Scouted Biomes Reset Upon Leader Change???

Literally why. This is the most horrible and random thing! Does your whole pack just suddenly forget that they've been places before? It isn't your lead wolf who discovers new territories, it's your other packmates. What's even the point of scouting biomes (which takes a while!!) if you just lose all your progress when you change lead wolves?

Oh lordy please change this. That's a TON of progress to lose if your lead wolf dies.

I personally like this feature, it makes scouting an important part of the game moving forward, instead of just an early game feature. Your lead wolf can't die suddenly, much like the king lions on lioden, so there is no way for you to lose progress unexpectedly.

scout just..forgets everything in their grief xD


Maybe give scouts other duties besides this so they wont be useless if you keep progress


such as


-Ability to scout while no one is hunting, increasing the odds of a successful hunt/bigger game

-Scouting out already explored areas for a boost in combat/befriending

As generations progress and the world changes, the knowledge of your leader needs to grow as well

I personally like this feature because of the challenge, and how it keeps scouting a important feature throughout the game, as Bridge said... Or maybe it's because I like harder games. I dunno.

Personally, I dislike the feature. It's intriguing, but stupid. When a leader dies all the scouts get amnesia! Oh no. How horrible, their grief destroyed their brains. It's ridiculous. I say when a new leader takes over, far reaches of the territory should be forgotten. Like, you live in the desert. Well, now you have a new leader who knows nothing of the glaciers, tundras, etc, but knows about the prairie and swamp because they're very close by. Like, let them remember the stuff directly next to them.

Hmm, I'm a little split on this. I do somewhat understand the logic behind this, though I could only explain it in a convoluted manner. It makes sense for a new lead wolf to not know the biomes like the previous lead did, so I understand that it would need to rely on scouts to gather information once again.

With that being said, I do agree that it is an unfair and almost bad design choice for everything to be completely reset. I think that nearby biomes should at LEAST be a scouting trip or two away from being completely discovered again, and everything else further away can be completely forgotten. It makes enough sense.

While I agree the that distant biomes being forgotten is a good compromise, I personally do not care for the reset/forget mechanic altogether. Honestly would be a big demotivator for me on my second leader.

I think a compromise would be better than outright forgetting tbh. I like the idea of the adjacent ones being a couple scouts away from being revealed, and the rest being closed off -- but I don't like the idea at all either.
