Xander's eyes fluttered open, and he stretched out his long hind and forelegs, his jaws gaping in a giant yawn. He licked his muzzle and stared at the wall before realizing he'd just woken up from a perfectly refreshing rest.

His tail thumped against the ground softly as he rolled on his back and peered up at the couch where Clarisse had last been, a wolf grin on his face.

Faintly, in her sleep, she could hear Xander beginning to stir. Too tired to make a noise or move, she sighed softly, and turned in her sleep.

Xander rolled onto his stomach and eventually sat up. He heard Clarisse's sigh and began sniffing her face, trying to figure out if she was actually awake or not.

He woofed gently, licking her ear.

Startled by the sudden "woof", Clarisse jerked awake, heart thrumming. She looked down at Xander, and released a relieved breath. "Oh. Just you." She slumped back into the chair, trying to fight the drowsiness trying to overtake her.

Xander jumped back when Clarisse quickly sat up, realizing he had scared her. He whined softly, lowering his head.

He wagged his tail softly in apology before jumping up onto the chair beside her, taking up much of it. He looked down at her, tongue lolling from his mouth a little.

Clarisse gave Xander a gentle laugh. "Don't change back into a human," She warned, touching the tip of his nose with her finger. "You'll push me off the chair." Petting his dark head, she shifted a little, trying to make space.

Xander chuffed lightly, sounding faintly like a laugh. He looked at her finger as it got closer, then returned his eyes to her after she booped his nose, his tail wagging again.

He leaned a bit closer as Clarisse pet him, tilting his head so she could get behind his ear.

Smiling softly, she gently stroked the area behind his ear. "Does it feel that good?" She murmured.

Xander nodded as his tail stopped wagging and his right hind paw started twitching slightly, a long huff coming from him, equivalent to a happy sigh.

After a while, he shook his fur out and nipped at Clarisse's hand before leaning against her, woofing lightly.

Clarisse smiled faintly at Xander before closing her eyes. Form melting, she became the silver-pelted wolf yet again. Stretching her slender limbs, she leapt out of the chair, barking impatiently.
