PSA: Potato Pups in The TC

PSA: Potato Pups in The TC

Disclaimer: this is light-hearted, in case my tone doesn't come off as that. I'm merely looking to inform and discuss, not patronize and demand. Ty.

I need to talk to ya'll. This TC business is getting outta hand. Potato pups? Chase em, don't clog up the TC trying to sell them for <5 SC. If you don't want em, they got no stats, got no marks, we don't want em either; please do us all a favor and chase them. If you want to give away wolves to those in need or newbies, give away some decent ones (>4 marks, >250 stats, etc.)

I came across a few people that "buy to chase," and honestly, at first, I thought that was weird, but the more I cruise the TC, the more I realize why we need that... so I do it, too, when I've got the extra SC.

Until we've got an enclave-type-thing on WD, please do us all a favor and chase your potato pups. There's no market for them; there's nothing we can do with them yet. When there is, great. But until then? Chase.

Make up some 'rules' if you need to ~ I have and honestly I find it's much easier to say "ok, that falls in the potato category. Do I want this? No? Is it even worth giving away? No? Toss."

I personally toss anything below 250 stats and below 4 markings. I sometimes chase if they've got more marks, but no "good" marks. Use your judgment, guys! Help unclog the Trading Center a bit, eh? :)

I totally agree, and love this discussion point.

I've finally started to realize what people want in the game, and why the market is so saturated - I've developed these 'rules' for myself to make it easier!

  • Chase all tier ones
  • Chase all low-stat and unattractive males
  • Sell Tier 2s at a pre-determined base price (males at 90 SC/1 GC, females at 180 SC/1 GC)

I follow these rules unless the base is especially rare, the wolf is particularly pretty, or they have a less common trait like higher stats, rare or sought-after markings, high levels/proficiency, or hetero eyes

These rules might be a little loose or strict comparatively, but I think it would definitely help the TC :)

Thanks for posting!

I dunno, I find potatos for 1 sc useful. I use them as pupsitter fodder and chase them when they reach adol. There's a use for every pup, even the ugly ones. And I help get rid of wolf-shaped hair clogging the TC drain in one fell swoop. lol

I despise the term "potato pup".

Well most of us don't mind it and potatoes are ugly so it fits, so I dunno what to tell you, lol

I don't really find any wolves ugly except for maybe a few with distasteful color combinations and markings, but not having too many markings doesn't make it ugly. It may be pixels but it's still an animal, not a potato.

It's not a real animal. If it were a real animal, potato would be mean. These are not real animals. Feel free to not think they're ugly, but most of us do, and unfortunately for those who feel the way you do, majority rules. Please keep the thread on topic or move on. You're very allowed to disagree, but derailing the thread benefits no one. Make a thread about changing the terminology if it matters that much to you!

People who aren't familiar with the game would not think they're ugly. It's only because you're spoiled by seeing some of the prettier wolves in the game. They're PLAIN, not ugly. And I raise my wolves differently, I actually care for them. I don't care if it's not real, to me they are real and have actual personalities.

I understand chasing wolves because you want a certain aesthetic, but this attitude people have about "yeet the potato pups" is GROSS. Do whatever you want with your wolves, but not everybody has to play the same way.
