Picking a New Stud - Help Me Choose?

Hello Wolvden! I am trying to choose between two potential future studs. The potential studs and their tentative design are below. Any thoughts or opinions (on which one, or on the designs themselves) are greatly appreciated :)

Potential Stud 1: Realgar uncommon-line G3 with high Strength (152 Strength at birth). Would likely end up with 400+ Strength when fully leveled, making for good Finisher pups.
Potential Stud 2: Opal private-line G2 with Stalker stats (125 Wisdom/107 Smarts at birth). A potential downside is that, living in the Tundra, I have a stronger Stalker I'm already using, so he would be leveled via Glacier scouting and end up very Wisdom-heavy. UPDATE 4/2/22: If I choose him, he would likely end up being leveled as a Stalker.



I would be perfectly happy with either stud and have spent a lot of time getting both of them. They are meant to be a public stud since I rarely breed within my own pack.

I adore the design for the Realgar. I have a weakness for Blaze, but aside from Blaze, there's this cool thing going on with his back and the predator doesn't overwhelm the overall appearance and-

The Opal would be my personal preference, due to desire for more stalker availability. I understand the concern of becoming wisdom-heavy due to Glacier scouting.

However, I think it comes down to what I would need at the time, looking at these two!

I like both designs.
I think the Opal shows the fruits of the parents' labors [stat gains] more, but that's clearly debatable the more I dig. Both are great candidates. I don't even know if I can choose one? XD  I can see why you're seeking opinions, and I wish you all the best.

I like the first design more tbh the warm colors and the cream on red is amazing! But the low gen breeder in me thinks the Opal will gain you more studs and is the better pick. Plus you have the chance to breed more T3s and that will gain a small profit as well. So if you are going for profit gain and not just personal feelings opal 100% is the best pick.

@WinterNexus: Thanks for your input as well! I've heard the (very good) advice to pick a stud which you like, but I like them both so personal feelings are very good towards both.

I'd definitely go with stud one absolutely beautiful w good stats that's exactly what you want in a stud

They both seem like great picks. Personally, I'm more interested in the realgar because I like his design, and I have a Howlthorne-line realgar pup who I'll need to find studs for. But the opal is good too - new stalker lines are always welcome. I know you said you're going to level him via scouting, but will you make him a hunter once he hits level 20?

@Lionel: That's somewhat what I was thinking with the first potential stud, actually--I know there have been some very strong Pyrope/Realgar studs available (Reggie, Howlthorne, ke Khatvana, etc) and he could be a complement to those lines. And regarding the potential Opal stud, I'm honestly not sure if I'd put him as a hunter. It would be the smart thing to do if he becomes my stud, but it's hard to part with a Stalker line descended from one of my first wolves. Granted, my second party's Stalker is descended from that same wolf as well, so I could probably stomach ending that line. Damn sentimentality. I'll think about it some more though. He's the correct age to replace my first party's Stalker, so if I go with him, I might as well just start him off as a hunter if that's where he'll end up.

Just thinking out loud here. Basically, I'm now leaning towards just starting the Opal off as a Stalker if I end up going with him.

They both are amazing, but I'm in love with the opal's design! The realgar has more stats but still looks stunning. I still would say opal cause of G2 and, I don't know, he's gorgeous but just my opinion!
