Daystep || Location: Temp. Camp || Mentions: Spiderfang, Shadedfern, Foxstar

Daystep couldn't help but purr at the two friends bantering with each other as they spoke and let her head tilt a bit as Spiderfang replied to her. He did have a point... One that she found herself relating with quite a bit. "I suppose you have a point," she replied with a small purr, twitching her tail as she glanced outside again. "I'll go see if I can find her!" she decided, twitching a goodbye with her tail before padding out of the den and tasting the air to see if she could catch Foxstar's scent.

She didn't have to wait long, it seemed. She saw Foxstar pad into camp with Mudsong right behind her. Her eyes brightened and she watched as their leader hopped onto a boulder to address the clan. The look of determination and pride was clear in the leader's eyes, and it made Daystep much more hopeful. When Foxstar mentioned scouting patrols, she immediately stood and raised her head to gaze evenly at Foxstar.

"I volunteer to lead the second patrol, Foxstar, if you'll allow me," she offered, feeling a bit nervous, but trying her best to keep her demeanor calm.

Mudsong || Location: Temporary Camp || Mentions: Foxstar, Hawkpaw, Sleetwhisker

She proceeded to feel more and more awake as they neared the make-shift camp, the pointed tortoiseshell's ears perking with curiosity when she found the warriors bustling with activity. It seemed like it wouldn't be too hard to find a cat or two to accompany her on her mission- although, it appeared that the typical friend group had decided on a patrol of their own. This put Spiderfang and Shadedfern out of the question. Raventide...well, he was nowhere to be found. She assumed that the tom took off to hunt.

My options are more limited than I imagined. Mudsong blinked her icy optics, searching for a few other familiar faces. It seemed that Creekstep helped himself to take charge, leaving the warrior biting back a bitter comment. Now my options are really being limited. It was frustrating, but she refused to let this sign of weakness show. The small warrior kept herself collected, and instead looked to Sleetwhisker. He seemed prepared to take Duckpaw out. She let out a mental sigh of relief, knowing that she could have a fellow experienced warrior tagging along. "Hey, Sleetwhisker," the mottled chocolate feline called out to him in a calm tone. "Would you like to take Duckpaw on my patrol? She and Hawkpaw can train together along the way."

Hawkpaw would like the company, she figured. She glanced around to locate her own apprentice, looking to where she had left him, only to find him missing. A sensation of panic tingled in her belly, along with a sharp pang of anger. How could he disobey, and run off like he-

...she ran off too, didn't she?

It was her fault. Mudsong was responsible for setting an example for her own apprentice, and she had run off at dawn without a word. Of course, he'd do the same. She needed to find him.

The molly noticed Daystep in the corner of her vision, wandering off to speak with Foxstar. "Creekstep appears to already be leading the second patrol." She commented with a small flick of her damaged tail. "But you can accompany my patrol if you'd like. We need to find Hawkpaw."

Remus || Rogue || Location: Gray Fox Burrow || Mentions: Raventide [indirect]

He gagged at the fox odor, holding his breath for as long as he possibly could. Remus could not locate the back of the burrow, the secondary entrance that the momma gray fox and her pups had used. Perhaps it had collapsed- maybe it collapsed regularly, and the momma fox simply maintained it by digging and digging whenever the exit caved in. He could dig it out as well, but...well, Remus wasn't a cat built for sprinting. Despite his adrenaline pumping, he could feel the dull, nagging pain in his joints returning. They weren't keen on him taking those sharp corners to evade his pursuer.

He'd have to rest for now and hope that it'd leave- it was all he could do. In the darkness of the burrow, he pressed his heavy silver fur against the dusted earth, claws unsheathed, muscles tensed. It was difficult, if not impossible, to see in the depths of the tiny fox home. If the predator that chased him had the audacity to enter...

..he'd have no choice but to fight to the death.

