 sourceName: duskbright Gender: male Pronouns: he/him Orientation: gay Age: 51m (about 6.1 years) Clan: FroryClan Rank: leader Appearance: a smaller white harlequin with splotches of black on his head and back, and dull yellow eyes. His fur is somewhat tousled, and he often looks tired. His ears are nicked from years of battle. You can sometimes still smell the scents of herbs on his pelt, faint hints of mint and rosemary. He is missing his left top canine. His muzzle is starting to fleck grey. Personality: Although once playful and energetic, duskbright is a shell of his former self since he was demoted from apothecary. He is often tired, and usually seeks a peaceful solution, although his patience wanes quickly. He isn't great at fighting or hunting, something that he's ashamed of, but likes to think of himself as a diplomat. He likes to sleep, and can be very reserved. He has a very pessimistic view of the world. History (Optional): (TW for overdose) Duskbright originally wasn't going to be a leader, or a warrior at all. the harlequin was a good communicator with starclan, well liked by peers for their skill and their good temper. But Duskbright also found themself wanting to be loved, and in a bad decision, initiated a relationship with the she-cat Batwing. It didn't feel right to him, but it was supposed to be right— who wouldn't want a mate? The relationship ended when Duskbright realized he didn't want to be in a relationship with a she-cat, but Batwing was already pregnant, and when she gave birth to the two kits Darkkit and Shadekit, Duskbright gave in and told the clan the truth. They were demoted from apothecary, and the two considered leaving FroryClan altogether. But they feared the taiga— two kits and their parents couldn't survive in leafbare. So they stayed. But StarClan had different plans. They sent a vision, saying that the deputy Viperfang and leader Frostbite must be rid of or FroryClan would fall. At first, Duskbright didn't want to do anything. Why should he? StarClan didn't help him or Batwing when their secret was revealed. But they begged, even threatened. Eventually, Duskbright gave in, and sought out ridding of them in his own way. He o'ded them both with poppy seeds and left them out of camp, arranging a fallen branch to make it look as if it struck them. Although Duskbright succeeded as leader because he told the clan that the death of the two high ranks was a sign that they weren't meant to lead, he never told the truth except to Batwing. Has dusty gray paws, tail and ears. (They are a Lambkin for reference) Personality: Airheaded, friendly and a bit slow when just being with other cats. However when doing his job, they are smart and intuitive, able to easily find and cure the problem. Other cats say that the reason Mallowleaf is so airheaded is because all of their serious thoughts are only on their job. Has a bad memory when it comes to anything but their job. +++ Calm, friendly, wise about herbology /// Spacey, pacifist -- -- Cowardly, bad memory History: Mallowleaf was born in the now-elder Whiteclaw's only litter, along with Flareshine and the still-born Pikekit. Whiteclaw had mated with a rouge and was already in an awkward position among her clanmates, and it was made worse when she realized Mallowleaf was noseblind. Mallowleaf always wanted to be an apothecary, inspired by Duskbright. Despite being told they couldn't multiple times, even as a kit Mallowleaf was in the den memorizing herbs and where in the territory they grew. By the time Mallowleaf was made an apprentice they had impressed the current medicine cat and was made their apprentice. Mallowleaf learned to identify illness and infection by visual and audio signs alone. Has a mixed reputation with their clanmates, as some find them friendly and enjoyable to be around while others think him dumb and unqualified. Mallowleaf also wishes to have a significant other but no one has sparked their interest.  source Name: Polarfreeze Gender: Tom Pronouns: He/him/they Orientation: Pansexual Age: 16 moons Clan: FroryClan Rank: Warrior Appearance: Polarfreeze, like his namesake, is a big guy- and not just in fur. He has a massive stature that some might consider being gigantic, but it all comes at a cost. Despite his young age, the weight of his towering form and thick fur has become burdensome on his joints, creating some painful mornings for the warrior. He has long fur that comes in thick, semi-wavy locks and is difficult to groom due to the sheer amount of it. He is a silver lynx point by coloration, and his eyes are nearly as blue as the ocean on a calm, sunny day. Polarfreeze has a high amount of white spotting, giving him white mits, a blaze on his nose, and a white lion-like mane. Personality: +++ Companionly, patient, faithful // Mellow, stubborn --- Difficult, dogmatic, disobedient Polarfreeze is an overall great fellow and good friendship material. However, he's the definition of stubborn. He likes to lay down his own rules and stick with