How do YOU play/build your pack?

Posted 2020-12-23 06:40:50

Probably not like anyone else here... I feel out the energies and personalities of each wolf and what they want to do... I haven't chased a pup yet. I get attached regardless of looks or stats. If I have to get rid of any wolves, I'll keep them in the lore and just say they left but I won't chase pups. I'll raise them, and only have them leave if I absolutely cannot afford more space.

Ooh are you planning on keeping all the pups throughout their lifespan? Or raising them to be adults, then chasing them? I can imagine running out of room real fast if I didn't chase any wolves.

I'm attempting the impossible, but I likely will have to get rid of some sadly I'm just waiting until the time comes when they're about to age up and I don't have space to decide what I'm going to do. I try to keep as many as I can. I won't get rid of pups, I'll wait til their adolescents or adults if they have to go so I can feel like I raised them all at least and then I'll just write in that they left. I hate chasing because you can't find the wolf, so I might try to give away but I know some wolves won't be highly sought after.

Ooh, gotcha. My first rounds of breedings I was planning on raising the pups, putting them up for trade, then chasing them if they reached adult status. I chased a few horrendous pups but the rest of them sold (albeit cheaply, I was putting them up for like <20SC)  so I haven't chased any adults yet.

I haven't found any that I consider horrendous, but I have a soft spot for pups other people think are ugly. Bought this one as a pup because it was being called ugly in the trading center.

I also don't like the idea of chasing wolves because it just seems mean, lol. I wish there was an option where the wolf could just leave on its own accord, maybe once it hits adolescence. That way I could just have a wolf "leave" rather than "chasing" it, but that's what I would write in anyway.

(Without neglecting the wolf to make it leave, because I don't want to do that either.)

Whatever you do, don't buy the additional pup stages then. It is impossible to chase them when they are little noodles ;_;

I focus on both looks and stats. I'm not really into decorations so I sell them! Don't pay much attention to what markings are trending 'cause I like what I like.

I have a (loose-ish) rule of only breeding each female twice per lifetime. I (intend to) breed females when they hit 5 years old, so they've got decent stats built up, and then  a second time asap. This makes it easier for me to track and doesn't overwhelm me with pups and force me to make difficult decisions on who to keep. Ooon the downside, I'm sure I'm missing out on some beautiful pups. ;(

Doing my best to keep my wolf count low 'cause I'm at the point where one den slot costs 500+ SC. Also in the process of phasing out old NBWs in favor of younger adults who need to ramp up their stats for eventual breeding + it'll help clear up some slots. I'd rather sell than chase but if it comes to it, I do chase (not without some guilt though :P).

As for moving territories, for a fun long-term "challenge" I intend to move only once per Lead Wolf generation and I want my pack to live in each biome at least once.

I love creative writing but am not into creating any sort of lore for my pack.

I think I'm about to phase out my older wolves for a new generation and build up stats. I can no longer wait until wolves naturally pass, it takes way too long. I'll level up a bit (maybe level 10?) breed them, and maybe kick them to the curb based on pup stats, lol.

I've been playing since October and only just am getting a feel for what I want to do, haha.  Up until now it's just been seeing what different breeding combos come up with, keep what looks nice and sell/chase the rest.  It is really hard to chase pups... I try to hang onto them at least until adolescence to give them time to sell, but if I get a particularly "meh" pup that I know won't sell I chase it and try not to think about it ;~;  And I do have one inbreeding line just to see what happens with it, I chase the ones I don't want to keep because I don't want to put inbred wolves on the TC.

I'm simultaneously brutal about chasing wolves I won't keep, and waaay too sentimental... I have some pups I have to keep because they were bred from favorite wolves, but they have no stats/markings/good bases, haha.  I sort of keep wolves for myself based on appearance alone regardless of rarity, but try to breed/sell some of the rarer ones.

I want to try breeding some interesting markings just for my own enjoyment, at this point you can buy pretty much any marking/combo you want which takes some of the fun out of it, but I want to see what I can come up with.  Right now, alternate Points colors are my goal, and then trying to figure out what to layer on top of that to look the best, haha