((Will post with Dawnpaw later, getting ready for class))

§  Creekstep |  Location: Temp. Camp |  Mentions: Shadedfern, Spiderleg  §

Creekstep turned as he noticed a familiar friend. He mewed to her as she came to talk to Daystep, "You two can come with us! I'm looking for, no, we're looking for Hawkpaw." He gestured his tail towards the pair of Spiderleg and Shadedfern. He looked back too Mudsong, his ears pricked towards her. I mean, she is his mentor. And I'm his dad, it only fits. "We're also going to hunt and look for places in the woods for a camp, as Foxstar said." He added briefly, fixing his glare onto Foxstar, then back to Mudsong.

He sat down and looked at Daystep, the half orange-half black she-cat looked like cool fire in the Sunlight. He let out a awkward smile towards her and looked away. He shuffled his paws and let out a muffled mew. He looked down onto his paws and sighed, "You don't have to if you want. I mean three warrior is enough, but, two more wouldn't hurt. And plus!: more fresh-kill for the clan." His mind began to spin as he realized, "Hey, have you guys seen Palestripe? He's been gone out all day, longer than Hawkpaw."

"He's an elder! He can't be going around in the forest! What if a rouge gets him! I scented a rouge by a abandoned fox den, no one in the right mind lives in those places." His eyes, once fear-stricken, turned into determination. He needed to get his son and Palestripe.

Raventide | Location: Forest | Mentions: Remus

Raventide sighed, shuffling his paws, shifting his weight from time to time. How long can this creature hold its breath? He wondered with slight awe. The silver tom finally stood up fully, stretching his forelegs from being crouched for so long.

Padding closer to the den, his muzzle curled with distaste at the stench rising from it. Whatever it is, it better have a good wash before walking around the forest again.

"Hello?" Raventide called into the darkness of the den, his tail curled with slight nervousness. This thing won't even know what you are saying unless it's a cat or can speak as cats can. Looks like you're really abord the "hope train", huh? "I mean you no harm, stranger; I'm only here to see if you are the harmful one."

The tom's shoulders tensed as his ears stilled, directed towards the opening of the den. His blue eyes narrowed as he tried to see anything moving in the darkness. " am simply making sure my family is safe in this area for the time being." He added, trying to sound genuine.

(I will reply with Shadedfern once Spiderfang/Bow posts something for him! c:)

[@Layla you have yet to add what I've asked to Creekstep's personality or biography. You've ignored the rules stating you must wait to post until two other users have replied, no OOC-only posts, and dictated how other users' characters acted without giving them a chance to do so themselves (Spiderfang and Shadedfern). This is your last warning, if you break any further rules you will not be allowed to participate in the roleplay.

Additionally, you've made quite a few errors about the geography of the area, most of the forest is across the bridge, and the temporary camp is just some foliage under a lone tree, not in the forest itself. Therefore, Remus and Raventide are far from the camp at this time. There is a map of the new territory here to help you.

If you want to talk out of character, we have the OOC Thread.

@Tiger I'll also ask that you please keep OOC to the correct thread.]

🕷Spiderfang | Location: Temporary Camp | Mentions: Shadedfern, Creekstep, Palestripe🕷

The dark pelted tom's whiskers twitched, amused. He attempted to duck away from his pal's gentle strike, but was too slow. He flattened his ears and softly closed his jaws around the extended limb in retaliation, releasing shortly after.

"When we have a den again, I'm finding a nest far from yours. I'll be covered in wounds otherwise." he complained jokingly. Spiderfang begrudgingly allowed himself to be shoved upright, groaning as his sore pads took on his full weight. While I really enjoy the company of a patrol, not so much the expense of energy. He was about to excuse himself from the idea when another tom approached them. Part of him wanted to ask a multitude of questions as the mottled tom rambled at length, curious as to what business the warrior had with Hawkpaw. As the mention of patrols came back, he opened his mouth to politely refuse, but Creekstep kept on. Defeated, Spiderfang said nothing, remarking to himself that it was odd to refer to Shadedfern and himself as youngsters when they were only a few seasons apart. He stayed quiet until the calico recited his intentions to their clanmates, including himself and his friend this time.

