Strong feeling this will need a ToC
Most of this is wip that i come back to and get progressively more done with every time, just a thread where I dump everything that's been building and changing; BEST FORMATED for PC

BECAUSE everyone else is doing this, I will add that I have 0 qualms with making my lore dark. Mentions of gore and life loss. I obviously dont condone anything very obviously morally wrong that some members of IC might commit.

In this world, nothing is ever secret, and nothing is ever easy. The earth beneath your paws listens to every step, the birds gossip your voice to others; and wolves are good at hiding in a diverse terrain.  Sometimes, eyes will watch you; and sometimes when you find them, it is too late. Your scent twirls in the air, delivered to far away folk. Your presence is always there; to those who can interpret it. Though few and far over vast dry lands, wolves listen to stories and mutterings. There is a collective, silent pool of rumors and knowledge that washes over the wolven world.

As long as all wolf-kind have lived, there has been an understanding that there are multiple planes of existence. Death, once thought the final breath; is not, as proven later on..
The first is the 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, the real world, where most everything takes place.
The second is the 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, a world of dreams, a world inbetween the living and dead where the previous may roam if they are called on by the latter. This is usually a world of prophecy; written and functioning as time points of the real future or past. Between these points in time are spanses of lunar lands; the actual structure of the Essence;  where a few unfortunates spent their sleeping hours evading danger until sunrise.
The third is the 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫; the land of the departed. Even fewer alive wolf-kind have been known to see it from the outside, as entry is barred only to those who's proper souls have departing the living.

Most events take place in the first.
Story takes place is a basin-like valley mildly akin to the WLVD map. Mountains are more expanded and range very very deep; less terrain diversity. On this side of the world come wolves. Regular, brutish, stupid, with their promises and failures.

Somewhere in this point, (consider it the glaciers far left corner,) comes an ocean. But this is not an ordinary ocean, instead a massive forest; blackened, dead, and looming. It rises from the ice, evil; and impossible. One cannot see through more then 10 tail lengths. Many have entered, only to never leave. It makes many a traveler lost.. whatever their return, it will not be home. The few wolven survivors of enterings have claimed to reach what they coin as a '𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐥,'-- A stretch of genuine ocean in the middle that feels as though it takes hours to cross... before returning to travel another void-like span of trees.

Supposedly conjoining this mass of trees, is an ashen sky, and a deadened, monstrous ridging of cliffs and plateaus. Knowledge is limited of the forests and forbidden lands, because of the monsters within.. A wolf of any clan will bear their teeth before asking you not to converse of 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐢; their lives are difficult enough..

And it is wolves which we will begin. Regular, orthodox, and like most creatures of this world-- deeply proud. Their societies are rough and unfinished, living in dispersed patriarchal clans on the border of mountain and forest. Other than temperament, the only reason for this separation is to diversify an already limited breeding pool, with seasons bearing harshly on a tough-furred valley.. As the weather warms, she-wolves leave their natal clan in the 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, dead to their families; never to return. Should young males survive their first cruel winter, they may undergo the 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 with the surviving victor leaving home to find a mate, and return home to continue the cycle of the clan. These groups are founded on eye-catching minerals; 𝐑𝐮𝐛𝐲, 𝐎𝐩𝐚𝐥, 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞, 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐝, 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐳. Male members of such adorn their native jewels, getting their namesakes through growth and features, always with a prefix and suffix. The only thing in common regardless of clan is a wolf's hatred of dagari.

Named by wolves as a generalization of the growling they produce; Dagari can almost claim their features from goats; as they akin pupils, ears, tails, and limbs from their grazing prey. They are broader and more bear-ish in structure. Known amongst themselves as the winged folk, their bodies are skeletal, mostly consisting of a thick feathered-fur pelt with wingish limbs to glide them in their high altitudes. They live in family groups in close knit communities and acrew open-ended relationships, leading to "village to raise a kid" cultures. They carry strong elusive temperaments towards creatures that appear as they are, and generally solitary and unresponsive to those outside of the branch of their relation hierarchies; their only commonality with wolves. The latter of which rumor their quick learning by way of apparently.. mind reading? It seems so far-fetched, but anything could be possible of such strange beasts..

** Something I am noting temporarily is the heritage of these traits, known as "Charma," that are randomly gifted to individuals, often with kinder souls.

