by them. I will keep my two separate lists for accepted adopters and blacklisted users private.

Should I discover you are not tending your wolves using these resources, you will be permanently banned from requesting resources from Starlit Seas, no exceptions.

Here we'll document all successful adoptions from Starlit Seas! This will include an adopter's name, a wolf's name, and an adoption date. This is used for tracking purposes, to ensure all wolves from this adoption center are safe and well-tended; as well as to note who's adopted before, regarding our resource-sharing system.

ADULTS

As Ajita has since left to hunt, you continue on to come across another she-wolf, sprawling under a gnarled and withered bush, watching as pups play in an open clearing before her. As you approach, she looks up at you, her expression pleasant and friendly.

"Welcome," she says as she gets to her feet, nodding her head upwards in a sharp gesture, her intent to readjust a cute pair of silver glasses adorning her muzzle. "I'm Delilah, Ajita's help around here, in Starlit Seas. Did she mind her manners?" Snorting, she rolls her eyes. "I'm fond of her to no end, but Fates, she's coarser than sea-salt on occasion." Padding off, she glances behind her at you. "Well?" she queries. "Don't you want to meet those seeking a new home?"

Leading you through tall grasses tipped by fireflies, blinking like a million stars were scattered across the world, Delilah stops before another small clearing. Here, you see several adults waiting. Some lay and drowse, some wander, still more pace. "Go on," Delilah encourages you. "Go say "hello." I'm sure you'll find someone who'll be a fine addition to your pack."

ADOLESCENTS

Delilah awaits you. Once you're ready, she pads onward, deeper into her domain, to lead you to more wolves who seek a new home. Glancing behind her at you, she adds, "I do hope you're not too overwhelmed. That is not our intent. All we want is to maintain peace and harmony in our lands, and extend that tranquility beyond our borders."

Delilah halts at another clearing, where you see energetic juveniles bounding across and around a rocky obstacle coarse, barking amongst each other. Laughing softly, she quips, "A bright bunch, aren't they? Days spent tailing our hunters and scouts still isn't enough to burn out that youthful energy." Shaking her head fondly, she nods for you to approach. "Come, young ones!" she calls. "We've a visitor! And mind your manners, all of you!"

Perhaps you see Delilah fix a particular adolescent a look, to which this adolescent dips her head in respect...though her wagging tail spells nothing but trouble.

PUPPIES

Once you free yourself from such an exuberant greeting from all those adolescents, Delilah nods for you to follow her onward. "Our puppies will put those adolescents' greeting to shame, as energetic as pups always are," she laughs as she walks. It doesn't take long at all for you to come upon a small valley, nestled among rolling hills to form a safe haven for pups to play, under watch by dutiful pupsitters. As adults on duty greet Delilah, who greets each in return, puppies lift ears in curiosity. Before Delilah can even open her mouth to call them to greet you in an orderly manner, they're upon you, all around you, yapping and wiggling in excitement to meet someone new.

Delilah restores order in a quick and precise fashion, giving you that crucial room to...well, not be amidst a puppy pile. "Apologies, my friend," Delilah murmurs, ears falling flat. "That should be all you'll see of that nonsense, I say. Puppies...!" Lifting her ears up again, it's business as usual. "Well, we've plenty of pups who are looking for a new home. Do go around and say "hello." I've not seen finer pups in all my days!" After that, she pads to one side and flops down beside an aging she-wolf, watching and waiting in peace.