"Er, we haven't agreed to go anywhere just yet-I think that's for Foxstar to decided, actually." already feeling a bit awkward at the sudden interaction, Spiderfang groomed his chest fur distractedly. Creekstep continued to chatter, bringing up Palestripe next.

Spiderfang curled his lip in distaste, suppressing a growl, "Palestripe was a respected warrior not long ago, he's not some helpless kit. Come on, Shadedfern, let's go ask the leader who she'd like to send where." with a dismissive flick of his tail, he walked out of earshot of the tortoiseshell warriors and approached Foxstar. She ought to choose a new deputy soon, some warriors are getting too big for their pelts. He thought with a final huff before his frustration dissipated.

🦊Foxstar | Location: Temporary Camp | Mentions: Mudsong, SunClan🦊

The multicolored she-cat felt warmth sink into her from the sun's rays and radiate deep into her chest as the cats before her came alive with excitement. Although they had all lost so much, there was a brand new world of opportunity laid before them. They hardly seemed like the same cats who had been trudging endlessly beneath the beating sun the day before. Above the mundane chatter, she caught the voice of a nearby she-cat pipe up to volunteer. Her mismatched optics landed on Daystep proudly. Foxstar was impressed a young warrior was so eager to take charge.

"How could I turn down such enthusiasm?" she purred, "You may take whoever you like with you, and please be careful. If you catch so much as a whiff of danger, report back to me."

With her immediate worries addressed, the leader then gazed at the empty patch where Hawkpaw had slept. Tail-lengths from any other cat, even his own denmates... or herself. From such a distance, she couldn't scent how stale his scent was, but she swallowed a lump of concern. She reminded herself again that no one had seen or scented any danger here, and Hawkpaw was no small or frail cat, even for his age. He'd show up soon enough, and if not Mudsong would track him down.

Mudsong || Location: Temporary Camp || Mentions: Foxstar, Hawkpaw, Sleetwhisker, Creekstep

The warrior bit her lip. It would seem that the calico tom hadn't listened to the entirety of Foxstar's announcement, or at least, he'd forgotten her orders already. "As Foxstar formally announced, I am leading a separate patrol. The aim is to have two separate scouting patrols to cover as much ground as possible." It would be pointless to have a single super-patrol. By splitting up into two reasonably sized groups, warriors would have ample protection with one and another while also being able to cover as much territory as possible.

Especially with Hawkpaw missing.

She was frustrated with Creekstep already, but Mudsong kept her tone formal and calm, fake face on as usual. It seemed that everyone was vying to impress Foxstar in order to secure that deputy position. Mudsong? She was just trying to get by, to find her apprentice, train him, and settle into her new home. And, of course, maintain a strong friendship with her kithood companion. That being said, she'd do everything in her power to ensure that Foxstar's transition went smoothly because she valued their relationship- not because she wanted to be deputy. If need be, she'd pry the others off of Foxstar's back so that the leader could catch her breath. Mudsong had jealousy issues. It was evident, and she couldn't exactly hide it.

Foxstar's kindness towards Daystep brought a small smile to the pointed tortoiseshell, easing away her stresses with the patrol mix-up. I suppose we were that enthusiastic once. Mudsong found herself becoming nostalgic once more. ...Although, I was more enthused to get into trouble. I hated duties.

She reminded herself that she was in no rush to patrol. Their new home wouldn't change itself- what was out there was waiting for them, and it could wait another heartbeat if necessary. If Sleetwhisker and Duckpaw politely declined to attend her patrol, then so be it. There was another warrior or two she could snag to take their place if they chose to hunt or train instead of scout the new land. "...If you'd like to create your own patrol, then feel free." She mewed to Daystep once more. "If not, I'd be glad to take you out to scout with whomever else agrees to tag along." She'd leave the decision with the younger warrior. There was no need to use force.

