Meadow Herd (Wild herd rp)

Estrella hears Midnight and once she knows she is safe and away from the land management she slows down some to let Midnight catch up. She nickers lightly to Midnight before trotting on wards to find a place to settle her herd. The filly was in heat currently and it was breeding season. 

Midnight struggled to keep up with Estrella, but eventually she slowed and allowed him to catch up. She nickered at him and he whinnied a response. He paused for a moment to try and clean his wounds, but they were on his belly where he couldn't reach, so with a sigh he gave up. He could tend to them later, once they were far enough away from the humans to be safe. Estrella began trotting onwards and Midnight followed. As he travelled he glanced back to see whether the other two horses, Opal and Spirit, had made it over the fence.

Estrella continues to trot along silently trying to find the best spot to start a herd that's all she cared about right now and all she wanted to do find a spot that is safe away from humans and gave the herd everything they'd need fresh grass, a water source, a sheltering source and somewhere to foal. 

Midnight gazed at Estrella as he followed her. He could tell from the tension in her body that she was anxious. Anxious to find a safe place to live, he assumed.

"It'll be alright," he called to her. "We'll find somewhere."

The scent of pine was growing closer. Ignoring the pain of his cuts, he lifted his snout and breathed in the heady scent of freedom.

Estrella takes a deep breathe and tries to relax some she smiles lightly before saying back "I know it will be". She continues to trot along after trotting for awhile she finds a spot that was a good spot to start the herd and finally lays down exhausted a bit but content about finding a place. 

Midnight was beginning to grow dizzy from blood loss. His cuts were still bleeding freely. At last, Estrella found a suitable place and lay down for a rest. With a sigh, Midnight lay down too, rolling over onto his side. He sat up briefly to try and lick at his wounds to stop the bleeding, but again he couldn't reach them. Giving up, he lay back down on his side and closed his eyes.

Estrella sighs before going over to Midnight and lick his wounds lightly. She keeps licking at them until they are look better than she goes and finds some broom and chews it up before putting it on his wound to help it heal some being used to some medicine work an learning some of it while in the herd with her herd mates. 

Midnight feels a flutter of excitement as Estrella approaches him, but he forces it down. She is here to heal him, not flirt with him. He sighs with relief as she cleans his wounds and applies herbs. Gradually the pain dies down and the bleeding stops. His eyes flicker back open and he lifts his head to look at the beautiful mare. "Thank you," he says. "I didn't know you were skilled with herbcraft."

Estrella flicks her tail lightly as she lays down again "your welcome, Yeah I learned a bit while in my old herd with my family. I was next in line to take the lead spot so we learn a bit of everything to help the herd" 

"How did you get separated from your old herd?" Midnight asked, shuffling a little closer to lie next to Estrella.
