Like I've mentioned, My Hero Academia is a decent anime that people who don't usually watch anime may also enjoy. Bones animation did a fantastic job making some of the best fighting animations! The plot is ok and basically nothing goes really out of place. It's good for beginners on animation! I haven't read the manga series so I can't say anything about what happened to the plot afterwards.

Does anyone know anything about Ancient Magus Bride?  I was wondering if it was worth watching.  It looks really cool, but I wasny entirely sure.

for anime i don’t necessarily recommend but like: i’ve been feeling a boatload of nostalgia for ginga nagareboshi gin. imho it’s not great but it’s an enjoyable watch for the crazy concept alone, and i did get attached to a few of the characters

yugioh is one i have a love/hate relationship with too, my “favorite” (if you can call it that) is yugioh 5D’s. lots of fight the system stuff with card games on motorcycles and a plot that started off interesting but got shafted due to real life complications. (rip aki and carly’s character arcs)

for an anime i actually think is GOOD and worth watching: tiger & bunny!!  in the city of stern bild, heroes are sponsored by companies and compete on a televised show to see who comes out on top each season and becomes the king of heroes. wild tiger, a middle-aged unpopular superhero, is suddenly paired up with an up-and-coming rich kid hero, barnaby brooks jr., after the hero company that sponsored him shut down. there’s SO much character in this and i can’t really get into the meat of it without spoiling things but it does have a season 2 coming out next year ;)

i dont really watch anime but i have a handful of manga that i adore and can recommend

saw it mentioned but Haikyuu!. so so good. you can enjoy it and not know anything about volleyball. i have far too many favorite charas from this series

if you like shonen, im really into jujutsu Kaisen at the moment (i know its not necessarily that unknown but im throwing it here). It does have an anime and i watched a bit and god dang! mappa did good. short summery is the MC find himself posessed but a super powerful demon and has to make a choice to either continue searching fo the demon (hes only possesed by a portion of the power) and basicaly become a vessel who can be used to kill said demon, or just die straight up. needless to say, he goes a hunting and antics ensue. do be warned though there is a lot of character death in this one and while i personally dont think its ever meaningless death, i now thats not necessarily everyones tea

Bungou stray dogs is fun, losts of bs goes down and most of the characters are really enjoyable.

tower of god is fun if you feel like delving into it. it has a lot going on though and its pretty dang long so im not sure if its everyones tea, but its good. shonen about a dude searching for his uh freind i guess. it recently got an anime last year but the anime stops pretty early on into the story.

another sports manga i enjoyed was Bluelock. not nearly as uhh i huess happy and feindshipy as haiyuu but i enjoythe competative angle it takes