One quick note that will become important shortly is the evolution & descendance of a common ancestor canid into wolves, dagari, and 'beasts.' Dagari & their subspecies have high reproduction rates. Dagari and Wolves are fertile when paired, being still relatively close, while 'beasts' are limited to inter-species crosses
On the opposite side of the forests are their vast, murderous and unforgiving homelands, the 𝐀𝐛𝐲𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐬. Humid and ashen, hiking grasslands with frivolous volcanic activity and consequences. Their sunlight is limited, meaning vegetation is void of nutrients and as a result, so are they. Dagari share their island of horrors with a cannibalistic cousin unable to escape it's beastly nature. Their homelands are frigid places with diluted waters. In 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭-𝐬𝐮𝐧 months, they can forcibly enter a state of hibernation to keep themselves alive when literally nothing else can. Survival is a wrong step; as many habitable locations are fraught with edges and murderous pits. Many a Dagari has considered trying to make way in the borders known as the Colossal, the dark, deadened forest to the east of all that is known. And many have, but never has there been a return. But of this time, the lands grew colder as a natural ice age descended, forcing many to ponder the risk.

2i. The Origin of the origin - The dispersals

And many did. At this time, a Dagari grouping attempts to cross the Colossal with their very young pups, forced out by a pack of their dehumanized relation.
The crossing takes four months.
A youngling girl loses everything she has before reaching the Conceal; by a shear miracle clinging to a weary caravan of stranger dagari travelers for survival. Unnamed as the tribe ascends from the glaciers; she is termed Illusions for her surface wolfish appearance and concealing prowess. Illusions remains in this family hierarchy until curiosity surges over the nature of the only wolven lands Illusions knows as home, and she leaves for the mountains founded the wolf rumors that circulate through her tribe, determined to find the mysterious, dangerous others outside of her folk. Wildly extroverted and untamable she pursued the wolves' mountains, lethally curious about them, making energetic growling introductions only to narrowly escape a violent death time after time. She learned enough by watching and listening to guess at wolf customs and language; to better disguise, she created an odd faux name of her own; 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐈𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐨.
The young feme took to adolescent life as a solitary wolf, having supposedly completed the Ceremony of.. what was it exactly? Running..? She could never quite translate the word into her own dictionary. Nonetheless; knowing how to blend in, she made contacts offput by her open nature.
This curiosity and pining for inclusion cycled onward.. until the meeting of an equally young bachelor from Sapphire Clan; 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠. He had been no one back at home, winning the trials by skill sections alone. Naive and shy, he took to LISukio's boldness at once and began trying to court her, believing her to be a wolf. After clumsy misunderstandings and trial and error; their acting up over each other became adorably clear. Absolutely flustered and fluffed when LISukio was presented a gem-bead from his own necklace, she accepted. But in their beginnings, LISukio never confessed her heritage, or disinterest in returning to wolven packs that had been so intolerable. Instead, she agreed to return with Silver Wing when their pups were of age and ready for travel; forced to keep in a solitary den as winter gripped the valley, snuggled in the knowledge of new arrivals in the spring.

2ii. The Origin of the origin - Raised in the Valley
As the moons ceased however; the children of LISukio and Silver Wing grew into fine young pups of the deep valleys. The litter had not been bad at all; four, a rightful challenge for the new pair all alone as it was.
Of them was the oldest; 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐰: Strongheaded and unhesitating, perhaps getting the worst of his mother's character, and his father's orange-brown rippling coat. His name is unforgettable; as is his character when met.
Next came the litter's last; 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐰, named as uncreatively (because my 10 year old self had a theme going,) because his real title has been lost in the fog of legends and rumors that haunt wolven lands. It is figured he was a dark grey pup, similar to his sister, quiet, nervous, and defensive.
Third came 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥, another misnomer concerning him as a wolf of many names; occasionally such as Solar or Beguiling. He came with a head as cool as his pelt; impassive, neutral, and diplomatic. Easy enough to get along with; but an entirely different leader amongst folk of his kin. Cited as solitary.
And finally, the wolf of the hour at last; the sole feme of the litter 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 a pallete of her father's whites and mother's darks; with a soft swirled pelt reminding one of the phases of moon. The she-wolf was most easily reminiscent of her mother's spark and paws with which to run; bearing her father's skilled and secluded character. Once while lost; she was discovered by an older dagari pup by the name of 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. After a hostile scuffle, both forgot their prejudice and fear for result of exhaustion. Huffing and gasping they raced down a soft forest stream; shoving one another, smirking and yowling; fur brushing the icy waters in the capture of a meal and game of Fishbone; for that is how you solidify friends in a world of few.