Remus || Rogue || Location: Gray Fox Burrow || Mentions: Raventide [indirect]

Biscuit had told him about the energy of the forest before, about how to be one with nature. Sometimes, Remus thought of it as something quite bogus- granted, Biscuit lost his marbles many moons before he stumbled across the silver tabby as a lost kit. However, the old tom had taught him once to take every step with caution. There were times for rashness, and other times there were situations that called upon patience. More or less, it was just getting a feel for the scenario and judging it from there. Yet, there was always a chance that one would judge wrong...

Remus held his position in the burrow. It felt right. He felt anxious- rightfully so, he didn't know what was after him. Every molecule in his body screamed at him that this was danger, that what was after him was no friend. How could he know otherwise? Biscuit had been the only feline face he'd ever known. Nothing out here was friendly. Everything either wanted to kill you, or be eaten by you (in the case of the mice). Save for the flowers, of course. Whenever the giant found his time to relax, he loved to do so in a patch of sunshine surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers. It was his bliss.

But this was no time for relaxation.

He continued to let himself rest, to catch his breath and attempt to will away the pain in his paws. The rogue contemplated his situation, and decided that it would be best to dig out the old rear exit of the burrow. Remus kept his eyes glued to the faint light that indicated the nearby entrance, and just as he turned to begin his digging...

A voice?

The predators did not speak his language.

Remus found his breath being taken away, from both fear and awe. No cats lived here, not the friendly kind, anyways. Not his kind, not Biscuit's kind. The only friendly cats that Biscuit had spoken of was the Walkers, the voices, the cats he made up in his head. Remus had never seen them, nor had he ever heard them. The places that Biscuit walked, where the Walkers apparently "found" him the most, was in a different part of the forest. Remus assumed that the specific location simply grew a strange plant that Biscuit ate and received hallucinations from. He did have a habit of eating the darndest things, that silly old tom.

But a spirit- it had found Remus out here? Why?

He didn't no what to say. In that moment, Remus was unable to find his voice.

Dawnpaw || Location: Temporary Camp|| Mentions: Shadedfern

Their leader made an announcement, but Dawnpaw hadn't bothered with listening. It would be the same old false hope, the lies that kept the others moving but only sent him spiraling backwards in grief. How could everyone move on so easily? How could they just leave behind their entire lives, and leave their former friends, families, and memories to be nothing more than piles of ash?

The crooked-jaw'd tom could see the familiar dark pelt of his mentor, Shadedfern. He seemed to be going out on a patrol with one of his close buddies. Forgotten already. The golden apprentice huffed to himself before flattening himself further into the grass, like some sort of deflated balloon. The effort of the huff irritated his lungs, and caused him to wheeze silently. I don't want to go, anyways. He didn't like most of the warriors, with their happy families, high expectations, and disregard for what they'd left behind. They all seemed so old, so "my way or the highway". He didn't like it.

It would appear that the other apprentices had already left, or were in the process of leaving camp. He wasn't friends with any of them, so it didn't really bother him. Or at least, so he thought. It still felt like had a giant hole in his chest. Sometimes...he just wished he could have some quiet, nonjudgmental companionship. Like, a pet rock or something.

Shadedfern | Location: Temp. Camp | Mentions: Spiderfang, Foxstar, Dawnpaw

Shadedfern's eyes widened when Creekstep came up and began rambling on about patrolling, Hawkpaw, and Palestripe. His hackles raised ever so slightly, feeding off of the energy coming from Spiderfang.

He listened (quite proudly) as his friend spoke to the warrior, and continued to tell him to come along to speak with Foxstar himself. He nodded and lifted a paw, about to follow, before he heard some sort of huff-wheeze mixture. He turned to look at the source of the noise and his chest burned with guilt.

I was so wrapped up with being woken up by my best friend and getting to go on a patrol with him that I forgot to check and see if my own apprentice was awake. I'm glad we haven't gone out yet... or else I would have left him here. He already has enough he's dealing with - can you do one thing right with him for once? He thought, clenching his jaw.

"Uh... yeah. You go over to Foxstar, and I'll meet you there in a second. If I take longer, just come back with the news." He nodded lightly, giving Spiderfang a fake smile as he broke off from his trail.

