The world was dead.

For 50 years after the war, the world seemed to stand still. Nothing grew. Nothing changed. There seemed to be no life left on the planet.

Until the first humans surfaced from their underground shelters. These humans had survived the war, and the next generations were tasked with reviving the earth using samples collected pre-war. After many years, they were succesful. Though it would never be the same, the earth once again breathed life.

With new ecosystems forming, life forms emerged. Though these animals were similar to life from before the war, there were creatures completely new, and extremly dangerous. To protect themselves, the colonizers built towns, and as time went on, they withdrew into their homes and refused to brave the unknown dangers of the outside.

Years after the towns were built, new generations became curious of what waited outside of their small borders. Young men and women formed small groups, and left to explore the untamed wilds, with no knowledge of what awaited them.

Most groups never returned.

After many perished on these adventures, the town leaders passed a law that stated no one was to leave the borders, for their own safety.

But rules were meant to be broken.

So, young adventurer, what will you do? Will you form a group, and escape the confines of your town to explore your vast and unknown world? Or will you go solo, to dicover your own path? What dangers await you outside your walls?

We shall see.

------------Rules-------------

-All wolvden rules apply

-This is a semi-literate RP, meaning you are expected to write at least 1 paragrph per post, meaning 3+ sentences. Writers block is understandable, but please give others something to work with. Its hard to respond to a post like "She sat there quietly. She blinked."

-I will accept your character sheet in due time, please be patient.

-This is a clean and friendly Rp for all wolvden users, so anything 18+ please take off-site or to Pm's. Mild swearing is fine if neccessary, but please nothing too intense or colorful.

-Out-of-character disscussions will be taken to the out-of-character disscussions page or to Pm's

-Hate the character, not the player

-Godmodding is strictly forbidden. Seriously guys, not cool. For example "Karen punched Chad in the stomach. There was nothing Chad could do, as Karen was vastly superior. Chad lay on the ground, unable to move." Or somthing like that. Just dont do it.

-You cannot kill someone else's character without their permission. This goes hand in hand with the rule above.

-This is a friendly and chill environment. Please be respectful and courteous of others feeling's.

-Romance is allowed, but again touching on that 18+ rule. Take it elsewhere.

-Everyone has a life, and they might not respond to your post right away. Be patient, or if its really taking long, Pm them, but be understanding to the fact that they might be busy at the time.

-Mild spelling errors are not a big deal. Yes, its a semi-lit RP, but there are specific people to handle that. No need to call someone out. No one is perfect.

-Rules will be added as needed, so keep an eye out

Kaido Lee//19//Talking to: N/A

Kaido sat on a bench next to the small pond in the middle of town. His journal in hand, he re-read his entries for the blacksmith's shop. The journal kept a detailed account of every expense and purchase from his fathers shop, and Kaido had been tasked with going over it today. With no siblings, he couldn't pawn the job off on anyone else, so he dutifully sat and went over it, calculating the expenses.

It was a pleasant day, sunny with a sight breeze. His shoulder-length hair rustled in the wind, annoyingly smacking him in the face, so he tied it up, though a few strands escaped their confines to brush his cheeks. Though he attempted to concentrate on the task at hand, the distractions of the day succeeded in drawing him away. He tucked the journal in his knapsack and made his way to the edge of the pond. His reflection rippled back at him. He was an olive skinned lad with dark wavy hair, though his skin was pockmarked from a lethal disease. He sighed and stretched, the heat making him feel lazy and tired, and picked up a stone to skip on the water. With no one to talk to besides his father, who was often busy working, days at home had become exceedingly boring, and so he sought entertainment in town, under the pretense of working.

Now that he was nineteen, and recently so, the town elders had begun pestering him about his opinion on trivial things. He knew they were testing him, seeing if he was worthy for a council position like his father held, but Kaido couldn't care less. He was a quiet boy, and preferred to observe instead of participate. He didn't want a council position. He was completely sure it would be the most boring job in the world.

So he continued to skip stones on the pond, nodding in acknowledgment at the occasional passerby. Most people left him alone, not out of spite or dislike, but simply because they knew he enjoyed the quiet moments of life.

Alice Wattson//16//Interacting with: N/A

Alice had just returned from picking apples in the orchard, nearly kicking the door out of it's busted frame as she entered the house. She slammed the basket of apples down on the table, and immediately stomped over to the book shelf. Needless to say, she was not happy right now.

She pulled all the books off the top shelf, sending them across the floor. The house looked as if a tornado had come through. Furniture lay on it's side, papers were scattered everywhere, and now the books couldn't stay in one place either.

Once the shelf was empty, she then pulled the shelf itself out. She flipped it over as if expecting to find something. It wasn't there. She could have sworn she left it there. In a fit of overwhelming rage, she grabbed the end of the shelf, swung it with a massive amount of force and released it sending it flying out the open front door and putting another dent in the door frame.

As she did so, she felt something leave her pocket. She looked down to find her locket sitting on the floor. So she hadn't taped it to the shelf. She sighed, giving herself a moment to calm down before dragging the shelf back inside and cleaning up a little. Once the mess was manageable, she grabbed her flannel and slid it on, deciding she needed to get out of the house.