The small tribe of canines lived alongside small dagari communities descended from Colossal survivors. As with most canines; proud and honor-driven. Of each other they were wary, but less prone to the same layers of caution shared by their antagonized ancestors. Winged-folk and sometimes dispersal wolves exchanged in small bunches; giving and returning favors; determined to keep alive in a world that did a great deal to snuff out their flames. The valley was serene; untouched compared to the quarreling outside with initial dagari and wolven packs.. so, for a time it would seem.

2iii. The Origin of the origin - Our Protagonist
On a day with Silver Wing scouring for food; and Moon Tears lost in the trees with the neighboring pup of a forbidden wolf couple; Lament; their bloom of peace was crushed in brutal claws. A wolf of her father's Ruby Pack had picked up on Silver Wing's familiar kin scent, and discovered his hybrid children. Determined end such sin; he attacked the family, leaving LISukio in gored tatters with her children missing; her son Divided Claw nothing more then a few russet ink blotches; for the wolf had stolen the poor pup as a trophy for his pack.
The young Moon Tears; wracked with horror, grief, and rage; decided against staying put in case of retaliation and further endangering her mother. She left the fractured LISukio two poppy seeds for the second-eldest pup; a simple wordless message to convey her survival; and need to uphold honor. Lament volunteered to accompany her, and despite several attempts; she could never break him from her side. For moons, they learned to survive alone; trekking deeper into the autumn mountains with lessons understood from an early childhood of independence and few companion helpings; growing closer then they had previously; their pelts soaking all lost warmth from one another and providing a safe comfort from the dangers beyond.

Fire Claw was the first to find them; wounded; dragged into brambles and vines; trapped and left to die. His arrogance had been shaken; but not his temper. Disoriented; he dragged them on a thin scent trail in the direction of River's Tail and the aggressor. The two nursed the brother back into a manageable state; hidden higher up on the valley. On all nights, Moon Tears trekked the peaks in the darkest hour, watching the sleeping earth; and hoping her mother would watch the night as she did with the understanding that her children were alive, upholding a bruised legacy. Within the moon; it was time to move on, and her brother joined their journey. If River's Tail could still be saved; he must. No one could bear to lose another brother. The three spent weeks tracking the wolf; often losing him to the rains of early autumn. Fire Claw became tense; muttering and stabbing at the hard dirt. Lament comforted the feme, trying to keep her dry at the expense of himself; while Moon Tears prayed to all forces that they would find the both before he could assemble others.

One day near lakes roamed a group of Dagari, spotting the unaccompanied pups from a distance in the fields of the valley. The son they had welcomed as apart of their tribe was with them; abruptly shooting from their sides towards his siblings. River's Tail was overjoyed at finding his siblings alive; after barks and yelps; furious tails and licks, he was quick to point them in a direction that gave a new spur to their withering scent trail. Unlike his brother, however; he did not follow. River's Tail, always the oddball, had incited deep bonds in this nomadic set of adder wolves; the kind one did not depart from so easily. These kind formed his second family; one he would not venture from until death. Notably though, this sparked a rift between brothers; and their resulting kin have never seen eye to eye since.
Before departing on their chase, River's Tail gave them his promise that he would return to their parents and give closure for their missing children. Tails and spirits high, they departed into a finishing sun, the last happy light on their horizon. The bright reds and yellows of leaves dimmed. The mountains turned to slush and dangerous slides of land. They were deepening into the borders of clan territory where the scent persisted; and the trio did not falter.  Fall became a bitter winter, and their young pelts became tight with hunger; thin and grimed. Not even sharing nests could spare them from the waves of frost that bore down deep. The caramel dagari seemed to be taking the brunt of it; his short fur crisping with murderous frostbite that Moon Tears anxiously bit away, fighting off eachother's 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. Their misery turned into anger, the brother and sister frequently infighting to the dismay of Lament. Moreso; it became anger for their fallen brother and separated kind, a sadness that deepened when they met others of similar fates.
An offering of rosemary misplaced in stones became somewhat common; a wrongfully deceased litter. The shadows of stilled dagari pups in lifeless bumps of land. The snow-covered corpse of an adolescent just older then they; stopping to give a moment for his lost, shattered soul. They had run-ins themselves; other wolves and predation, hunger and slips. Once Lament nearly gave his life in a dreary, misplaced step, only to be hauled up by Fire Claw. This act is said to have mended quite a few unspokens between brother and sister. An endless walk as a telling of a world that did not care for their rest.
The barbs of grief were ripped from their heart one day; as they met head on with the slaughterer. The wolf had grown aware of their presence; finally confronting the three to triumph those who dared survived his reapings. As the murderer of many, Iodus took pride in his trophies, keeping their unresting souls alongside him in the mire he spread.  But the outcome was immediate. Blood on the earth remained many moons to come. It was stained black with loss. Fire Claw an eye; Moon Claws her toes and skin; Lament his ear; and the villain his life. Time left his disturbed, twisted bones to the fate of the flowering soil.

