Extending Lunar Shop Time

Posted 2022-06-11 14:48:29
I work a lot....A LOT and with the event being season and day/night sensitive, I lose a lot of opportunities to get my daily LT limit because I cannot log in at the appropriate times for collecting.  Id like to see the event at least extended another 2 days at least, and for special RL lunar events, it should be more.

As it stands, it is SO stressful trying to complete the events, it really pushes burnout in the current design, especially when the apps dont always appear every month.  If there is an app a person really wants, they have to get it within that short period of time, or they are SOL.

Since this still hasn't been implemented, I'd like to offer another suggestion as well (can be combined with this). But perhaps a timer/alert/notification somewhere on the site as a reminder when an event ends. Not like a PM, but a little timer or note somewhere like "Event ends in: ##:##" or "Event ends tonight" maybe on the sidebar somewhere or up by the currency. :x

@firefilii I completely agree with this idea as opposed to OP's proposal.
Dreamlands is supposed to be an alternative reality/dimension. It doesn't make sense for the Shoppe to be open when the Dreamlands itself is no longer accessible, since the Shoppe is locating IN Dreamlands. I also don't want to see those two sellers working overtime like that. If implemented, it would then hypothetically follow this logic - if they're still open after the event ends, why not open before the event starts too? (Since people also forget when they're supposed to start and miss out on the head start they wanted). What about shops of other events? Does OP propose that, ideally, Aurakai's Brokerage should have been kept open a few days after the Cataclysms event ended? Why only limit it to the Lunar Event? Why only 1-2 days? What if you miss those too?

By the way, this is coming from someone who actually missed the last deadline. It's my fault I didn't check, but an early notice would have prevented that. If people find such deadlines stressful, simply note the start-end dates and plan in advance. No need to break the logic of the game just so you could get the apps you want, when you want - they're exclusive and rare for a reason.
A week is plenty of time imo.

Just for clarity, I made this suggestion before there were any other events, which is why I only had the Lunar event.
I wouldn't be opposed to it applying to the other events, though I know you aren't in support of that idea. I do like the timer idea, though if someone cannot get on due to real life in time, it still doesn't help them. I currently am unable to play much because of demands of my time, so I am missing out on a lot. I am okay with that, because it has to be that way. But if someone misses something by a day or two that is on regularly, I feel like there should be a grace period? Just because it might not fit perfectly with the lore doesn't mean it shouldn't be considered for the sake of the player base.
But I don't think it should be open before the event--the new items and the like are only announced at the beginning of the event so it wouldn't make sense for them to come out before they are announced.