As she left she took note of the nearby people staring at her, and completely embarrassed she stared at her feet as she walked to avoid eye contact. She knew she was losing her mind in that house. She needed to leave this town as soon as possible.

16//Interactions: None//Currently: Studying outside sitting under a tree in a small field.

Tina was doing her everyday studies in a nice calm scenario with no one to bother her. She sits silently as she flips the pages of her book which was quite roughened up from all the notes she wrote on it. Her nose scrunches from focusing hard on each herbs and its medicinal value.

The weather was quite nice outside, a calm breeze plays with the strands of hair that escapes from her bun. The sun warmly hits her skin, making her think about herb picking today. But before she could do anything, she had to finish her rigorous self study. So she continues to scribble in her book and sketching the shapes of plants described in the texts.

As much as she wanted to study so she could become a great image for her family as a professional in the medical field, she couldn't help but wonder the life outside the city. A place where she could become an even bigger idol and make her family proud. Trapped inside studying for the rest of her life sounded horrifically uneventful, if only there was a way to leave this constricting place she would take it.

Alice Wattson//16//Interactions:N/A

Alice had continued walking, eyes down, until she decided she was far enough away from anyone who saw her melt down. She headed towards the outskirts of town, deciding she needed to be away from people for a bit.

She continued forward, the buildings becoming more and more sparse, until she reached a hill, which she began to climb. Upon reaching the top, she looked around, taking in her surroundings. She sat down, deciding this spot was good enough.

As she sat there, she realized that she hadn't had a decent conversation in weeks. And that was her fault. She had been avoiding people for the past year, and instead plotting to leave town.

She shook her head slightly, sighing as she let herself fall back on the grass. She didn't want to think right now. She just lay there, half asleep, the sun warming her body, and watched the clouds pass overhead. All she ever thought about was leaving.

She didn't want to be trapped like this forever, but it had hit her: there was no way she could make it alone. But who besides her would even want to leave? She shook this thought off as well, and went back to watching the clouds.

Eloria  ||  18  ||  Interacting With: Open  ||  Currently: Running Errands

Eloria stepped out of her father’s shop and shielded her eyes from the sun. She had an empty bag slung over her shoulder and a list in her hands. Just like any other day, her father was off somewhere, probably at the bar, and Eloria had been left in charge of the shop. She would still be there had her older sister not shown up to visit. Irene had insisted on Eloria getting out of the shop for a while and had made it clear that Eloria wasn’t allowed back in the shop for at least two hours, maybe even more.

The errand list in her hand wasn’t much help either, it was unbearably short and certainly wouldn’t keep her occupied for very long. Shoving the list in her bag, Eloria started walking, headed for the pond. It was her favorite place to sit and daydream about leaving the town. Her head was already in the clouds, thinking about it, but Eloria still made the effort to acknowledge other passerby's though she didn’t dare look too close. If she did, she might catch those pitied glances from the people who felt bad for her having such a useless parent. Not that they had ever done anything to help, all they did was enable her father's habits. Those pitied glances were something Eloria hated, so she was trying not to notice them.

Eventually, Eloria reached the pond. She carefully pulled her boots and socks off before starting to walk through the shallow waters along the ponds edge, heading to a large boulder that was situated along the shore. There, Eloria perched herself on the edge of the large rock, dangling her bare feet into the water below. 16//Interactions: N/A//Currently: Heading towards a small forest inside the borders

After finishing her studies, Tina thought it would be a good idea to stretch her legs and take a little breather from all that work. She gets up from her spot under the tree and brushes herself off. Then she heads her way towards a small forest which is usually abundant of herbs. The good weather would also make them healthier and fresher to use.

As she walks along her way to the forest, she listens to her surroundings. Her hiking boots pressing on the soft grass and the breeze making the leaves and grass flow through the air. Her outfit was moody and very dull, which contrasted the beautiful green surrounding her.

Her brain was still stuck on life outside the town. She wondered if she was the only person quite interested in the life outside the border. The pros and cons of nasty creatures but liberating feelings confused her.

Antora || 22 || Interacting with: Possibly Alice?

Light clouds slipped past overhead as Antora inspected the crop.  This was a small field of soybeans, as of yet unaffected by the blight, but she still feared seeing black spots on the leaves.  She squinted at the plant she was crouched in front of.  Things too close were always a bit blurry for her, but she didn't think she could see any spots.  Antora breathed a sigh of relief.  As she stood, a little shadow passed overhead and she looked up, hearing a rustle of wings.  Peach landed on Antora's face, stamping over her forehead and hurriedly closed eyes.  Laughing, she disentangled the bird's claws from her hair and moved her to an arm, petting soft neck feathers.  The pair made their way back to the family house, but as they did, the cheerful atmosphere dissipated.  Antora's father and mother stood at the back porch, deep in an argument about what they should do.  Her father wanted to stick it out.  Her mother thought they should find a different craft.  Neither could see the other's side.  Antora averted her eyes, shuffling over to her eldest brother, who was watching the conversation with a grimace.  Quietly, she informed him that the soybeans were fine, and he nodded.  With that done, Antora sought escape.  She didn't want to be here when her parents inevitably took out their frustration on their kids.