Under the stars, each wolf kind took hold of their brother's broken, matted body from the roots he had been kept in. Huddled about, they were all aware of how much softer his paws were; how small his snout and their matured bodies contrasted to their playmate's lifeless one. They howled for him; quite long a time. Whether days or a moon, Divided Claw was sung to his passing, ears untouched, tickled with pollen of the arriving spring and fading borealis. He was left to a field of yellow grasses and stones, marked with a curiously unflinching X. Many a wolf kind has since tried and failed to find his resting place;  Though never given a chance in life, the dagari was the first of many to be known in the living's consensus of A World After; as an imprinted apparition of his life. Born anew, this figure is known as 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐯𝐚𝐝á𝐞.

2iv. The Origin of the origin - An Aftermath
The world was turning anew. Life must continue for some; if not others, and the chapter of grief was closing, even if the lack of Divided Claw was a wound no amount of healing could ever hope to repair.
The family had returned to a whole. The truth had come out over Illusion's status as a dagari to her love; who batted it aside, being more aghast that the partner he idolized as all things good and naïve had still lied to him. Unlike so many of his kind who teach hatred and fear to their children, however; he understood. After several more encroaches by wolves; they were among many dagari to migrate from the mountains; though, Silver Wing acquired injuries that rendered him infertile and limpish for the rest of his days, as he and his mate roamed the same forests guarded by their children.

As now full grown young wolves, the littermates were finding their own way; the solitary passages of their mother's ancestors; but not without exception to such a tradition. River's Tail and his blended wolf and dagari kin took to the east around vast hot springs and plains; calling themselves Solarians with growing reputation.

Fire Claw had met heads with a young dagari to the south; with strange, flowing red fur and a number of admirers. As bright wolf kind are nicknamed '𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐬' that is exactly what the growing pride became known for; though starting with a violent infamy for their territorial claims.

Moon Tears, however, seemed to be walking in her mother's pawsteps. She had a deep longing in her heart for the friend she had spent most of her traveling childhood with, and she knew those feelings would not stop until she could at least find him once more; only to barely step a paw in the mountains again to find Lament at the doorsteps to the forest, a nervous expression on his soft cinnamon face. They set paw into the trees together; and never looked back.

2v. First Spring
The new pair were absolutely taken with one another. They fled the mountains of so much history for a fresh beginning. The two traveled far, far east into the forests and canyons below the wolven mountains, losing themselves in deep thickets of annual and conifer alike.
Their journey home attracted Hajj; the dark, nomadic stranger. A yearling dagari their age. Taken by the guttural songs of the lovely Moon Tears; and prehaps.. other forces, he approached to pair shyly day after day, undiscouraged by the presence of another mate-- both raised by dagari; Lament and Moon Tears understood the dagari custom of 𝐀𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐮 polyamory, and were congenial to the orientation. Unlike the brown 𝐝𝐚𝐳𝐞 however, Hajj took to courting Moon Tears traditionally, which unlike the latter, was a new experience taken cautiously.
Pure-raised dagari are unafraid of violent confrontation; and so there were tests of which to ensure neither would run when danger called. These, they passed in the eyes of one another. It became warm with High-sun, followed by intimate smiles and chasing.

