former pack members keep their background and decors

I love this idea! It would be really nice to be able to have decorations and backgrounds for deceased wolves to make it less plain-looking. It's kinda boring to not be able to do anything with deceased wolves, so being able to make them look nice would be really fun, as well as being able to redecorate them, which will give you something to do with your passed-on wolves, rather than just stare at them.

I also understand that it might not make sense to be able to change the decors, as they are deceased wolves, and the decors belong more to the living world. I do still really like the idea though. Maybe, for those who don't think it makes sense, if there could be special ghost decors or something, maybe it would start to make a bit more sense? Like decorations for ghosts that have to be purchased separately from living wolf decors? I also get that it might be frustrating for that as well, having to buy different versions of the same decor. I don't know, just figured I'd present a possible solution for people that don't think it makes sense. Maybe someone will be able to come up with a better solution for this than mine, but I do really support the decor idea for being able to decorate wolves in the dynasty.

Edit: Oh boy, this post is long... sorry it's so wordy!

thank you for your support.

i like to decorate my wolves. that is why i want them to keep their background and decor when they pass on. other people might decorate them for lore reasons.

wolvden might come up with decor that would look beautiful on a wolf that has passed.

don't worry about your post being long.

Full support!

I'm one who likes to collect backgrounds and have one for each of my wolves and now that I've found out that they don't stay on the wolf after passing, it just feels kinda pointless to even have them.

I also agree with the adding of decors and backgrounds when they're in the dynasty idea too since I could really see myself wanting to add decors on some of mine later on (maybe if more decors come out and I think that might fit their character, situations like that).

With the way it is right now and how expensive they already are, I don't see myself buying any more backgrounds until they implement something like this.

thank you for your support. i'm glad you like my idea.

it does seems pointless in decorating your wolves only for them to lose it once they pass on.

which is why i hope this idea gets added to the game. then it would give users a reason to get certain decor for their wolves.

( i hope i spelled your username right.)

Support!

I thought backgrounds and decor stayed on the wolf when they died but I guess that's not the case. It kind of defeats the purpose of even having them on the site, especially with how expensive they are. I spent a good while the other day dressing up my wolves in the wardrobe and I quickly realized that it might not be possible to get them all decorated before they start dying off due to the sheer amount of cones needed, unless I start selling art for them. Grinding for all those backgrounds and decor seems like a waste of time if it's all going to be lost when the wolves die. Retaining bg/decor in the dynasty would incentivize players to spice up their favorite wolves and actually use this money-sink that is nearly pointless otherwise.

As others have said, decor may be an intrinsic part of a wolf's personality, appearance, and/or lore. A decorated pack leader won't have their greatness reflected in the empty basic portrait after death, where in the dynasty one would expect to find great leaders. The scars in particular are important character building pieces and it would be strange for them to suddenly be gone. Bg/decor can also serve as a reflection of the amount of attachment a player has for a wolf, as they were willing to put in the effort to make them look special.

No matter what new bg/decor is released, especially if it's limited and/or obtained with gc, there's just no reason to buy it if it's going to disappear eventually. Simply allowing it to remain on dynasty wolves gives it a whole lot more reason to exist.
