One of my favourite jams to...jam to.

But I also recommend checking all the different lo-fi Youtube music streams and videos. They're so nice and chill <3

"Everybody Gets High" and "Twisted" by Missio if ur into data edgy shiz.

AJR if you're into more "upbeat" (?) songs

Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" absolutely slaps no matter how old you are (it's an old ass love song just in case you didn't know)

Like that gang/trap shiz? Hollywood Undead (my favorites are most likely "Pigskin", "Sell Your Soul", and/or "Another Way Out")

Yungblud and MGK's (his newer stuff) if you're in an anarchist "let's overthrow the government" kinda mood.

Gay and/or yearning? Hozier, Girl in Red, and King Princess

Gay, depressed, or just got cheated on/got out of a toxin relationship? I recommend Blackbear. He's got stoner vibes and his music somehow feels deep and sluggish even tho a lot of it isn't really like that. That's just the vibe I get from it.

Sorry that these weren't actual songs lmao, I just couldn't fit all of it without seeming annoying. But yeah, I recommend all of these, so I hope you find at least a couple that you like :)

If anyone ever comments 'song recs?' I will never hesitate to say literally anything by The Oh Hellos. I like their Dear Wormwood album best, but the 4 seasons (Eurus, Notos, Zephyrus and Boreas) are also pretty good. Eurus and Boreas would have to be my favourite of those. You might know actually already know Soldier, Poet, King, since that one is an animation meme thing.

I would also recommend the Foxlore and Coyote Stories albums from The Crane Wives, particularly Curses and The Garden from Foxlore, and The Moon Will Sing, Allies or Enemies and The Hand That Feeds from Coyote Stories.

Stray Italian Greyhound by Vienna Teng is a good song, and DEMONDICE has some very fun songs, like Alkatraz and You're An Ace, Kid.

Looking for electro-swing? Go Caravan Palace. Lone Digger was popular a while back and still holds up. Parov Stelar is also a pretty common recommendation, particularly Catgroove.

This Year by The Mountain Goats is also a mood for this year, and Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths is one that was introduced to me that I really like. I know my sister likes I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers and fever dream by mxmtoon.

Older style songs I like are This Is Who I Am by Vanessa Amorosi, Weather With You by Crowded House, and Kyrie from Mr. Mister.

Such a Loser from Garfunkel and Oates is good, and I got my friend hooked onto Hungover in the City of Dust by Autoheart, while I often have Moscow, also by Autoheart, on repeat in my head when I'm tired.

The Anthem of Mr. Dark by The Arcadian Wild is a fun one too.

Want something different? Go check out E ve on YouTube, particularly Dramaturgy, Outsider, As You Like It, Last Dance and Nonsense Literature.

Six Feet by Patent Pending is a good one, as is Who Are You, Really by Mikky Ekko and Everything Moves by Bronze Radio Return.

I should probably leave it as that ahahaha,

I'm not great at song recommendations since I go through phases...

but consistently, if I want to chill out, I listen to The Midnight.

I've also been really into the Hamilton soundtracks after watching the musical.

I watch a lot of streamers, and I've been stanning Corpse Husband and Lilypichu for years now. They make their own music on occasion, but someone mashed up a couple of their songs & I keep coming back to it. Agoraphobic Dreamy Night

I second CrowHymn. Literally anything by The Oh Hellos is good, but especially the four winds. The songs reference and play off of each other throughout all four albums and you can spend a lot of time reading into the lyrics. And read the comments on YouTube. They have really good analysis to point things out and help you tie them all together. The Oh Hellos are a brother and sister.

While I'm on the topic of poetic music with a theme of Greek mythology, Achilles, Come Down by Gang of Youth is really good. A warning for theme of suicide though. It's mostly in the perspective of trying to talk Achilles out of it.

I like acoustic singer-songwriter, kind of folksy-sounding music, so

  • The Ghost of Paul Revere
  • Tow'rs
  • Bear's Den

The Ghost of Paul Revere has a song about the Civil War that was recently made the official state ballad of Maine, so that's cool, and Tow'rs is a couple that writes some Christian songs and some songs for each other but they all sound like love songs so it can be hard to tell. Bear's Den is folk rock.

Dermot Kennedy is also good. He's a poetic writer but sounds more mainstream.

I've literally been listening to Needtobreathe since I was a fetus- my mom went to one of their earliest concerts when she was pregnant with me. Their earlier music is more acoustic/folk, but it's all rock or folk rock, and the more recent stuff is super mainstream and even kind of electronic I think? Except for the newer stuff, they're one of the few bands I listen to instead of cherry picking certain songs. Try Solomon's Ashes.

NF is a rapper, and he's kind of new on the scene. He's all clean, no bad language, and he does a lot of storytelling as well. Mansion is kind of long (5 minutes) but it sets the stage for some of his other songs, especially Intro and Intro III. Seriously, if you just listen to Mansion and then Intro III, the character development oh my gosh. When that song was released I got Chills and listened to it six times in a row, but I've been following him for a while.

Cosmo Sheldrake is a very particular kind of weird that I can't put my finger on, but it's not a disturbed or attention-seeking kind of weird for sure. He's just like that. Everybody in the YouTube comments are sure he's an immortal, a time-traveler, both, or a fae. I like The Moss and Come Along. The Tardigrade Song is Peak Weird.

What do you consider new? Bc NF has been around for at least 5 years I think. And I agree, Mansion SLAPS
