Newbie adoption & Free Wolves to help out

Posted 2021-08-05 15:34:01
Hello, I am new here (1 rollover, started yesterday) so I'm still learning a lot.

I do have a few questions that real players might be able to answer much better than Google.

For instance, I'm not sure I really understand the genes yet and what makes something more desirable (which I know is partially subjective based on taste, and partly based on rarity tiers).

I also don't understand how fish are valued (like, is it better to save higher rarity or weightier fish?). Some of the guides are informative and also not helpful all at once.

Anyway, please adopt me, haha :) Guide me with your wisdom!

Weightier fish are more for leaderboards, while rarity increases the amount of SC you get when you turn it in.

Wdym by genes? In terms of markings, combo marks, Merle, and a select few markings are more valuable. Sterling, ducat, auburn, deira, doubloon, sepia, silver, tuff, and zircon are the combo markings you can get. You get them by mixing certain color combos together.

Merle, shaded, highlights, tamaskan unders, ujario, marbled unders, and gentle unders are all examples of rare markings.

Thanks for replying. It's good to know that rarity relates to SC gain in fishing. I guess the fishing question has come up a lot. Maybe they should just add a line for clarification on the game page.

I've been reading through the guides and learning more about tiers/rarity so I can understand your reply.

Between base coats, markings, nose, claws, etc. there are just so many factors to consider.
I guess until I start breeding pups I won't really understand how passing them on works.

I mostly just want to breed pretty pups and am worried that they'll be a weird mix of colors and markings, haha. I guess that's the risk you take when mixing DNA.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer :)

Personally, claws and skin haven't really mattered to me in terms of breeding. Eyes matter a bit more, but not by much. I do know what you mean, and color bomb wolves exist, sometimes pretty, sometimes not. Base and marks are the most important, so I recommend focusing on them if you're searching for something in particular.

My stud was designed to get combo marks when paired with the right wolf, and has the melanism mutation. Your first breeding to him is free, may I remind you.

here's a guide to befriending as well to help catch those rare nbws

I keep them on my discord server for ease of access, this is the server. If you join, we do have wolvden related things, but do note that it's not a wolvden dedicated server. You can come talk to me or my joint pack here, but be prepared for others. It's mainly a server to talk and meet new people.

Thank you. That befriending guide is a bit more simplified than the Wiki one so it's faster to scan which are the best options.

Hi pretty new here :) just joined today. I checked out your den and oh my goodness, so many sweet pups I would have loved. Don't really have any questions as of yet, just trying to make some friends. :)