She headed away from the farm.  They didn't used to be like that.  They never used to argue so much, nor vent their anger if they still had it, but the stress of trying to hold things together was tearing them apart.  Antora desperately wanted to move out, but every time she brought it up, her parents begged her to stay, to continue helping around the farm.  As much as it pained her, seeing their faces made her agree every time.

Antora lifted Peach to eye level, but the pigeon wasn't looking at her.  She turned her face this way and that, checking for danger.  "Peach, what should we do?" she asked.  The bird turned her attention to her, regarding her for a moment with one orange eye.  Peach, of course, said nothing, but happily preened Antora's fingers when she brought them within reach.  After a few more minutes of walking, they came to a small hill.  Antora liked this hill, as she could see the family farm off one side, and the regions beyond the town on the other.  She liked to daydream here, and turn her back on her responsibilities for a while.  Only-- she wasn't alone this time.  Someone was laying in the grass.  She put a hand over Peach, keeping her from flying off, and kept a respectful distance from the other person, a girl?  "Hello?" she called.  Their eyes seemed to be closed, she didn't know if they'd heard her yet.

Koda  ||  17  ||  Interacting With: N/A ||  Currently:  Arguing with his family

Koda’s head was bent between his knees, his back was pressed against the gray colored wall. His cold knuckles pressed themselves against the top of his nose. A feeling of frustration surrounded him before he let out an exhausted huff. Koda relaxed his hands allowing his forearms to meet the knees of his bagged styled pants. The white strands of hair fell to his cheekbones, brushing ever so slightly against his waxen skin. He relaxed his posture, running his fingers through his hair. He slicked it back, tightly grasping the handful of hair before allowing his eyes to flutter open. The warm light of the sun bounced off his diluted green eyes.

The light haired boy's movement was slow as he picked up with weight and made his way to his feet. There was a second of hesitation before he pulled open the auburn door. The door creaked open, the sound almost like a screeching train coming to a halt, alarming all the people around. Koda glanced around the usually quiet house before walking towards the dimly lit room where his mother usually resides. Koda reached up slicking his hair once more making sure loose strands were tied to their sender. A ball of saliva rested against his tongue as he grew closer and closer to the family room, he paused swallowing hard.

An older lady sat in a tall wooden chair in the closest corner, her nose buried in a book. She took no attention to the teenage book. Koda stood there silently before placing his hand upon the armrest. The lined woman turned towards the movement before locking her eyes with his. Her eyes seemed lost, they were very pale, as if almost all the color had been sucked out of them. The color of slush that you wish would melt away. Her lips sharpened to a heart shaped smile before she spoke, “Are you looking for something? I might know where it is” Her voice was soft and quiet and yet it seemed to terrify Koda.

“No, I'm not looking for anything but, I was thinking I could go out” His voice was quiet, like a low murmur, some may say it's like honey, “Just maybe to the field, the forest, just maybe we can go past the borders” Cecilia’s eye’s narrowed as her smile faded.

“Beyond the border, that's not safe, Koda, Have you gone insane? We stay inside to stay safe” She spoke calmly but he could hear the thunder building in her voice. It's been quite awhile since the last time he heard it. “Momma, aren't you curious? There could be people out there, other people.”

The room fell silent as the older woman turned back to her book, “You know what else is out there, animals, monster” She paused grinding her teeth together slightly, “You can't go out there” Before Koda could testify once more approaching footsteps have the sound of heavy and armored clatter, the footsteps of someone who has not learnt to walk quietly and instead relies on the verges to muffle their steps. Each footfall is chaotically spaced from the last, no rhythm at all.

A creak from another door echoed through the silent house. A tall, nearly bald man stood in the doorframe. He fixed his glasses before looking towards the commotion. As Koda’s father emerged from the darkness of his office his mother seemed to step back, picking up another book and opening it to the page that had been folded to keep her place. “Don’t argue with your mother, son.” A husky yet loud voice called out. Koda looked down, slightly frustrated, he pressed his tongue to the roof of his mouth, trying not to back talk to his father. “What’s wrong with what we have now? The town is perfect, we don't need you kids talkin about this nonsense hope outside the borders.”

“But what's the point in stayin here if all we do is talk about the feelings we hide?” Koda gulped down the built up saliva in his mouth. Instant regret punched Koda in the gut as he grew tense, “Dad, I didn-” He was cut off by the sound of the office door slam closed. His father's shadow was gone. Koda stood there awaiting his mother's response but it never came. He really should’ve eaten his teeth. An exhausted, frustrated, angry huff escaped his frail pink tinted lips as he stepped closer to the front door.

He grabbed the dusty red colored jacket from the rack, its white sleeves stained with a grey gunk. Koda hesitantly placed it over his shoulders, lapping the buttons over on another, listening to the small clicking noise. He glanced back at his muted mother before picking up the brown leather styled bag he kept most of his possession. With on last sigh he opened the door, “I’ll be back before dark, don't miss me too much, Ma” A cloud of sadness and guilty surrounded him as headed through the town towards town square, he might find something in use down there.
