Referencing new players; can you, and if yes, how?

I've been playing other games, one very similar to this one (not gonna name the games I think that'd be against the rules and counted as advertising) and you could reference player. You'd also get a reward but that's not what I'm after; I just want to reference some players I think will like this game. Can I, how, and will I get a reward for it if I do? Again, not the most important part just curious.

WD doesn't have a reference system.

Not sure if it's something that will be added at a later date (its sister site has it) or if for this site devs decided not to have it.

Someone said something about a box if you make your account that you can put an ID in and that's referring, but it's good to knowthere's no link to be send, thank you ^^ 

Oh! I didn't know that!

I signed up on the first day of early access so it might have been added later in the sign-up form (or I might have not noticed it XD). Good to know if I ever have a friend joining!

I wish I had early access, but I just got here :(
