Chased Wolves should remain in the pool for a set amount of time (editted!)

Henlo Wolvden.

Mods posted a clarification, both listed below and located towards the middle/bottom of the first page of this thread. As such, I have editted this post to better reflect the new information and response. Those who have listed their support before should be informed of this change, and can choose either to retract their support or reiterate it with the new suggestions in place!

HOWEVER... I still kinda have issues with it. This master post has been edited to reflect the disappointment at knowing that your wolves get deleted if nobody wants to befriend them. I still propose that they stay in the pool for a set amount of time, instead of either indefinitely existing or just getting deleted if someone doesn't want to befriend them. What if they've been in there for a day, then someone gets them and goes 'Oh, not my style' and chooses not to befriend them?  My original suggestion remains: let them stay in the pool for 24 days.  Regardless of if they've failed being befriended/turned down. And all chased wolves under the age of 5 years should go into the pool, and remain there for the set amount of time, regardless of when they've been placed in. (I've placed the 5 years stipulation bc some people chase wolves of over 7 just to avoid having the pain of the wolf die in their cave, and it wouldn't be cool for someone to befriend a wolf that then dies on the next rollover.)

So what I mean is, if it takes 5 days for a chased wolf to go into the pool, that 5 days is not counted towards the 24 where they would remain. If they wait for a month to go into the pool, that month is not counted towards the 24 days.
If, in the first day they're available in the pool, someone comes across them and fails befriending (whether they fail or run), they are then placed back into the pool with the remaining 23 days being their amount of time in the pool. If, 22 days into their being in the pool, someone comes across them and fails befriending (whether they fail or run), they are then placed back into the pool with the remaining 2 days being their amount of time in the pool.
There is a concern of overcrowding the chased pool with chased wolves, but I don't think this will be an issue because of the staggered way chased wolves are placed into the pool to begin with.

SUGGESTIONS:
From #27654 - Wolves that are FAILED should remain in the pool, if staff goes with this suggestion. Wolves that are just skipped for being NBWs should not.

Moderator post readsHi, everyone!  We'd just like to clear up some misinformation that seems to have spread regarding chased wolves.

Chased wolves are not deleted from the chased pool after 2 days.

The way that the chased pool functions currently is: not every chased wolf will be placed into the pool.  Those that are placed into the pool only show up as chased wolves in Explore after a varied amount of time has passed—a chased wolf will not immediately show up within Befriending, it takes some hours/days for this to happen.

Once a wolf is placed into the chased pool, it will stay there until it is pulled into Befriending.  If Befriending the wolf fails, whether due to the wolf not liking you, you decided to leave Befriending, or you attack the wolf, they are then deleted from the chased pool.

We hope this helps to ease any concerns!

So yesterday in chat, it came to my attention that when you chase a wolf, it only remains in the pool for NBW/chased wolves for two days. This immediately got me T I L T E D because there are people who spend weeks feeding, playing, pupsitting and so on special, fancy wolves to chase just to help broaden the pool. It is a massive drain of resources only to find out that after all this time, there is SUCH a low chance of them being found. For lore purposes, even. So what happens? Do they just vanish into the depths? Die?

So, I propose simply allowing chased wolves to remain in the pool for 24 days. That's the amount of time it takes for a newborn pup to become an adult wolf, which just seems to be a decent time scale to allow a chased wolf to remain out in the NBW pool. It makes it feel like, at the very least, the food and amusement items you used on the wolf before chasing it don't feel like you just tossed them into the trash.

In order for my idea to get added to the game, I think the following will be required from the devs: Just some extra coding.

I'm sure there will be people here who will be able to better explain the problems in words that aren't so.....bad? I'm not good at it.

Heavy agree. It’s also infuriating to be level 10+ and unable to find a chased wolf for days because they just get so quickly deleted

WOW I didn't even know that! That's a HUGE waste in resources imo since my pups aren't pretty enough to sell so I don't make money from them anyways but it at least felt rewarding to grow them up to chase them off in hopes they could find good homes.

I 100% support this, esp when my main source of income is by selling the extra food I have and now learning this, just feels like I'm wasting what I could be selling.

Definitely support! I was wondering why it's so hard to find chased wolves.

i support.

i didn't know that chased wolves stayed for only two days.

i agree that chased wolves be allowed to be in the pool for 24 days. after that they are removed from the pool.

that would explain why i have trouble finding chased wolves myself.

Support the revision too. I think these wolves are far too rare as it is!
