Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Camp

She followed him out of the den, stopping seeing the squabble. Heatherstump didn't seem to interested in dealing with them, and led Fadedpaw to the freshkill pile. She studied it, counting only four mice. Her stomach grumbled, but she counted; one queen, two young apprentices, and a small kit. Not to mention the elders. She looked up to Heatherstump, a turn on her lip. "I think it'd be better to save these for more vulnerable cats who need it more." She took a step back. "Maybe there will be more after we come back? Plus I ate last night." She didn't want to give up eating, but it would be best to let the others eat. Besides, it might make some ShadowClan cats see the good and trustworthiness in ThunderClan.

Amberblaze - Warrior - She/they - Location: Camp

"Who's to go then Applestar and how far?" The ShadowClan cats were a problem for another time. Amberblaze figured that in the end they would want survival just as much as the others, and it wasn't necessarily up for debate who was in charge. Of course, they were understanding of the situation that the ShadowClan cats were in. While everyone had lost something during the trying times, they had lost their leader.

They rose to their paws, maintaining steady eye contact with Applestar. "The terrain didn't seem very friendly while we made over way here, and I worry that if we travel too far or too late into the day cats may be injured. I think this is important to consider." Her hindquarters met the ground again as they rested their case.

Without the apprentices it would be slightly less risky, but the only queen in camp surely couldn't keep an eye on them and her kit. Plus, all the warriors being out would be far too risky to the safety of those who had to remain in camp. They hoped Applestar had thought of the same things.

HeatherStump - Medicine Cat - He/They - Location: Camp

Pride bloomed in his chest as she said that, his eyes softening as he nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure there will be more when we get back." He agreed, gesturing towards the camp entrance. "Ready? We're going to try to stay near camp though in case something happens and so we dont get lost, alright?" He asked, getting to his three paws. "Let's head out, we dont want to be out when its late." He said, making his way out of camp with a flick of his tail asking her to follow.

Stormclaw-Warrior-He/Him-Location: Camp

Stormclaw was a bit shocked at Applestar's scolding tone. The clan needed their strength in order to patrol, and it wasn't like they had gone very far from the camp itself. The entrance had been in sight the entire time. Stormclaw whisked his tail in silent irritation. "I don't think it's gluttony to make sure that everyone is well fed and at full strength, Applestar." Stormclaw answered. "Besides, we have a nursing queen with a young kit. But I respect your wisdom and I apologize for leaving camp and for bringing Snowwhisper with me. It wasn't his fault." He glanced at Snowwhisper apologetically, he never meant for anyone to get scolded. He just thought they were doing something meaningful for the clan.

The former Shadowclan cat knew that he needed to get used to the fact that he had a new clan leader who just had different expectations then his former leader. He also knew it would take time to adjust to this fact, but he would prove that he was loyal and could take orders.  He sat down, looking back towards Applestar.

Applestar - Leader - He/him - Location: Camp

The ginger tom offered a small shake of his head. "You seem to be misinterpreting and exacerbating the situation far more than you should. I am not sending the entire clan on this patrol, Crowheart. I will be sending a group of capable warriors to explore and establish borders- that's not to say we need a huge expanse of territory that'll take all day. The rest will remain here and work on reinforcing dens and protect the young and ill, or receive the necessary medical treatment for their cracked paws." Perhaps Darkstar had ShadowClan warriors patrol all day by themselves, but Applestar wasn't going to have that. They'd traveled for days, they'd finally settled, and they'd lost hope now that the stars had vanished. They needed to conserve their energy and prioritize their safety

"If the cats on patrol so happen to come across a scent trail, they're welcome to hunt and bring prey back, but they're not to split far off and risk endangering themselves or stranding the patrol. Heatherstump and Fadedpaw are already stretched thin." The lanky feline motioned towards the cats who'd already received treatment at dawn, so as to prove his point. "Our safety is a non-negotiable point. Cats won't die from missing breakfast, but they will be killed by predators if their guard is left down. Understood?"

The leader moved on, so as to solidify his statement. These orders were orders- it wasn't up for debate. Borders needed to be established. The queens might be hungry for a few hours, but it was better off than them being dead. "I am on not asking you to go on a giant escapade- just the immediate surrounding area to keep camp secure, and perhaps a small zone for hunting. This won't take all day, I promise. Borders can and will be expanded as we strengthen. Remember that this is only a temporary home until we find...answers".

Since Crowheart seemed so high and tight about the border patrol, Applestar considered excluding him from the patrol. However, he didn't want the warrior to think he'd get away with his outburst. They were a single clan now- it was time to put feelings of rivalry in the past. "Amberblaze, Crowheart, Stormclaw, Otterslip (ex-TC NPC), and Firewhisker (ex-SC NPC) will be going on his patrol to establish borders. I will remind you that this is your priority, and that these borders need not be massive. If either Roseflank or Morningskies are awake by the time you prepare to leave, I'd like you to take one of them with you."

