retire lead wolves for free after 7.5 years

retire lead wolves for free after 7.5 years

hi.

so, with pack members, the sc cost for retirement is waived after they reach 7 years and six months of age. with lead wolves, however, the 25 gc cost to retire early is enforced all the way up until the wolf is 8 years old, and dies on their own.

now, if lead wolves, like pack members, had a chance to die randomly on rollover after 7.5 years of age, i would maybe understand this, and maybe this is the case and i just have bad information. but from what i understand, this is NOT the case, and lead wolves can only be gotten rid of for free by letting them die naturally at 8 years old.

i do not see what purpose this serves. it strikes me as a meaningless and frustrating gc sink. i think that the gc cost for retirement should be waived for lead wolves of 7.5 years of age or older (this is roughly how it works for lead males on lioden, btw, so it's not like this is a brand new concept i'm introducing or anything).

either that, or lead wolves should be able to die randomly after 7.5 years same as every other pack member, but i doubt this latter change would be very popular since lots of people would prefer to have their lead wolf around until they're 8 years old. the former option is probably preferable.

Somewhat agree. I'd like to see a discount at least for high age leads. Maybe at 7 it costs ten GC to retire them, and at 7.5 it costs five GC to retire. That way you're incentivized to keep them as lead their whole life, but you CAN remove them early and you don't get penalized as harshly if they've reached old age. Five GC is fairly easy to get for free players - it's basically one full day's income if you play actively, or two days of snake quests.

I agree. 25 GC is punitive for old leads, and it's not like they'd be losing revenue. The big spenders will still retire their wolves at age 3 or whatever and pay out the nose for the privilege.

High support. It's really frustrating to have to wait the extra time to retire a lead for free.

I really agree to this, either, some form of reduced price, or they follow the same as pack members.

Support for either free or discount(s). At 7.5 the difference is only a couple of weeks, so you've already been patient.

Maybe you don't get the price break if you're on a retirement cooldown already? Or you could but still have to pay for the bypass? Not sure, but wanted to bring up the question.

I didn't realize that the game obnoxiously informed you on a daily basis that your lead is going to die 11 days out from that date. So now I get to watch an annoying countdown that I can't do anything about without still paying 25 GC.

Worse, it's going to happen right in the middle of the Lunar Event.

Good times.

Please!  The everyday countdown in very annoying when you can't do anything about it (without paying 25 GC). Plus, it's just strange that leaders always "live" to exactly 8 years, while other wolves can earlier than that.  For leads, we should be able to retire for free anytime during the "dying window" of normal wolves.

This should also be applied to breeding males!

Support, though I hardly let my leads reach 8 years, I understand the frustration from other players. So if it helps them, I'm all for it.

fully support, though i dont think a discount is a good idea, it should be 100% free. if its free for pack members at 7.5 since theyre able to die randomly at any point after, it should be free for your lead too. no reason to have to pay for what rng does for everyone else for free
