Clarisse flashed a fiery glare at Xander. "I thought I told you to go!" She snarled, whipping forward to taser one of the men, letting him slump to the floor, unconscious. "Now we all have to go. Now!" Violet hurried to Clarisse's side and dashed out of the building, starting the car. Clarisse practically shoved Xander into the car and shut the door as the men ran out, watching with dumbfounded expressions as Violet drove them away.

Xander looked over at Clarisse as she spoke to him, ears ticking back slightly at her words, giving her an apologetic glance before following the two out of the building quickly.

He yelped slightly as he was pushed into the car, taking up much of the back seat. He turned around and stared out the window as they drove off, his expression matching those of the men.

Closing his eyes, he shifted back to his natural form, sitting upright in the seat, pulling his legs up to his chest. All he could think about was how long they had until the chip reactivated.

Clarisse pinched the bridge of her nose, muttering under her breath. They pulled up at the penthouse. Opening the car door, she beckoned to Xander. "Come on," She breathed, opening the elevator. Violet followed behind her.

"Alright," Xander murmured, getting out of the car when they arrived. He kept his eyes on the ground as he followed the two girls into the elevator, tapping his foot lightly.

When the elevator started to move, he stumbled lightly, not use to the jolting movement at the beginning, nor how he felt like he was getting pressed down as they went up.

He let out a barely audible whimper, pressing himself into the corner of the elevator.

Clarisse raised an eyebrow at Xander. "It's okay," She said soothingly. "It's an elevator. We're almost there."

The elevator let out a pleasant ding before the doors opened, leading them to the sitting room. "Just stay here," Clarisse said. "I'll tell the organization we've freed you."

Xander glanced at Clarisse, the tone of her voice helping him slightly. As the elevator dinged and its doors opened, he quickly walked out into the sitting room, opening and closing his hands nervously.

"O-okay." He nodded to Clarisse, walking over to one of the many windows. Seeing that they were higher up than he liked, he jumped back and quickly found a seat to sit in.

Pulling his legs up once more, he looked over at Violet, feeling embarrassed at his display of actions.

Violet sat down nearby, crossing her legs at the knee. She pressed a Airpod to her ear and began calling someone.

Clarisse paced the room, brow furrowed. She stood near Xander. "Is the tracker vibrating?" She asked, her frown clouding her eyes. "If it starts tracking, we have to taser you again. And I don't want to..."

Xander looked away from Violet as Clarisse began speaking.

"No, not right now." He told her, but he felt a bit nervous as the topic of the chip was brought back up. It wasn't now, but when would it?

He tapped his legs in a rhythmic pattern, biting his lip once more.

"Thank you for getting me out of there." He said after a while of silence, staring down at the ground.

Clarisse was silent for a moment. "No need to thank me," She said lightly. "It only took me three days of meetings to prove to the board we needed to free you." A small laugh escaped her mouth.

Xander let out a tiny chuckle, but it was faint and weak. He glanced at Clarisse for a second or two before looking back at the ground, feeling sort of out of place right now.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through so much trouble just to get me out." He eventually murmured, dropping his legs to the ground.