The forests were a consistent presence. The group's howls began to spread across particularly dense growths, entangled with rocks and feelings of old lives past. The few dagari and wolves alike who dared scrape a living out in the true wilds were both unsettled and attracted by the prospect of new claimants. The couple charted their territory well, making note of every hideaway, waterfall, and creature nest.
Through the trees she wandered, until her heart felt at home.
When asked by her daughters now; Moon Tears only admits that she followed her brother's spirit to where she could see him most brightly. When his smile shown as effulgently as the moon above, she knew they were safe to settle.
They nested around a small, natural hollow very deep into the earth, entwined by shoulders of mossed rocky cliffs; and a small patchwork of trees that allowed one to see the sky. The weather hardened once more; bitter and brumal winds rocked the forest worse so then they had the mountains. Moon Tears had entered this Short-sun pregnant and very anxious. Her energy reclined as the days grew colder and darker; until she entered a Quieting, where she awakened to the dark scraps of her two newborn daughters groomed by Hajj, and her most faithful mate overjoyed to find her conscious once more. Between a pygmy rabbit and cold breaths, Lament's daughters were given names. The younger became known as Sukio; for the new queen's mother; and Visions, a light brown pup with early-opened eyes.

2vi. The Pack's Rise - A Growing Hollow
Flowering was thankfully fast to arrive; The pair's days were now filled with bright sun and energetic pups; Though, the snow did not relent for uncanny period. Even when the warmth had returned with confidence, the trees retained a frost-kissed appearance until mid-high sun of that year, as it would forever after.
The group had seen wolves take a liking to them as they became acquainted with the neighborhood, Lament in his ventures to defend their claims had found quite a few friendly faces, even if they were nervous to introduce dispersals to young pups at home. A dangerous short-sun had left many wolf-kind without shelter, and scared. The pack swelled in response.
The queen had found her initial group amidst lost wolf-kind growing accustomed to one another under the leading hand of the new queen; like the wolven clans she had heard about by her parents. Leadership never came as confidently to Moon Tears as it did her brothers, but her wisdom allowed diplomacy and unity to prevail.
The clan slowly set aside sections of the hollow to nest and relax, others to stockpile, and sundowns when all would talk with one another under the eyes of the queen. Lament turned out to be quite a wallflower, learning the ways of each and every wolf-kind and sharing such with his mate. The weather warmed, and organized hunting began, chasing trails early in the morning and becoming the forerunners of the Dawn Chase. Moon Tears' daughters, now juvenile, began following these missions. Shortly thereafter they were discovered by a  small she-wolf with a pelt similar to the queen's, who offered with great excitement to join, becoming known as Gravel Brume. She never hunted; instead inspecting each of the hunters for their condition, and tending Harrow Branch's lameness.
Visions followed after the healer when she fell to paralysis. It did not take long for the clan to recognize that was her destiny.
With High-sun came wolf-kind that would shape the clan a long time. A sulking dagari by the name of Clear had been stalking their territory for an era, oft confronted by Moon Tears, who demanded a strange respect from her disagreeable character. The feme settled a nest in the rocks, becoming an honorary wolf-kind of the clan. She was silent, snarling at Lament's advances and only ever speaking native tongue to the queen. More keen to the queen's eye, however, was Snare. A matured dagari escaping disease with his young apprentice; Irregular. After a careful inspect by the herbalist, they found a temporary shelter in the clan.. or so Snare had planned. With his more waspish, asserting nature drew more attention from the queen in dealing with what Moon Tears first considered a threat to her domain. He insisted with presenting every kill to Moon Tears, messing with foliage around her den, and marking it with scrawl. She was nearly livid when the male challenged her, demanding he back down unless he wished to be chased out. This lasted until conferring with Hajj, who, to her surprise, laughed and explained.
Moon Tears was once again under a courtship.
The queen accepted his challenge out of shame, but tested him more observantly after a victory. By the autumn, she had an official second in command, leading a hunt of his own and still causing teasing eye-rolls at the presentation of food.
Clear herself seemed to take a rather misplaced Irregular on her wing; patient enough for the older feme's snapping to learn by her teachings instead. The queen, picking her battles, decided not to interfere and was rewarded. Bit by bit, Clear came around. Though she often disappeared to the point where Moon Tears believed her deserting or dead, the feme would always return. Snippets of news, gossip, and politics from suspiciously far off. Pieces of land for their claiming. Nesting sites, hunting grounds. There was an unspoken respect that came with partnership. The only untouched land by Clear was north-west; where The Colossal sat. More and more frequently when Irregular trailed her, she would pass messages for her resting mentor. From these wolves, she developed a circle of confidants, secret keepers, and managing wolf-kind; known as Watchers, allowed to come and go if they pleased and bypass certain orders from the queen herself. These would include Visions and Gravel Brume, the healers; Clear, the knowing dagari, and her neophyte, her central mates as an ahoaniu, Hajj, Snare and of course Lament; and in later years, her second apprentice Petrichor Smoke. When the queen eventually passes on to the stars, the standard of eight watchers will remain, with only a select three of the previous council retaining their positions.
Slowly, each member of the clan knitted into a working order. Moon Tears withdrew comfortably, knowing she was not needed as firmly now that the beginnings were behind them. Her wolves and dagari knew how to find their ways comfortably alongside each other, for the first time in all of wolven history. So long as each was dedicated to running in fields of gentle, strewn leaves and under frost-kissed nettles, to love and lose alongside one another, for a wolf-kind, their pack, they would endure the annals of centuries to come.

