retire lead wolves for free after 7.5 years

Support for waiving or reducing GC costs after 7.5 years. Among other things, it would allow for better planning (e.g., perhaps your lead would reach 8 years in the middle of a lunar event, and you'd rather retire a bit early and get some areas scouted beforehand).

No support for leads randomly dying before 8 years. I like the predictability of knowing exactly when to breed my heir, and it's also useful for stud leads who want to go the full 8 years.

I really agree with this. I still have my first leader and I'm just waiting for him to die. When the game began I didn't understand how long I'd have to spend time with the same leader and how much it would cost to change him, I felt like I was pressured to choose a leader right then and there so I just picked what I had in hand. Same with the breeding male. I wish these could be changed more easier, especially if it's your first one, as you're still learning game play.

Support. I don't think making it free would be too fair as they are a lead wolf which is more special than a regular wolf. I agree about making the price lower, like 5 gc or smth. I've been playing since opening day and still waiting for her hurry up to the other side

Full support! I skipped almost half a year since I went on hiatus and I still have a starter lead I'd never keep around for so long. I'm literally only logging in every day to make her older and closer to dying, but the whole process is frustrating and so slow. I would love to have her retire at 7.5 years of age, and would already start to plan out a new heir which is currently pointless as of now. As a newbie, I didn't have a chance to find out what base is the most valued/what traits are sought out regarding breeding. Altough, I'm not that keen on having them die randomly, and I agree that there should be a small fee (maybe 1000 SC, the normal price for retiring regular pack leaders at early age). I also think the same rule should apply to breeding males!

What I think would be cool is if you could pair your next lead up with your current lead for their last six months of life. Like a "train the future leader" sort of thing. Where your lead would go with the wolf in training and help them gain experience by watching battles. obviously not full experience but at least some. Maybe even have some extra special encounters in that time frame that only happen when you are training your future wolf.

Full support. I personally wanted to immortalize my lead, which forced me to retire him early. I ended up paying 45 GC (25 to retire, 10 for Jelly fish, 10 for immortal slot) to retire and immortalize him, which is pretty ridiculous.  I agree that retiring the lead slightly early won't really impact the economy or other parts of the game and since regular pack wolves have a death roll, it makes sense that leads would get a similar option (since they can't die randomly). It would also make the cost of immortalizing a lead far less painful, since it is already very expensive to do so.

Support. It's really nice on LD being able to choose the right time within that 12-rollover window to switch kings. That way I can choose a time that's convenient for me, particularly because I like to restructure my pride/pack upon the king's death. It's a lot easier to find the time to do the restructuring if I can just make the succession happen on a weekend rather than whenever the very last day rolls around. And sure, I could just not log in for a few days to make it happen when the time is right, but I want to play on those days, too.
