It would be nice to lock chatter topics so that only you and, maybe, certain people can be allowed to comment however all members of the community may view the post. This would be useful in private project or breeding records as well as for forum topics for closed clans or roleplays, forum topics who are incomplete and you do not want people to be commenting on yet, or for projects where you want people to read the post instead of commenting and contacting you.

When locking a topic, at first only the creator would be able to leave any comments. However, their would also be a place for the creators to enter IDs of members or select from a list of friends - which would allow those members to comment on the topic as well. This would function similar to the locks that mods put on posts and so it shouldn't be too hard to code, just a bit of code added to allow certain people to comment on the locked post and a dropdown to let the poster select members to unlock it for.

An alternative or in addition to this we could have private group chats where friends could talk but it could not be seen by other players.

This would be a very nice feature to have! I've found that people usually respect when you ask them not to comment on your post, but it would be good to have regardless!

I'd honestly just be happy with a no-comments toggle feature... bc I've come across a lot of people that don't read, especially when you've got a lot of text written. :|

just going to repost this on this since my more recent topic was locked>

Due to recent sales chat changes I think it would be beneficial to allow users to block others from commenting on sales directories. You never know if you'll need another box and even if you put in bold at the beginning of your topic asking for people not to comment it always happens. This could be avoided if we were able to lock our own topics from other users comments

Less support. I think groups or group chats would be more beneficial, as I'd rather have a private group chat than have a thread that's locked to just a few people where everyone else can view it and see what's being said.

I do think that it may be beneficial to have some users blocked from interacting with your threads on the grounds you don't want to interact with them, but it's not serious enough to warrant a block yet.

I think I prefer the idea of deleting/locking inactive threads than gatekeeping some threads. There are some I've posted, then figured out the issue, or just didn't get any traction are just a clog.

With the addition of clans I could see this serving as another function, where you can make forums clan-specific or lock your clan forums to only members.

Since those are meant for exclusive groups I don't see why anyone should be able to comment!

I've had people comment on a thread i made for a project and kinda ruin what i had going on plus they weren't very nice about how i thought about things. I had to make a new thread and have the other deleted.
