💰✨Lowering the GC price!✨💰

@rojaka the issue you mention is not an issue with gc being hard to get, its an issue with how the people affected by not having amusements, food and herbs play the game

realistically, u dont have to battle things in explore, salves are not necessary, just a nice commodity especially since the game randomly heals you for it, its like how its not necessary for u to give acorns to every acorn trade u see in explore, acorns are a nice commodity and not a necessity

as for herbs, the groups that struggle with that are either unlucky(very rare), or struggling with one of the other problems ive mentioned on this list, decided it would be wise to sell all their herbs to amend the other problem and then got punished by the game for not preparing(which is an intended mechanic, punishing you for being ill prepared to deal with medicines is part of this game)

hunting + exploring should never cause u to have not enough food or amusements, especially not with the new hunting update, theres a reason why food prices are dropping severely and thats because people can hunt a lot now

those that struggle with feeding and amusing are usually folks that are irresponsible in how much they breed or buy, they have a pack of 10, but they have like 30 puppies they bought from the tc and end up unable to feed them all because their pack wasnt big enough to support them. thats not an issue with the market, or how rare food/amusement is thats an issue with the player failing to plan

i once did an experiment, i found 10 players, all of which vocal about how wolvden was too hard and they were all struggling terribly to feed and play with all their wolves, desperately struggling to get their wolves back after they ran. i covered all of their food needs for 2 weeks, i gave them the sc to reclaim their lost wolves and covered them whenever their wolves got sick for that 2 weeks. despite having 2 weeks of time, where they didnt need to spend a thing on caring for their wolves, having time to stockpile food and amusement without spending it, having time to amass shit for 2 whole weeks, after i let go they immediately ended up back to struggling with retaining their animals. instead of being wise and holding onto the coins they managed to save up in the 2 weeks of grace period i gave each of them, they spent it on more puppies and decor

i only told these folks ide help them for the next 2 weeks, i didnt tell them why i was doing so other than 'because i wish to help' so it couldnt have skewed this experiment in any way.

i also did another experiment where i gave a diff set of people with similiar traits as the extremely good hunters that could consistently catch large trails in easy biomes(aprox 70% chance) before hunting update+ cleared whatever debt they had like for reclaiming animals. similiar results occured

wolvden is meant to be a harder twist on the browser pet sim genre, youre meant to have to plan, youre meant to have difficulty, thats the whole point of having mechanics that cause ur animals to die, run away get sick.

if you cannot deal with the difficulty then all i can say is that you should be looking for a different game to play, not to change the entire game to fit yourself, or blindly giving suggestions that do nothing to fix the actual issue

Also ignoring all this, its not feasible to push sc:gc prices down back to how it was, the game has changed a lot since the 60sc:1gc days, i would know cus i played since the minute wolvden was released out of beta

at that time, the raccoons limit was lower, momma bear didnt exist to give u free money via enclave quests, the snakes quests were difficult and gave u 150ish sc total compared to the far easier quests we have now(yes im looking at the hard one too that ones easy as fuck in comparison to the old quests) plus giving you double the sc total, we did not have fishing to give us a handful of coins(around 20 for me usually) we didnt have hunting spewing out massive amounts of food, and open wound was so frequent that it would be a miracle for u to finish a hunt without atleast 1 of them getting an open wound, i myself had the unpleasantries of experiencing the entire hunting team get open wound from hunting twice during that period and it was unpleasant to deal with since i was so damn new to the game

so, from those days, with just the raccoon and explore being ways to get sc into the game, i could get 150sc a day by grinding really hard in explore and maxxing out the raccoon, sending all my hunts out and constantly foraging/crafting open wound salves with my herbalist+ saving all of my herbs so i could cure my injured animals

now we can get 300 from the snakes quest, 200 from the raccoon, 75 from the momma bear, 100 from fishing and god knows how much food i get from hunting i dont even have to try all that hard to get this, heck i dont even have to use my herbs, i havnt had a actual medicine crafting herbalist in months because we barely got open wound anymore,

so now we can earn 675 sc a day( 4 times more sc) with a quarter of the effort, without using our herbs and getting double to quadruple the food we used to get

its no wonder sc: gc prices have risen so much, heck if we wanted to adjust for game changes, sc:gc should be 1000:1 right now

so instead of trying to brute force pushing sc:gc prices down, you should be advocating for less ways to generate sc eg nerfing the snake, and more ways to delete it from the game, eg minigames that spend ur sc

But who is actually spending hours fishing and selling tons of item to the racoon. Part of the point is that it's difficult for players who don't grind, to actually gain enough GC to enjoy the game in its current economy. Not to mention, there are a select few players who have complete control of the GC price because of constant buy outs.

Artificial inflation cause by resellers is my main issue now. The price raising over time is just a natural side effect of SC becoming easier to acquire. But it being rapidly pushed up by over 150SC over the course of a month is ridiculous and it's only getting pushed further.

u miss my point, its meant to be difficult, in wolvden you are meant to grind, you are rewarded for grinding, you are punished when you do not. and even if u do not include both fishing and raccoon, that means in the past you could only earn about 50sc a day(because no raccoon) and 200 if ur lucky and dont get the succeed at 10 hunts quest from ages ago
compared to current day, where u can easily get 300sc from snake and 75 from maternal bear which makes the actual exchange rate adjusted for inflation even worse than 1:1000sc probably closer to 1300:1

i used my sweaty tryhard 10hrs of wolvden a day number to calc the original 1:1000sc thing from my previous post because i wanted to make sure i got my point across that that the current rate is ridiculously justifiable

it has so many mechanics made specifically to punish u for failing to grind

wolves running and costing sc to reclaim when u neglect them, is a punish for when you fail to grind
wolves getting sick is a punish for when you fail to prepare

and no, not a single player has the power to control the prices of gc, unless theres is a singular multibillionaire playing this game and spending hundreds of thousands on this game

dzanek has tried to push gc prices down on his own by selling cheap gc, doing so with 1000gc of his own and making a thousand trades, he failed, twice

Reselling has always been part of this game, since day one reselling is and has been a thing, its the way the market regulates itself, trying to ban reselling is just stupid and unpoliceable

if u wish for me to explain why, i can its just long and i dont want to type another essay no ones going to read

Ive honestly put an absurd amount of time and effort into learning the ins and outs of this game, testing my theories and all that stuff, i could explain all my points in maximum detail if need be but once again, if not asked for most people wont read my 3-10k word essays

I'm not advocating to ban reselling at all. I recognize that it's how the market regulates itself. Used to do the same thing on lioden in September when everyone needs large rocks. What I'm saying is that wolvden is getting to the point where it's difficult for the average player. People have jobs and other things going on in their lives that make it to where they cannot grind enough to sustain their pack and enjoy aspects of the game. I work 2 jobs and manage to get around 5 or 6 hours a day on wolvden and I'm barely scraping by. I don't think wolvden should be fun exclusively for people who grind.
