Future Events of Wolvden

Honestly, yes. To all of that. I would love for wolvden to be set back a century or four. Especially since LD seems to pretty much be set in present day

As someone that has studied wolves every day for the last eight years and personally trains wolf hybrids I would honestly like to see some of the things wolves in the wild face on an annual basis. For instance, in late fall a dispersal wolf (otherwise known as a lone wolf) that is between 2 and 3 years of age will search for an ideal mate that they believe will be best suited to start a pack with. By mid to late winter the pair would go through their mating season and begin a search for an appropriate den site in which to have pups.

Perhaps beginning in October there could be a minor increase in scouting difficulty or a decrease in prey available to hunt as this is when many large herd animals would migrate to a better grazing habitat for the winter. The threat of starvation would be effective, plus it would allow an opening for a new NPC, possibly based on a certain greek werewolf origin story, as Lycaon -yes the one that tried to feed the gods human flesh- was turned into a wolf or werewolf for attempting to feed Zeus his son, or a "little red riding hood" spin off since the wolf in the story was always hungry.

In November perhaps players could move their pack to a new den site, or find materials to build a cave more easily, or have a higher chance of encountering a female wolf to befriend, or even introduce a new breed only base. Any of these would be accurate as this is when wolves tend to find their dens to raise a litter in.

In December perhaps a new breeding item might be released, a "Gift of Pups" if you will. It might increase the odds of having a larger number of pups in a litter, similar to the Grain of Paradise or the Buffalo Scrottum does in Lioden.

Come January you could have a "New Beginnings" sort of event where maybe you could change your breeding male, introduce a new markings set or base, or lessen the gestation period in the game from four days to two during this month (I say two to reflect the actual two month gestation period wolves experience in reality) this would be a great month to focus on the pups and their attributes.

In February perhaps have a challenger type event such as an unwelcome (or maybe highly anticipated) breedable male that might trespass on your pack's territory, breeding with any stray females he can while trying to avoid the males of your pack, especially the breeding male in your pack. I would also suggest looking at the breeding seasons of various prey animals during this time in order to get that awkward love and breeding theme we all love so much.

March is the poacher awareness month that you have on lioden and this is also when baiting bighorn sheep and goats in preparation for hunting season happens. Baiting is when hunters and poachers will set a desirable food item out in a certain area to draw their prey there regularly, reducing the need to search for game. In many places this is illegal as it makes the population in a region vulnerable to over hunting. Perhaps your pack could encounter prey animals at a deer feeder, or find illegally placed trail and game cameras to play with, or have a chance of getting caught in a snare or trap laid out by a poacher. They might also find small animals in these snares and traps such as a hare or fawn. (This could be a choice encounter where you can choose to save the animal or kill it for yourself)

April is when many thunderstorms tend to occur in places like Yellowstone where wolves are known to live. Jackrabbits, snowshoe hares, and even a common wild rabbit would be fitting as most people seem to desire an Easter event. Maybe finding partridge nests with eggs could be an explore encounter. These would make a tasty snack for a wolf.

By May wolf pups are large enough to begin hunting small animals like mice and toads, so perhaps a pup training event would be beneficial here? This is also when elk calves are usually born.

June is the start of wildfire season in the midwestern region of the United States (and many other places in the northern hemisphere) and wildfire season lasts from June to August. This is a time of destruction and fear, but also a period of renewal and revitalization. Some trees and plants contain seeds that won't grow unless exposed to blazing hot temperatures -pun intended- and a pack might encounter a charred carcass or lose foolish adolescents to the flames.

July could be a nod to the Lioden Celestial event. My suggestion for this would be to include the Perseids, an annual meteor shower visible from around July 17th to late August in the northern hemisphere.

I have no clue what to do for August, though I know that this is when tourism in national parks is highest so possibly more human encounters? For the record a wolf will only attack a human that is threatening the pack's pups or when ridden with disease.

September is generally when two year old wolves are out on their own in search of a mate to begin their pack with and elk begin to move to the lower valleys in places like Yellowstone. This is also when coyote and wolf interactions are more common as the smaller canines are growing more desperate for food.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I had 7 illnesses my first day after I got the herbalist quest, and 4+ illnesses per day since. Like I don't have enough issues with this already! RNG hates me, always have and probably always will so no... I don't think illnesses should be any more of a factor than they already are.

Just my two cents . . .
