What background is closest in location or climate to where you live? Mine is Black Mesa, Oklahoma.

I don't think any of the backgrounds are in the suburbs, lol.
I live in Illinois, so I suppose the [USA] Illinois - Farmlands, but I'm in the FAR north, less than an hour from Chicago, and farmlands is southern Illinois, mostly. Depending on where in Iowa or Indiana, [USA] Indiana - Cornfields or [USA] Iowa - Broken Kettle Grasslands might be closer irl locations.
I'd call Burrows Among the Roots close to what the forest preserves around here look like, or any other forests that look similar to that. Abandoned House is prettyΒ  much the only one with a building in it, and Illinois could look like that if you drove a few hours into the countryside.
Sorry for the speech, my climate is just... bipolar

Yeah I'm thinking like the original environment before human development. Night Oachita Forest is now closer. Just a little south-east of me.
