The Guardians of the Crystals- Officially Over

Celeste stood at the crystal's pedestal, watching for any possible danger or threat. The marble stairs leading to the chamber gleaming in the evening light, the kingdom of Star visible below. 

She shifted uncomfortably; all she wanted to do was go home to her castle and sleep blissfully. But she knew the crystal needed her; there were a few in the kingdom who would snatch the crystal as soon as they saw it unguarded. 

 Celeste sighed heavily, and turned to the crystal. The crystal was a clear globe-like thing, with a rainbow-colored essence flowing inside, just like her eyes. The crystal controlled all magic flowing in and out of the Realms. Celeste turned back to the setting sun. She would never say, but she was quite afraid of the power the crystal held.

 



Moonlight wandered a forest, coming across a path. she debated following it or not, but her curiosity won out and she pulled her hood over her horns and ears, following the path in the direction that seemed more important.

Finally her shift had ended. A group of the Royal Guards would take over the Crystal until tomorrow morning, when another shift of Royal Guards would take over. Then in the afternoon, Celeste would take over until evening time. Celeste walked down the marble steps, the Guards saluting her as she walked past. "Queen Celeste!" They said over and over, saluting and bowing before continuing on their way. Celeste reached the bottom of the stairs and walked down the marble platforms to the castle. 

The castle was pure marble, built by the best architects in the Realms. It was beautifully made, at the top of a set of stairs. The chamber of the Crystal lay behind the castle, away from prying eyes. 

Celeste entered the palace, retiring to her room. She sat on the edge of her bed, sighing heavily.

Moonlight noticed it getting darker as she walked so she quickened her pace, eventually finding herself at a town. she walked around the border of the town, wondering what it was about, and saw a marble castle. not wanting to get hurt, she continued going along the border until she was closer to the castle, her curiosity of it strong.

Celeste changed out of her formal robes into a simple silk summer dress and stood on the veranda, breathing in the cool evening breeze. She sighed, looking over the border of the Kingdom. Suddenly she stopped, and peered down. She spied a figure walking along the edges of the Kingdom- getting closer and closer to the Palace. Celeste frowned. She stepped away from the veranda and wrapped a white shawl around her shoulders. She flew down the stairs, careful not to draw attention to herself. She stepped out the back door to greet the odd figure.

Moonlight slowly approaches the castle, lightly touching the marble wall. she tilts her head slightly, never having seen something too similar to this. she kneels down, digging down a bit next to it, wondering if it goes all the way down to the core of the earth as it seemed to.

Celeste silently stepped closer to the figure, who was digging into the marble(the marble seemed to melt at the figure's touch)platform. Celeste touched the figure's shoulder. "Hello? I hope you don't mind if I ask- what are you doing?"

Moonlight jumped. literally jumped up about 2 feet. " a-ah! " Moon took a moment to calm down and collect her thoughts. " U-um, curious. "

Celeste flinched, startled by the creature's jump. "...Alright. My name is Celeste. Are you...are you a human, or...?" She noticed the horns on her head that had become visible when she jumped(her hood must've come off). "Ah...you must be a demon hybrid, yes?"
