Clarisse's fingers trembled, but only slightly. The figure inside was a wolf. "It's like they said," She murmured, taking a step back. "A werewolf hybrid." She felt chills running down her spine. "Are you..." She glanced at her notepad. "Xander Annullach?"

((Sorry for the short response))

((It's alright! :D))

Xander's head snapped up as he heard the voice again. His eyes landed on a woman who visually seemed... afraid, maybe? His left eye twitched slightly. What was there to be afraid of?

Oh, right. He hadn't changed back yet. Bracing himself for the uncomfortable pain, he closed his eyes and slowly shifted to his natural form, sitting on the floor criss-cross.

Opening his eyes, he studied the woman carefully. He didn't see any weapons on her, which was good for him, he guessed. He already knew that there were the same stone-cold men from earlier standing outside of the room, ready to bust in at the first sign of abnormality on their cameras.

He could already see one in the corner of his eye, a blue dot blinking in a steady rhythm on it. Ridiculous.

Then, he remembered that he had been asked a question. He wondered how this woman knew his name, but he guessed it was on whatever was in her hand.

The demon slowly stood up, dark blue eyes flashing briefly with distrust. "Yes." He said, his voice hinted with some sort of accent, but only faintly. It sounded like it could possibly be Australian.

Clarisse studied the figure before standing right in front of the bars. "I'm with a organization that believes you and other test subjects in other areas of the world should be set free," She murmured. "I've come in the cover of interviewing you firsthand for the news. But...if you say any of this to your guards, I will deny this. You will be executed." She raised an eyebrow. "Understand?"

Xander didn't show any emotion at the mention of being executed. It was something he'd imagined and thought of since he'd first been brought here, so with it being said out loud wasn't any different.

"If you want to risk your life for that, sure." He said in a quiet yet firm voice. His eyes left her to glare at the camera in the corner, unsure whether or not it picked up sound. He wouldn't be surprised if it did.

Based on the lack of guards coming in to drag this woman out right away, he guessed not. Fixing his dark eyes on her once more, he slowly brought his hands forward to grip the bars tightly. They bent in the center ever so slightly, but it was the same material as his chains, bearings, handcuffs... he just couldn't break it.

"If you so wish to do something so perilous, fine."

Clarisse followed the guards, memorizing every detail to go inside. She was then deposited out onto the pavement at the front of the building.

As she was walking back to her penthouse, a familiar-looking platinum haired woman walked up to her. Her secretary. "Miss Denumonte," Violet said smoothly, rolling down her chevrolet corvette car window. "Hop in. I'll take you back to the penthouse." Nodding gratefully, she zoomed off into the night.

Violet glanced at Clarisse. "How was the..." "Xander seemed to be uncaring about leaving," She said, flipping through her notes. "He didn't react the way I had predicted." Violet allowed herself a small huff. "Does he know what we're doing for him?" "I couldn't explain the details. There were cameras and mikes."

Xander watched her walk out, clenching his jaw tightly. Did he possibly ruin his one opportunity to leave? Possibly. Was he mad? Well, he could hear and feel the crackling of fire sparking on his horns, so, that was a yes.

He watched two more men walk into the room, different from the ones from earlier. They were never the same. At least, not that he could tell. All he ever saw were black suits, black glasses, and cold faces.

The demon allowed them to cuff him without much resistance, not letting any emotion show through his face. The men took advantage of that, seeing it as something to tease him about, like he didn't have enough problems to deal with already.

The only benefit I get from cooperating is not getting a needle shoved into my arm to sedate me enough to listen. He thought, feeling the fire increase on his horns. The man on his left shoved him lightly, telling him to 'knock off the fireworks'.

Xander forced the fire to dissipate as he was lead to his room, his mind racing a mile a minute.

((oof, gotta go ;-; i can't wait to see where this roleplay goes!! :3))

((Aww okay :C Cya!!))

They arrived at the building just as dawn began to break. Briskly, Clarisse walked and slid her keycard to open the door, Violet right behind there. They ascended the building, standing in the glass elevator. "I memorized the layout to get to the werewolf's cage," She said, sketching it in her notebook. "But the place is teeming with guards. It'll be impossible to get in or out without getting noticed unless we have a disguise."

Xander's fists clenched as his handcuffs were undone and he was shoved into his room. It was a big, blank area, allowing him enough space to run around in both his natural and wolf form. There were angry scratches on the tall white walls.

As the door was shut behind him, the flames returned, bolder and brighter than before. The demon stomped over to the middle of the room, sitting down. He pulled his legs up to his chest, glaring at the thin strip of glass towards the top of the wall in front of him. It was where they were always watching him, always observing.

Whenever he got mad, they'd send in a team to either sedate him or shock him until he stopped. Only once had a gun ever been pulled on him, and that was because he noticed a slightly smaller and more frail man amongst the suited.

So, he jumped at him, taking his own escorts by surprise. The man didn't hesitate to pull out his pistol and press it right against the hybrid's forehead, slight tremors going through his body.

Only then did Xander pull himself away before his escorts could. They laughed at the smaller one and reassured him that there was nothing I could do to him except intimidate him. Still, the smaller one insisted on watching the outer building or helping the doctors instead.

The hybrid wrapped his arms around his legs, shivering ever so slightly. It often got cold in that room, but they never gave him clothes other than the thin ones he had on now.

Instead, they would just turn the heat on in his room, like he could hear them doing now. How they caught that little shake of his body still baffled him, but he just turned his dark eyes upwards towards the out-of-reach, barred skylight. He could see the sky growing a hazy purplish pink.

Clarisse paced her office, remembering the dark blue eyes of the hybrid. Violet watched her nervously. "Will you do something?" She asked. Clarisse sat at her desk, tapping her fingers against the hardwood surface. "We need to find a way to get in," She said coolly. "I've arranged more visits for me. Violet, you'll accompany me tomorrow for another visit. Perhaps we could get a better look."

Xander looked away from the skylight, slowly allowing himself to shift into his wolf form. He stood up and started pacing the room, eyes getting bored of just seeing white on top of white, with a dash of white, and another sprinkle of white.

If these humans don't drive me crazy, this room will by itself. He growled in his head, glaring at the glass towards the top of the room, watching the people mill about their computers, watching him.

What more do they want from me? Do they want to turn me into a bird, too? He thought with spite, raking his claws against the bland floor. His lips slowly peeled back and the icy glow on his chest got brighter as he started clawing at the walls, snarling out all of his anger.

He paused when he heard the door open, and four pairs of footsteps walked in. Xander's icy eyes narrowed as he whipped his head around to stare at the men in suits. They walked closer, threatening him with their little shocking poles. He knew they would only get close enough to touch him with them if he didn't cease the aggressive behavior, so he lost the snarl and lowered his fur, sulking off to a corner.

The men shrugged and watched him for a few more moments before walking back out, chuckling with one another. Xander slid his head onto his forepaws, feeling the tears from earlier come back.

I wonder if that lady really wanted to help me, or if she was only giving me false hope.