Leader - There is one, it is usually frowned upon to rule jointly. Known as a queen when identifying as feme. The clan's rallying point. They have control over migrations, expansion, hunting hours, meal hours, hunter travel, entry, and banishment. It is also respectful to acknowledge them as the master of the kill, those under their grim command will be pursued ruthlessly, just the same as a fawnless mother may fall under the order to be spared to heal her grief.
Leaders inform the clan of events, precautionary, and banishment, but do not directly announce any ongoing. It's more up to the clan to spread information.
Whatever the leader does is their business. This business often includes scouting, recruiting, negotiation, and well-wish rituals. Currently, it is unknown how Devourer spends her time; but she often appears and disappears at the northern border and returns with a sharp scent of blood; sometimes with trophies. She doesnt disappear for long, and stays put especially in the night.

Watchers - For each Iceclan leader, there are eight. These wolves have a higher status because of their truthfulness and unique skill.
    i. One is a Beta, the watcher that will take over from the leader upon death if no alternate heir is chosen. They may lead or observe hunts unless overridden, and act as the main overseer of Dykpeli'-obtained goods and information. They advise the leader on just about everything; usually requiring betas to be older and more experienced. They also generally get along with all other watchers.
    Current Beta: Delta
Ii. Two are known as Dykpeli'; далеко пойти (del-leh-ko pi-o-ti; or go far.) The nomadic type, usually from outside of traditional clan blood. Dykpeli' act as traditional 'deltas' for message relay, exchange, and general news. They are some of the clan's most vital informants.
Current Dykpeli: Darling, Blood Shaker.
Iii. Another two are Woundele. The clan's a healers, a mentor and apprentice. The senior Woundele has absolute power over who is apprenticed into their place, a leader can never override this decree; however the chosen wolf has a right to step down.  Woundele are said to have had a stronger connection to The World After, and manage all dead-world rituals and passings. Woundele store medicines and cure meats for the harsh short-sun seasons.
Current Woundele: Antichrist
Iv. Finally the last three watchers are known as Naaje most commonly the closest blood of the leader, by family or bond. Naaje are responsible for keeping up the social health of the clan. On a black moon, secrets told to them by clan members must be held by a Naaje until death. They must generally be social and open wolves. Naaje are responsible for dispersing and managing fights, combative incidents, passings, howling sun, and soft moon rituals, alongsides queens.
Current Naaje: Sunrise'se, Hata, Howling Shiver

