How do YOU play/build your pack?

How do YOU play/build your pack?

I suppose this is a decent forum for this?

I was wondering how everyone goes about playing and building your packs. I have played breeding sims before where markings don't matter/it's only about stats (any the lifespan is only about 3 months), so it's easy to breed because it doesn't matter what the animals look like. I have also played sims where looks 100% matter, and anything with markings <100% opacity or more than gen 2 are garbage, so it is very heavily focused on custom creations (stats don't exist).

I haven't played Lioden much, so I don't know how to play/progress my pack! At first I was going to play all my first gen NBW's, total shuffle them, and change their bases to a TII, build their stats, and not keep any pups until their last breeding, and then play the lineages that way. But I am impatient and that takes a long time! My lead is currently level 15, and honestly I can't imagine leveling up past that, what with all the battles and healing salves you need ;_;

Everyone in the pack has way different markings in different slots, so a majority of the pups kind of come out looking like potatoes. I've started to look at outside studding, but even then I'm sure I'll be paying money to get more potato pups xD I am interested in breeding more though, so I can start upping their stats! Especially since it only takes a few days of scouting to get to a decent level, then repeat.

I don't know, I'm mostly just rambling now. .Tell me how you play your pack! :D There's no right or wrong answer, I'm just interested in how everyone plays.

My pack focuses on looks and stats, though not at the extreme ends of the spectrum. Rare bases and markings are cool but I’m fine without them. And likewise I want to breed for high stats but am fine with one or two pretty wolves with meh stats. I breed with studs much more often than within the pack itself.

Some more personal goals is for my pack to be clean and have mostly monochrome/cool bases. I’ve also recently started hunting for albino carriers, though that goal to breed albinos is pretty far off at the moment.

Nice, I think I got caught up with having all the marking slots filled. I probably shouldn’t have total shuffled all my wolves but it sure was fun xD

Are you planning on living out your wolves until they pass, or will you retire them/chase them early?

My main goal is to have all my wolves be TII, as well as clean bred. I have  lot of females and stud them with other males in order to keep a genetically different pack.
Even though inbreeding does nothing in game, I like the extra challenge it brings. My current goal is to try to breed a TII pup with glass eyes and make them my next breeding stud, hopefully with a few special markings!
I'm also working on crafting a fox applicator. I'm honestly amazed that some people have already managed to complete it! They must have deep pockets or good friends!

I’ll keep them till they naturally pass for lore reasons and to get a chance to expand their lineage. The only wolves I’ll be chasing are temp members who I pretend don’t exist in my lore, like some of my initial nbws who were there to fill role slots.

Sounds fun Jackie! I’m debating on whether I should restart my pack with NBWs once my OG wolves pass. I feel like I cheated changing most of their bases to TII’s. Most of their pups ended up as less common TI’s. Maybe I’ll just use their pups though.

But yeah I was surprised someone got the base already! Definitely have a lot of money to spend and friends with lots of money to spend, lol. I’ve gotten the recipe but none of the items yet 😵

One of my original NBWs passed already, Basilisk! She was pretty old when I found her on the second day of early access.

Could use the pups? At least then your bloodlines can continue but that's up to you. You've got a really cute pack going on!

And I certainly get that changing their base feels like cheating.  I found it very hard to not alter my wolves and eventually gave in and customized my lead. Won't lie though, I'm a lot happier with the new look. The old design had become really unappealing to me.

I have a few of the times for the fox base but it takes a while to build them up. Really the only way to get them fast is to buy them from people. I imagine though the investment is worth it. The person I saw was selling each studding at 40gc a pop!

I might do that, most of the pups are all related to my stud male. I did bring in a couple merles though for possible future variety. Could be useful now that we can breed bonded pairs! I think I have 2 gals in this next gen so it works out with how limited the in pack breedings are currently.
I can’t imagine paying that much for a breeding, and then not getting a fox base pup. I browsed some of the pups that were born the first day from the first stud and most of the bases were not that special. I’ll just ogle special bases from afar, lol.

That sounds like a good plan! I love that they have bonded pairs now. It really helps make males...well, viable to people who like to breed.

It's also fun for those lore fans. Have pairs mated for life, having kids, it's cute!

Yeah, you have to be willing to part with a lot of money to try to get that base. I'll just work at the applicator slowly, collecting the parts I need. I have the perfect vision for one so it's certainly a nice goal for me to focus on.

One of my other goals is to collect all the backgrounds and decorations in the different biomes. I'm almost done with the mountains, I'm going to move to the Grasslands once I'm done. I love that they have different backgrounds and decors in the different locations. It makes each area feel more special.

I haven’t thought about collecting other items as a goal. I’m pretty “meh” about the decorations, but getting all the backgrounds would be cool! I wish you could apply them to different wolves at the same time though, I would certainly buy more if that was the case!

I’ve moved to the desert then the coniferous forest but I was getting annoyed at how unsuccessful my hunts were. I moved back to a beginner biome and now I’m drowning in elk carcasses xD I should start breeding again just to use the pups as a resource dump.
