HERDS OF DAKOTA(CLOSED)

It wasn't before too long when Moran was already uncomfortable in her new home. How did this black and white character know her name? Her brow furrowed as she approached and soon she stood still a good distance from them, but with them nonetheless. She watched the two with caution and suspicion, and again when Jewel came to nuzzle her Moran gave another nip and an irritated huff through her flared nostrils. Not on her watch was anyone going to touch her. Mo looked at the new mare.

"You know my name but I don't know yours," she stated plainly, watching Jewel from the corner of her eye.

"That, Moran, is Moon. Your Guardian. " Jewel said gently, smiling even. " I know you are uncomfortable, but none of us will harm you. I promise. " She kept her distance a ways from the foal after she got nipped on her nose. She would have to think of a way to get Moran to trust her. Then she got an idea 

"Hey, Moran, darlin, I have an idea. What about you and I at some point, go for a walk together by the river nearby. It might get us to know each other a bit better. I only want what's best for you. No harm shall come to you or any of the others. What do you say?" She asked looking over at Moran.

"Oh! I'm sorry for making you confused, if I did." Crescent Moon said softly, looking down at the Appaloosa filly. "I only know your name because she said it out loud and I overheard." She smiled, a tad bit shyly.

She listened to Jewel talk before nodding. "My actual name is Crescent Moon, but I prefer to be called just Moon." Turning her sage eyes to Jewel, she tilted her head a little. Since the words were directed to the filly, she didn't interfere with her own words.

"Oh," Moran's eyes flitted back and forth from Jewel to Moon, not sure where to fix her attention. She was greatly overwhelmed with everything that has happened this day she wasn't sure how to feel or act or how to think.

"New guardian?" She echoed, tall ears swiveling on her head. She missed her mother, "y-yeah, sure," she quieted and looked down.

Jewel Ash smiled " hey Moran.. dont you worry. Moon will take great care of you. I promise. But she is under my leadership as well as you. " having a guardian will help you cope with whatever you are going through. I had that when I was a little filly. "

She told her all these wonder things to Moran to get her to feel more comfortable in the new surroundings. " Now what do you say we go for a walk. The three of us?" she asked looking at Moran with her ears pointed forward and alert at the same time.

Moran frowned and looked up at Jewel with flattened ears.

"You sure make a lot of promises," she snorted and turned to look over her shoulder, half expecting her mother to come galloping back from the place where the humans went with her. She heaved a sigh and looked at Moon, perking her ears towards the friendly black and white mare.

Jewel sighed " I make a lot of promises because I can.And I tend to keep those promises, Moran. So don't give me that attitude. Please" she looked down at the foal before actually turning around and trotted off to the shady tree. it was hot and being in the sun wasn't pleasant. She snorted before heading to the tree, swishing her tail back and forth and her ears in the middle on her head. Not sure of what to do.

" What am I gonna do with that little filly.. " she thought to herself awhile later. " I need to know what happened so I can help her" she reached the tree and layed down to take a short nap. her energy was half gone just by standing in the sun. 

Crescent Moon listened to the exchange with interest. When she saw the young filly's eyes on her, she gave her a light smile. When the mare walked off to lay under a tree, she left the two together -- a possible moment for the Paint to get to meet the filly she'd be guarding.

"Would you like to go get a drink from a creek? I know one not far from here." She offered, shifting her weight on her legs. Ears perked, she awaited the young appaloosa's answer.

Her parents and her herd promised they'd be together forever, and that promise was broken. Mo didn't trust anyones promises anymore.

Moran held her tongue when Jewel suggested she stop with the attitude. Attitude? Pfft, she thought, you're not the boss of me. She watched Jewel leave, admittedly disappointed they weren't going to go on the stroll she'd mentioned a couple times. Her shoulders dropped and she returned her gaze to Moon.

"Sure," Moran agreed, her attention moving towards Jewel who looked like she preferred to sleep instead. 

jewel wasnt feeling like doing anything at the moment. " what is it im doing wrong, dad... I feel like a total failure now. I dont know  what to do with Moran and this new mare that joined.. well sorta. Please help me" She looked up at the sky and heaved a big snort, before falling asleep for her nap. In her bream, her father came to her and talked to her about what to do in this case of trouble. Jewel just hoped it would work.

She finally woke up an hour later. she looked to where Moran and Moon where but decided to not bother them. She had a lot on her mind and needed to be alone for now. She would take them out for a walk later.
