My thoughts on the story, feel free to ignore the wall of text lmao.

I don't really like that they went along with what the Faelcu wanted. They didn't put up a fight and barely argued - I thought they wanted to make a proper agreement that was fair on both sides, not let the Faelcu make the rules. That choice affected everybody, therefore shouldn't be viewed with the heart but with the forethought of how massive of an impact it would have for all. Acting as the lead, Sirona should know that. If it were up to me, I wouldn't have agreed. Not sure why they would trust the Faelcu anyway and willingly get rid of their only protection against them, there's no real proof they follow their word other than stating that they do. I don't know how strong Faelcu are, but I was hoping the mortal wolves would defend themselves if need be. But they didn't even try, which was frustrating.

Also, I don't like how silent my lead is. It feels like most of my dialogue is either nonexistent or stuck to little one-liners. ("You lied!" being an example.) It seems strange that my lead says something, then another character picks up where my lead left off. Why couldn't it be my lead saying some of these paragraphs? Why must it be Sirona and Quany that have all the important discussion? My lead is affected too, she should be piping up more. Especially mine, as she's meant to be headstrong and not willing to back down in the face of adversity. Obviously the story isn't going to carter to my one specific lead, but I was hoping that, as a lead wolf, my character would be more willing to stand up for herself, her pack, and her friends. But much like the other characters, she just kind of wilts and goes along with it.

I barely made an impact in the story, really. Take my lead out and barely anything changes. It almost felt like there had to be an excuse for the Faelcu to even acknowledge me, I mattered that little lol. Everything of importance was given to Sirona and Quany. The only significance was deciding whether to get Lowen or Conall back. Which as Dżanek mentioned, is extremely strange. My wolf doesn't know these guys, especially not Lowen. How could I accurately make a decision on this when none of these wolves really mean anything to me? I helped them once a year ago, now I'm choosing the fate of one of their own? I just chose Lowen because that's who we were looking for originally, last year. Sirona and Quany definitely should have made that choice, not me. Yes, it makes sense in a CYOA, but logically, it makes no sense.

I like Lorcan, he seems a bit goofy. Over here, crushing on my lead who has more important matters at hand lmao. Wish he was involved with the ending, but maybe that was my storyline path. Pretty funny that Quany said he wasn't going to get in middle of the disagreement between Lorcan and Sirona, only to immediately backpedal that statement by admonishing Lorcan for not respecting Sirona. Did you want to get involved or not, sir? xD

Don't take this post too seriously, I'm just having fun. Writing is my passion, so I like to go on about it and critique some things and the characters on their decisions. I wouldn't do that if I didn't enjoy this storyline overall, because then I wouldn't care about it. I hope there are more story-oriented events, they're fun and the worldbuilding is cool to see. Excited to see if next year will hold ramifications from what happened in this chapter! :)

I really agree with your thoughts on it, Whirligig! They chastised my wolf for saying "Interesting..." in response to the Faelcu, only to then go along with what they wanted, continuing to let them take wolves in exchange for ONE wolf. It felt selfish.

The fact that you guys either can't remember/are struggling to remember Conall proves that we should not have been deciding anything regarding him lmao. x'D

Conall is the guy on the right, Chaorainn's pack leader.

Edit: 🌵NIB Brachy Breeder🌵, I think you're thinking of Quany.

I dunno Whirligig, you can't be more impartial when making a decision like that than thinking "Conall who?" then changing the course of their life & trotting for home.
