Separate Game Development Chatter Topics

Separate Game Development Chatter Topics
Posted 2021-10-13 08:51:22 (edited)
On Lioden we have various sub-topics under chatter that make it convenient for players to find and vote for topics that actually interest them - it's also helpful for devs to find low priority, easy changes vs full blown events or encounters. These being:
→ Game Art: Ingame art general ideas
→ Game art: Mane ideas
→ Game art: Base/manebase ideas
→ Game art: Mutation ideas
→ Game art: Decorations ideas
→ Game art: Eyes and Markings ideas
→ Game Development: Convenience, UI and Layout
→ Game Development: Existing Feature Adjustments
→ Game Development: Events Adjustments

This, however, is not present on Wolvden for whatever reason and they all reside on one topic together which makes the forum undesirable to view because you're stuck with all sorts of suggestions that you don't like. Because we cannot suggest wolf features (markings, bases, etc..), Mutations, or events I propose adding the following:
→ Game Art: Ingame art general changes
→ Game art: Decorations+Backgrounds ideas
→ Game Development: Convenience, UI and Layout
→ Game Development: Existing Feature Adjustments
→ Game Development: New Feature Suggestions
Perhaps also → Game Development: Explore Encounters (being I see a lot of these suggested?)

Feel free to comment below with other topics or suggestions.

Support.

I definitely prefer lioden's game development more than wolvden at the moment lol.

I'd love to be able to mock up some bases and things, its a shame we can't. But never the less, more topics need to be included.

edit: i said and removed some dumb stuff because im tired and didn't read the post correctly x'D sorry

Honestly I both see why we can't suggest bases but also don't see a reason in them limiting us.
They might not approve and bring any suggestions to light right now but it would be nice to post our mockups and get feedback from other players nonetheless.

Support. I'm hoping that eventually they will change some rules and allow some muts and marking suggestions but I understand why they are not doing that. Having a separate thread for different suggestions would organizes things.

No support. I don't think this forum moves quickly enough to need so many sub-forums. Also, I like to swing by to see what new things have been suggested, and it's more convenient to see all the new topics together instead of having to look through a whole bunch of separate sub-forums.

Initially I was neutral on this but having read the feedback I must agree with Lionel - as somewolf who regularly reads Game Development board, there's not much traffic here. We can easily read proposed suggestions in one place without having to split into multiple sub-forums to check what's going on in each of them. I also review some of group forums made by players that contain numerous sub-forums and I sometimes have a feeling it'd be better to have fewer of them. This makes me more certain that it shouldn't be applied here.

Oppose.

I'd personally never liked the separate forums on LD, all that did was make me look at less suggestions since I didn't want to click through each one. With them all in one place, it's easy to see what's being suggested. And there isn't much going on in this forum, so it's easy to keep track of.

If the amount of traffic here increased by a substantial degree, my opinion might change. But for now at least, I think it's fine as is.

i think it's a good idea.
on lioden, i frankly ignore the sub-categories i do not care for.
on wolvden it's the same, except theres more 'uninteresting' clutter to click through until i find suggestions i'd care about.

cos its all in the same category.

add in the fact bumps can bury new suggestions, and it can become a chore to keep track of potentially really cool ideas.

Things here are cluttered and i have to scroll and click each page to see what other Ideas have been posted and i hate wasting time seeing if there's anything i may have missed since i do have periods where i'm not on much for real life reasons.

I also agree with Kirrah's points
