"I wont buy that, the heritage is too long!" (Even when its not inbred) "I wont buy that, its inbred 3 pages back!" "Its not an NBW!" "The stats arent high enough, but it better not have a long heritage!" Its getting so frustrating. What is the point of even breeding on a breeding game if this is the end result? As a breeding game, the goal should be to improve the wolves (Stats and marks), not stagnate the economy and flood it with unwanted pups because of a heritage that goes back 5 generations or more. I can understand the fact that the heritages are sometimes 16 generations long, but that is no reason to be prejudice against breeders and reject perfectly beautiful well statted pups. Even TIII bases are rejected despite no inbreeding. As for inbreeding, yeah I can see that being unattractive, but the fact that it has no in game effect should also have no reason for people to get weird about it. Its a game, and its not real, but there are some heavy prejudices against it, and as a result its hurting the economy as a whole along with long heritages. Inbreeding is a choice though, and therefore, careful breeders can still achieve stats and marks without inbreeding. You can bet if inbreeding offered random mutations, the attitude would change very quickly. I'd rather an item to wipe the heritage past page one or two at least. I'd pay 20gc or more for something that could wipe heritage past a certain point for the right wolf. Ultimately though, I think there needs to be an overall attitude change toward long heritages. It takes careful breeding to make a long heritage wolf that is NIB and has good stats and marks. Way harder than customizing an NBW and claiming its NIB. |

As it is, inbreeding is only tracked back so far, so you can absolutely have a wolf with a 0% IB and if you check their lines, there is inbreeding somewhere further back. As for wiping a family line, strong no support. This would cause chaos in the breeding economy. It would basically create artificial G1s, because if there is no family history, even if every wolf is just changed to "Unknown" then it wouldn't share any lines with other wolves in-game, which is the same as a G1. This would greatly devalue all naturally found G1s. Afterall, what's the point of befriending rare wolves if I can just breed my perfect T3 10M mutated wolf and then wipe its family history? |