That would be all on the topic. With is pale eyes scanning the handful of gathered cats, he sought out a familiar white pelt. "Snowwhisper, I'd like you to take over Newpaw's training. Until the patrol returns, I want you to remain in camp and work on reinforcing the nursery with any nearby supplies. You may go hunting after our brief scouting team returns, but only within the patrolled boundaries."

Amberblaze - Warrior - She/they - Location: Camp

Amberblaze lept to her paws at Applestar's orders and began to make her way to the camp entrance. Her claws sheathed and unsheathed as she settled besides the entrance. Knowing the patrol may not leave soon didn't stop her from running all possible scenarios through her mind.

As she sat and rose, pacing, posing, and practicing the gazes of other cats went ignored if they met their figure at all. Despite having been a warrior for a while, Amberblaze wanted to be prepared to best defend the clan and fight alongside the other members of the patrol, and in order to feel most confident she found this silent practice to be reassuring of their abilities.

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Camp

She began to follow him, slowing her steps as she heard the raising voices in the camp. Her heart rate picked up, stopping completely and taking in every word Applestar was saying. Set up borders and boundaries before hunting, don't leave without orders. She was freezing up, she didn't want to betray orders or be yelled at like the others. Her vision was darkening, and she looked around, eyes zeroing in on Heatherstump. "We should, should we, should we tell Applestar that we're going? I don't, I don't want him to become mad at us, what if he won't let us go, and we're, we're disobeying him." Her heart was beating faster, and her legs locked, not letting her move. Anxiety was falling heavily on her, feeling like a large cat holding her down in place. She was stuck, frozen.

Snowwhisper - Warrior - he/him - Location: Camp

He nodded at Applestar, taking on an apprentice was a great task to be granted when there were so few. He didn't particularly like the idea of staying and doing heavy paw work, but he knew it was important for the queens and kits. Snowwhisper looked around for where Newpaw was, an extra pair of paws would be much helpful.

Stormclaw-Warrior-He/Him-Location: Camp

With a dip of his head towards Applestar, Stormclaw got to his paws and began to follow Amberblaze and the other warriors that had been chosen. He sat down beside the camp entrance until the patrol was ready to go. He noticed that Amberblaze was pacing and seemed rather anxious, but he didn't want to intrude or make assumptions. If they wanted to talk, they would, if not then that was fine too.

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: Camp

Newpaw bounded up to Snowwhisper with awe in her eyes. "So, you're going to be my mentor? That's so cool! What are we going to do?" She asked excitedly, trying to keep from bouncing on her paws. She knew that there was a lot to do around camp and she was excited to finally be an apprentice, she had been tired of being told to 'stay in the nursery' or 'stay near your mother', or 'go play with the other kits' it was boring. She was ready to actually do something.

Amberblaze - Warrior - She/they - Location: Camp

At the notice of Stormclaw settling, Amberblaze slowed her practice to a stop and sat themselves near Stormclaw, but they didnt sit very close. She debated on sparking conversation, but she didn't know what to talk about. Even her tried and true methods of small talk had been obliterated by the tragedy that had been brought upon the new clan.

"Was the hunt promising?" Amberblaze managed, quickly glancing at the tom near her. "How was the terrain?" They didn't think the warriors hunting patrol had taken them very far due to the quickness of their journey, but she thought asking was smart nonetheless.

FERNSHADE—WARRIOR—SHE/HER— LOCATION: TERRITORY

Fernshade carefully brought her paw over her left ear, smoothing back the ruffled fur of the back of her neck, before letting out a yawn that exposed shiny white teeth. As nice as it was to spend time with clanmates, Fernshade seriously needed some alone time right now. She had a terrible hunt last sunhigh; she had been hunting alongside her father, Brackenslash, and the two were closing in on a healthy looking hawk that was tearing into the corpse of a hare. It would've been perfect. Fernshade had gone into the trees, and when Brackenslash flushed it out, she was supposed to leap on top of it and bring it down. SUPPOSED TO. The she-cat still felt hot with embarrassment. Instead of jumping, she tripped on her own paws in the branch she hid in, and crashed into the undergrowth, dislocating her shoulder and scaring away the hawk. They had only made a catch out the hare's remains, while the young brown she-cat was stuck in the medicine cat's den for the remainder of the night.

She had to focus. Although her left shoulder still throbbed slightly with pain, she wouldn't let it get to her. Opening her jaw, the she-cat focused her attention on the scents that drifted in the air. Mostly faint smells of foxes, nothing that was a problem, until she detected a odor of blackbird. Not a hawk but a good catch nonetheless. Carefully placing paw after paw, Fernshade pad after the scent trail until she spot the corvid busy courting a female beside the roots of a dingy looking aspen. Licking her jaws, She was careful to creep to the side as to not alert either of the birds, busy doing odd flaps of their wings and chittering noises she couldn't decipher. One step more.. Another..and..
CRACK
Both of the birds took off, and ears pinned to her sable head, she turned to glance down at the twig that lay under her paw. Flushing with shame, Fernshade kicked at the stick before stalking away into the woods. Well, that just wasn't fair.