When he got close enough, Shadedfern sat beside Dawnpaw, laying his tail over the apprentice's back. "Hey there, big guy!" He purred, but it sounded a bit broken as he tried to swallow the guilt. "Glad to see you awake. Foxstar's announced we are very close to our new home, and I'd love it if you were to be a part of Sunclan's history, finding our new territory!"

Green eyes wide with forced enthusiasm, he gazed down at his apprentice. He opened his mouth to say something more, along the lines of an apology of some sort, but he felt like Dawnpaw wouldn't take one too lightly. All you have to do is be his mentor and just be there for him overall. He's lost so much, and you have to remember that. Actually remember.

Raventide | Location: Forest | Mentions: Remus

Raventide, standing still, ears perked, awaited an answer. After some drawn-out silence, however, it seemed like he would not get one. Living form of high hopes. His mind snickered, and he frowned, wishing so badly that he could smack his conscience.

"Since you didn't turn around and attack me, I can only assume you are not a threat to my family and so on." He finally said, his ears ticking to the sides in a dejected manner. Turning around, he took in a deep breath and realized he had no idea where he was. He could smell his scent trail, though, and he let out a sigh of relief.

I'll just follow it back to camp. He thought, and began following the trail quickly, wanting to make sure he knew his whereabouts or came in view of the makeshift camp before it disappeared or became too stale.

(I'm very sorry about that, Bow ^^" I'll remember to keep OOC posts in the correct area from here on out!)

§  Creekstep |  Location: Temp. Camp |  Mentions: Shadedfern, Spiderleg  §

Creekstep couldn't help but le out a slight hiss, "I. Get. That. Oh, so let's just let the elder out in the forest, he's only 90 and something moons. Because he can totally tend for himself and fight cats, or even worse foxes and badgers." He flicked his tail and turn towards Mudsong, "I'll just go on the second patrol with her. Without you two." He scornfully added at the end.

He padded up besides Daystep and Mudsong, "Clearly Spiderleg and Shadedfern don't want to go on patrol with me. I don't either, seeing that Spiderleg has  some what of a attitude and Shadedfern has gone of the go see his apprentice." He sat down and let out a slight purr, awaiting her answer. But his thoughts had made him doze off slightly, What if Hawkpaw's in trouble!? What if Palestripe is in trouble!? I need to go, but, I could never find them both alone. Come on Mudsong please say yes!

He began to get more anxious. He wanted to make sure the cats were ok. But he also wanted to be able to find the home for Sunclan. He wanted to be part of historic time in Sunclan's history. He looked at Mudsong once again. He realized he had been lost in his own thouughts when she answered, "What? I'm sorry."

Daystep || Location: Temp. Camp || Mentions: Spiderfang, Shadedfern, Foxstar, Mudsong, Creekstep

Daystep felt her heart soar when Foxstar agreed to let her take a separate patrol out to scout the area. Twitching her whiskers, she dipped her head toward her leader. "Of course, Foxstar. You can count on me," she replied determinedly, meeting her gaze excitedly before turning to look at Creekstep, who seemed to be shuffling his paws rather awkwardly.

Daystep tilted her head as she listened to him speak, and flicked her ear. "Sorry, but Foxstar wants us to go on scouting patrols, not hunting. If we scent Hawkpaw out there, though, I'll let you know," she told him gently.

When she heard Mudsong's voice address her, she turned her head away from Creekstep and faced her, purring in acknowledgment. "Of course, Mudsong! I'll be sure to let you know if I can't find anyone," she replied, turning her gaze to Shadedfern and Spiderfang. Perhaps they would be willing to tag along?

She watched as Shadedfern went to sit with his apprentice, Dawnpaw. A soft smile graced her features and she went to Spiderfang, purring excitedly.

"We're making history, it seems! Did you, Shadedfern, and Dawnpaw want to come with me on the scouting patrol? Or would you prefer Mudsong's patrol?" she asked, tilting her head at him. She didn't mind their answer either way. She was just excited to be able to get out of this underbrush and out into the forest, feeling the grass under her paws.