Queens/Nurses - Pups are one of the most precious harborings the clan has to offer. Queens are responsible for managing just about every affair to do with them. They have all expertise from fertility to nesting rituals and weaning. The main duty of a queen is to teach clan customs to all pups at a young age, and protect them from dangers of the outside world that can seep into their lives, including social drama regarding their families.
        I. Spine Queen Otherwise known as head queen is the wolf most intimate with queenly duties, most oft the queen with the oldest longevity. This is also the wolf responsible for pup death rituals and prognosis of mutated or born illnesses.
        Current Spine Queen: Sunrise'se
II. Mentor Queens Are those responsible for managing pups closing in on graduation from the nursery. They have the verdict on the time a young pup has reached their second wending, and is ready to contribute to the clan. They are oft the wolves a pup grows closest too before proper mentoring. Mentor queens also advise the Second Status or Wending trial.
Current Queens: Nesting Osprey, Living Mice, Sunrise'se
III. Soft Queens Not quite a title, not quite nothing. Soft queens are recognized as oath-held unpaired and celibate she-wolves as queens. These wolves hold the highest presence in fertility and nursing practices as well as general domestic upkeep and preparation. Soft Queens have been known, strangely, to help nurse when times are harsh, as though Dívidae himself approves of such a position.
Current Soft Queens: White'se, Exult, Artemis

High Hunter - Wip but there are two and they have to breed at some point in their lives. They qualify as greater hunters and once chosen retain their position until death unless challenged. They often deal the final blow during hunts.
Current High Hunters: Cutlass [who's child sets off this tradition]

Больший - (The Greater) Wolves whom after the Wending Trial  worthy to hunt in the worlds above; plains, cliffs and open sky. Their catches are fresher and teeth cleaner.

Меньший - (The Lesser) Wolves whom after the Wending Trial prove unworthy and must provide in a world of darkness; trees, and generally things that hunt them as well. The world below which i aint talked about yet is dangerous and makes up a majority of the clan's territory with several groups and dangerous shit living in it. They oft have blackened teeth because of rot, but are generally just as healthy as Больший; with immune benefits.

Young - A rank that encompasses all wolf-kind under 16 moons. Occasionally the phrases apprentice, neophyte, or trainee will refer to clan adolescents. Once a wolf reaches the ascending age, they adorn the proper marks and brandings of the clan and have all freedoms of their adult rank. With dagari and wolf side by side, age is not always certain, often wolf kind prove their matured prowess to the clan, or more rarely; because of species imbalances, they become early mot awhers.

Тянуть - (The Pull) Usually a name given to older and less useful wolves of the pack who have proven their worth to remain in the Clan's favor; a tradition began by the second ever leader after his beloved parents grew old, near to leaving him behind.

(ew this ones kinda ugly i might change it)

Woundele Tradition - The process of healing is sacred because it is the only art that effects the balance of the Awakened World and The World After. Some wolves are spared from healing and saving; if called upon by gods. The clan must trust their Woundele to do what is right, thus why they are chosen very carefully.

Beta Tradition - Should an old beta die or ascend to leaderhood, the newly called upon beta must find Divvadáe grave to prove their worth. If they cant, they're not fit to be beta and a new one must be chosen. They can prove this by bringing back 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞, which only grow in the hollow of the deity's resting place. Woundele are taught carefully to know what they look like; though intuition is usually fine, as they are very unique looking.

-- some wolves believe in Divvadáe as a legitimate deity or god, i will not elaborate on if this is true. Some believe in it so much that it has started manifesting in a cult across all clans and groups! isnt that fun.
some wolves find MT and her kin to be holy because again the whole growing Divvadáe cult and therefore children of these wolves, if not these wolves themselves, are encouraged to breed to this bloodline. Many years later this causes an inbreeding is fine issue to keep the blood pure and the cult grows notoriously unstable

THE TIME SYSTEM is based on the moon cycle.
First 3 Days of Moon = Silacc
First 1/3 = Sil
Second 1/3 = White-tail
Last 1/3 = Black-tail
it's not super accurate and usually shifts around through the years.

During Silacc - Wolves can confess their deepest trecheries and woes. Secrets of any wolf told to the watcher position of Naaje must be kept until their death. They generally do not tell tales in the first place; as they could be accused of breaking this practice. The only reason they can share their hearings is if a pup is seriously endangered or hurt.

The Hearth - During Short-sun the clan moves to their winter ground with more prey opportunities and less danger. It is quiet, small, and desolate. The clan follows prey, so it in only in these moons they reside. The move takes around a moon.