them. He's not keen on being told what to do if they don't align with his own ideals, and swaying him to one side or another is easier said than done. The warrior is, fortunately, very patient with his clanmates and willing to take his sweet old time if necessary. That's not to say he's a lazy lump- he's very faithful in his service and certainly a cat to be relied upon. He's comparable to a senior warrior in the (sore) body of a young cat. History: Polarkit wasn't born into FroryClan, no- he was born to a long and proud line of HazeClan warriors. He was the only kitten in their litter, as to be expected of his family line. They usually only ever had a litter of a single, large kitten. His parents were immediately proud of him, and he was promptly born with a lot of expectations on his shoulder. Including ending a long-standing family war. He was betrothed at birth to end the generations-long feud and unite their powerful families at long last. As a kitten, he was innocent and oblivious to this concept- Ternkit was nothing more than a playmate to him at the time, one that he frequently squished by accident. At the time, everything felt perfect- his parents loved him, and the nursery was filled with nothing but happy moments. And then, he got older. Then, he started to understand. Ternkit wasn't to be just a clanmate- she was to be his mate. They were to have kits together some day, to end a problem they never started. Suddenly, Ternkit was gross to him, a source of cooties and fear. He avoided her at all costs, but their parents were intent on forcing them together. Ternpaw and Polarpaw were frequently forced to train together. It felt like the whole of HazeClan was against him, and Ternpaw...how could she possibly be ok with it all? Polarpaw's parents argued that he was merely being stubborn, that he'd learn to love Ternpaw with time. But he was adamant on being free- the feuds of his parents and grandparents wasn't his problem. That was their own issue. As they aged, Ternpaw was still ok with the whole idea. She always seemed like the responsible sort- Polarpaw was good about duties, but...he wasn't ok with all of that codswallop. He just wanted to be a good warrior, and on his own terms. Training got increasingly difficult- mostly because this responsibility was weighing down on his shoulders, but also because he was getting so big. He constantly complained about being in pain, but the warriors dismissed it as his way of trying to get out of training, of getting an opportunity to be away from Ternpaw. He earned his warrior name, "Polarfreeze". Ternpaw became "Ternswoop", and their parents continued to pressure the idea of their relationship. Ternswoop was in love with the idea of responsibility, and chastised Polarfreeze from trying to escape the situation, to run away from what was his responsibility. It felt like nobody would ever listen to him. So, he left. He ran away from it all. The night before the huge unison ceremony planned by their families, Polarfreeze fled for FroryClan. He can only hope that, there, he can live his own life- not the life of his ancestors and their mistakes. Honeykit was left alone, as Pondripple had completely shut down. He refused to eat, parent, move. He just slept in Scatteredpine's empty nest in the warrior's den. He grew weak, the apothecaries trying to get him to eat or get up, be Honeykit's father. But he just... Wouldn't. Not two weeks later, he too, had passed away. Honeykit was alone. He was nursed by a monarch who also had their own kits. Honeykit had struggled with relationships as he grew up, not attaching to the monarch he nursed from, or their kits. He grew up reserved, only making one friend; ___kit. He was the opposite of Honeykit, outgoing and loud. They were friends even through their apprenticeship, and after Honeypaw became Honeytree, he realized he had started to feel... something for his friend. It was a strange feeling, but he felt like he could trust him, and that he wanted to be closer somehow. ___ confessed to him one day, and Honeytree was conflicted. He knew he felt deeper than friendship for the other cat, but being physically close in a mate-wise sense made him uncomfortable. He told ___ he wasn't sure of his feelings, and would like to think on it. A moon later, he confessed that he felt the same, his feelings growing stronger as the days passed by. They became mates, and thus began their on and off relationship. Honeytree would often lose feelings, the idea of that closeness being uncomfortable, and he ticked it as falling out of love for ___. And sometimes he wanted nothing more than to be close to him, hold him, share his nest with him. At this current point in time, the two cats are not together, Honeytree not having felt anything for him in a few moons. And despite the fact that he knew they'd always end up together again, some part of him wondered if this was it for their relationship, as he hadn't felt anything in a long time, not even an inkling or an urger.
