Decor Uses and Dynasty

Decor Uses and Dynasty

Revamped suggestions:
I would like to suggest a change to the decor mechanic. In line with other suggestions, it would be nice to view custom decors in the wardrobe so you can see what's it looks like on a wolf without equipping. This will circumvent losing uses and allow people to experiment with various looks on their wolves.

Regarding the Dynasty, I think it is unfair that the decor gets removed from the wolves, which people spent time customizing, leaving them looking plain in the Dynasty record. To think the only way this is circumvented is by immortalizing wolves, which while nice, is expensive to do in GC for immortal slots and jellyfish, is a little disheartening.

I suggest that items on wolves remained equipped when they pass and are in the dynasty. People can then decide if they want to keep the decor equipped or remove for use on other wolves.

Alternatively/additionally, allow custom decor to be previewed in the wardrobe before buying it

100% please make getting GC easier without having to spend irl money. Right now, the only opportunities are either buying it yourself (I'm broke) or being trade-savvy enough to get it from someone with more spending money than you (I don't yet have this skill and learning it is time-consuming and difficult). It would be nice if there was even just a small chance to get 1-2 GC from enemies of a certain level or higher or from hard daily quests. Saving little bits over time would be brutal, but at least possible for all players.

Wolvden is the only game I play where it's impossible to get higher-level in-game currency without purchasing it with real money or having to interact with other players.

No support for changing the decor mechanic. Custom decors get 10 uses, which is a lot. You could have 5 mistakes/switches due to indecision, and still be able to use that same decor on 5 generations of wolves, which is like...2 years in real life? That's really generous.

It doesn't take personal interaction or savvy to get gc. Put up a buyout-only trade with sc at the current exchange rate (e.g., 3000 sc with a buyout of 10 gc), bump the trade periodically, and eventually someone will buy it. Or if you want gc fast you could buy out someone else's trade. Either way, no communication required.

Supporting, especially for the dynasty/immortalizing reasoning. Because it's also a bummer that there's a cap on how many wolves you can immortalize so even that work around is very limited if your able to get all 10 slots.

I don't know how to tell you that buying another's trade or having them buy your own counts as an interaction or that knowing what sells well and what is a reasonable price to charge for something does, indeed, require savvy. If it comes easy to you, that's great! All the more power to you, genuinely. Some of us aren't so lucky and really struggle with it.

No support. There are a LOT of things suggested here honestly, so it's kind of hard to explain why I'm no support for all of them. Some of them might have better being posted in other suggestions. I'll do my best to explain why bellow, part by part.

It does suck to spend time customizing a wolf to see them lose their decor upon death, in fact this is already a suggestion here. To either let them keep their decor, or let you customize dead wolves. I am in support of this, but not in the case if "the decor is returned AND they wear the decor". I think it should be your choice whether to keep them dressed or get the decor returned. This would align with your suggestion, as you don't need to spend more money on immortalizing wolves.

I suggest that items (at least custom decors) only lose a use when the wolf using them dies, so a use won't be subtracted due to user placement error. Decor can be kept on wolves who are kept in the Dynasty, but they will still lose a use as they do now and can be used by other wolves. To avoid people abusing this ability to remove and replace decor without losing a use, this should only be allowed the day of initial placement i.e: you place the item and realize an hour later it would look better on a different wolf.

While it sucks to do a placement error, I don't think this is a very common thing that happens.

You can play with the decor quite a bit and it not effect usages until you click Save Changes. If you decide to click the button, then later decide you don't want that item on that wolf, that doesn't sound like a placement error. That just feels like changing your mind, and therefore is worthy of removing a usage.

If you have a problem with the order of the decor, you are allowed to order the decore without removing a use using the up and down arrows. I just tested this to be 100% sure. As long as you don't remove and add the decor, you don't lose a use. So if the mistake was an ordering error, this also shouldn't be an issue.

You also have the choice for the wardrobe. You can test many decors (minus custom decors) without risking clicking the button and losing a use. While this doesn't work for custom decors, someone has suggested that here. That might be a better solution for the problem you are having, as it would allow you to preview custom decor without the risk of clicking the button?

I would also support a pop-up confirmation on clicking the Save Changes Button

If this is not feasible, perhaps making Immortal Slots and Jellyfish a little less expensive and increasing the number of immortal slots or making getting GC easier without having to spend money would be a better route.

This has been suggested elsewhere as well, but doesn't feel too relevant when it comes to this conversation about fixing the usages of decor, so I'm just going to leave it alone.

Thank you for your input everyone. I revamped my suggestion to streamline it and make it more feasible. I was on a Wolvden holiday for a while so it sat unchanged.