Howling Sun - A tradition carried by wolves once belonging to clans. Beginning at midnight of the third-quarter Black-tail, a banquet of fine berries, herbs, spices and seeds is prepared by and for all participants for general metabolic and structural cleansing throughout the day. At dusk of the second day, all sit to feast and bond with one another, with mass grooming and fur decoration as new additions to the event by the few dagari contributors. When the sun can no longer be seen, a choir of wolven voices sings for hours; lifting from not only the CoIaW's woods, but from every pack surrounding. It is said that birds remain grounded during this time, for the sounds from above are overwhelming and eerie. After which, packs run around their territory until sunrise nears, where all collapse in a bonded pile within their homes.

Soft Moon Rituals - There are many, however the most often associated are practices said to boost courtship, fertility, and divine love. It is mainly queens and femes who partake.

Brothership Rituals - Males and male affiliates who associate with one another in rank or hunting group often retreat to a falls within the territory a few times in the summer months, where all rejoice their luck at being in such relationships. Play ensues as does friendly challenge, barking, clensing, dances, and prayer. Red Fish with fresh cumin stock is a sacred dinner for such events. No one is quite sure how participants part ways for the night, however nesting in the grass and falling asleep to crickets and the stars above is a certain part of which.

Second Wending - A trial that takes place during the first and last day of short sun; when the clan moves from their summer territory to the Hearth. This trial determines a clan-born's ranking as a greater or lesser hunter. The trial takes place specifically when the clan is in their nomadic moons; as wolves in their second wending have a chance to practice their legs before trial on the traditional grounds; lo both pups and adolescents before their third wending can take part. The trial has four sections, with most being potentially lethal.
The first trial begins at high-sun, and requires the participant's guardian wolves; mentor or nurse, to hide themselves in the vast plains of the Hearth grounds. The participant themselves must scent out their guardian, and only then can they proceed to the next section. The second test guides participants to the bull grounds, where they must clip a trophy from a fully grown elk bull. The most common reward is an ear or tail. Thirdly from there, participants rush back to their guiding wolves and present it before rushing towards the neighboring cliffs, as immediately after is a mile climb up the neighboring cliff, which must be completed before the sun sets, meaning participants are forced to run for most of it, overcoming falling debris; rock fields, and harrowing gaps. The fourth trial is of faith. Participants must make their way along the overhang, towards falling waters. Once close enough, they must jump below and hope that they are spared a sudden, harsh death as they plunge into the water, and let their bodies be carried along by churning, rapid waters that seep along a network of caves in return to the awaiting guide wolves.  Only pups that complete all four become greater hunters, and two are required to make lesser, at that. Fighting ranks are given to failures.

3rd Wending - Coming of age. A wolf receives attire gifts from clanmates, as well as a third scar on their flank to signify adulthood in the clan. This often begins when wolves grow their longer manes; and dagari ears lengthen.

4th Wending - The leadership ritual. A true leader of the Clan of Ice and Wind is trialed. Each trialed wolf has yet to fail, or so the clan is told. Upon death of the previous leader, their Beta is tasked with finding the leader's heir. An heir is decided by a sentence passed on; wolf by wolf. This is called the пасс. None but a leader, heir, and beta know the contents of which. Passing of the пасс is bidden to death, which has happened exactly once. An heir travels into the mountains for three tall moons to give the clan time to grieve their lost leader. They are accompanied by the Beta and wolf-kind most close to them; whether kin or friend. During this stretch, the party travels towards the homeland of the original Sukio and her progeny. Arriving on dusk of the third day; these two wolves wait for them outside of a passing of trees known as the Fallow. This place has a dried up riverbed and abandoned signs of life. They must return with the following three:
A feather from the moon's cloak
A token of fire
A fawn's soft body, unbroken and untouched.
A sign of their own, their token as leader.. The last of which while plain, is the most important. It is the token Divvadáe judges.
The beta will then follow them to the Kin's Grave, an area where the first of The World After; Divvadáe, resides.. The heir will present all tribute on the shore of a small pool, and then dip their head in, for the longest of times..
Deity and mortal talk in the World After. Sometimes for days.
..The passing rumor is, sometimes the deity sees the clan's next leader as unfit; and will take their lives, given so willingly in the pool.. so that another takes their place in the ceremony.
And the leader retracts their head from the water, to breathe; alive.
The IceClan branding on their leg now glows like fire; and is the first sight of the leader the clan shall see, so they know to carry on.
This wolf will lead the first hunt thereafter, the success of which is usually telling of their reign.
